‘Qaidi Band’ set to be the biggest disaster ever for Yash Raj Films

‘Qaidi Band’ is one of the biggest disasters of the year, as the audience showed absolutely no interest to watch the film on its opening day at the box office. The fate of the film was failed right on the day the trailer was released.

The film is a new low for an A-Grade banner like Yash Raj Films, as the first day collections are around the 11 lakh mark.

In the last 20 years, no other film produced under the Yash Raj Films banner has opened to such disastrous numbers. Even smaller films produced under ‘Y-Films’ banner like ‘Meri Dad Ki Maruti’ managed to collect 92 lakhs, Pyaar Impossible was very poor for a film with an a-list star like Priyanka Chopra, but that film collected 1 crore on its opening day.

The lifetime business of ‘Qaidi Band’ will be lower than the opening day collections of some of YRF’s biggest failures and that pretty much sums up the dismal box office performance of the film.

It’s also a new low for director Habib Faisal who showed promise with his second film ‘Ishaqzaade’ but it’s been downhill since with ‘Daawat-e-Ishq’ failing and now ‘Qaidi Band’ facing the worst possible rejection from the audience.

Aadar Jain joins Armaan Jain, who delivered one of 2014’s biggest disasters in ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’. That film opened at 65 lakhs on its opening day and that could well be the lifetime business of ‘Qaidi Band’.
