For a mega-budget film like Ra One, the day after the weekends was always going to be important. Weekdays are dreaded, mainly because the ‘actual verdict’ is clearly evident only after all the hype subsides.
Ra One started slow on Monday and never really picked up, with collections around 6 crores – the film has crashed by more than 60% compared to it’s first Friday. The trending is similar to My Name Is Khan, which also had a spectacular weekend but had a free-fall from Monday on-wards.
While the weekend for Ra One was record-breaking, the film now needs to remain steady during the remaining weekdays and then pick up in week two. Otherwise, even 150 crores (which looked pretty easy initially) is likely to be difficult to cross.

i think the negetive publicity of ra.one have made a great difference.i think many people were excited to see ra.one but because of negetive reviews they changed their mind.not only on twitter or facebook but on news channels as well.in my information when srk was in delhi star news wanted him for an interview which is a special programme of about an hour but srk refused. many stars from aamir to salman to amitabh to katrina have appeared in this interview.so starnews started negetive publicity of ra.one.second the film was neither outstanding nor bad. dabang was a class movie but ready and bodyguard were below ra.one in every aspact.some are saying this is srk’s midlife crisis.it may be but i would say this not worst.salman and aamir are having best time of their life.but as an srk fan i just would like to say PICTURE ABHI BAKI HAI MERE DOST
never, its life time will be hard to cross 135 to 140 cr in india

@indicine – to say that the ra one has crashed. business is still very much decent. and come on the extended 2nd weekend will also help the movie. it’ll definitely earn 150 crores net in india and overseas it will b a all time blockbuster.

Eros had declared that it had crossed 170 crores(135 india & 35 overseas), what are these figures?
As per early figures Ra.One Tuesday figure will also be in lower side and might be noticeable lower than Monday. Ra.One 3D occupancy is better in comparison to 2D. Multiplex occupancy will be 20-30% for noon and evening shows. Morning shows are damn poor. Ra.One is registering drop with each day passing. Ra.One single screens figures are extremely poor and many are no shows.
Ra.One (Hindi) has grossed around 6 crore nett as per early estimates on Monday. The collections on Monday are pretty decent as when Sunday is lower than Saturday, a huge crash is expected but considering the 13.25 crore nett collections on Sunday, the 6 crore nett number is more than the film could have hoped for on Monday.
Other Biggies like Bodyguard collected 18.5 Crore on Sunday, collected 9 Crore in Next day, Monday.. :-)
RAone verdict has come . a super dupar flop.
This is strictly my view on this topic. Please rectify me wherever I commit a mistake.
It is said that Ra.One is working big time because of numbers of prints distributedin the market is very large innumber. Agreed 3500 prints are simply large! But the reason I found for this large number of prints is ITS LENGTH. The film is 150 minutes long. Guys, Ra.One aimed at many shows. But if you check on Book My Show, you will easily identify that there is hardly any difference between number of shows for Bodyguard and that for Ra.One.
My logic says, Bodyguard had same amount of shows with less prints because it was just 130 minutes long. Thus, more number of showscould be adjusted.
Demonstration:
Suppose you are theater owner. You have 4 screens in your multiplex. You got 1 print of Bodyguard to show itin your theater. One screen be allotted for other regionalfilms, English etc.
Screen 1: 8am, 10:30am, 1:pm, 3:30pm, 6pm, 8:30pm, 11:00pm
Screen 2: 8:45am, 11:15am, 1:45pm, 4:15pm, 6:45pm, 9:15pm, 11:45pm
Screen 3: 9:30am, 12:00pm, 2:30pm, 3:00pm, 5:30pm, 8:00pm, 10:30pm.
Here one print is distributed. You had managed this one print in 21 shows.
Now same with Ra.One:
Screen 1: 8:00am, 10:45am, 1:30pm, 4:15pm, 7:00pm, 9:45pm.
Screen 2: 8:45am, 11:30am, 2:15pm, 5:00pm, 7:45pm, 10:30pm
Screen 3: 9:30am, 12:15pm, 3:00pm, 5:45pm, 8:30pm, 11:15pm
Here only 18 shows are adjusted. Thus, second printcomes into play and much gap is maintained. Now look with 2 PRINTS how it could bemanaged for Ra.One
Screen 1: 8:00, 10:45am, 1:30pm, 4:15pm, 7:00pm, 9:45pm- 1 st print
Screen 2: 8:15am, 11:00pm, 1:45pm, 4:30pm, 7:15pm, 10:00pm- 2 nd print
Screen 3: 9:00am, 11:45pm, 2:30pm, 5:15pm, 8:00pm, 10:45pm- 1 st Print
Screen 4- 9:45am, 12:30pm, 3:15pm (2 nd Print) and rest 4shows for regional.
Now add all shows it gets 21.
All I want to say is, the length of ra.One forced them for more number of prints. 3 Idiots was highest when it released. Because it was 160minutes long. But now when the capacity is increased so are the prints increased.Now about 3d.
In one theater, the owners don’t have 3d projectors forall their screens. It will be mostly in 1 screen or at highest it will be in 2 screens. So for more shows one 2d print and one 3d printis required for one theater. Same has happened in my city. The film has got 3 printshere. (before there was just one print distributed for any film here). One print is distributed in a multiplex(2d) Other in a single screen(2d) and other in another single screen (3d). And adding all shows it has 16 shows in total. Bodyguard has 14. Whats the big deal!
This observation may be foolish, but this is what I see.

From Social Network To T.V channels all have criticized Ra.One as if it was their enemy..
It’s not a bad film..Mind it..in your review sections too ..20Reviews give avg of 58/100 , imdb gives 5.9/10 , Metacritic gives 60/100 , rotten tomatoes gives 78%fresh..
still the excessive negative publicity..is taking over..those who have not seen.are still commenting bad about it..those who read get doubtful..

Movie now below average monday 6.3cr. Tuesday 4.3cr. Total so far 83cr. Ok agar movie daily 10 din tak 5cr. Ka bussinas bhi krti hai to movie 50cr. Kma legi toh movie 83cr + 50cr = 133cr.(verdicat- flop) Ok then relese Rockstar phirrr…. Bhai movie k daily 5 paise kmane ki bhi aukat nahi rahegi so movie Ra.one will washout and Rockstar on Track ok toh srk fans shut up b’coz tum sab log movie relese hone se pehle bhut khush ho rahe the ab khush ho jao…..
