Shahid Kapoor’s R.. Rajkumar (initially titled Rambo Rajkumar) has opened well at the domestic box office on Friday. The film took a 40-50% all-India opening in the morning. At mass centres in Central India, where Prabhu Deva films have a huge-following, occupancy was around 50-55%.
However, the problem for R.. Rajkumar lies in the reports that the film is carrying. While the response from single-screens varies from average to good, reports from multiplexes is mixed to negative.
Critics too haven’t given the film a thumbs up, with the film scoring just 36 on our review scale (Click to Read).
The success of R… Rajkumar is crucial for Shahid Kapoor, who hasn’t had a clean-hit since Vivaah and Jab We Met way back in 2007. Also, Sonakshi Sinha hasn’t had a hit this entire year with Lootera, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara and last week’s release Bullett Raja all failing to recover costs.
