The critic reviews has been above average to great, the response from the audience too has been extremely positive.

what hogwash. Just because you call a movie Jodha akbar it does not become historical.I thought Rajputs segregated their womenfolk. bUt not in this movie. The Jodha family had very good tailors unlike the rest of the Rajputs who wear badly cut garments.
Why do the soldiers seem to be wearing costumes that make you think they are Roman centurions at a costume parade?
The movie was masterfully directed, each actor has done his / her job to perfection, the sets are stupendous BUT they dont gel with each other which makes the movie in my opinion the utterly, butterly, nonsensical melodrama that perhaps only people from certain regions would truly appreciatewould appreciate.

After reading all the reviews which said the movie was toooooo long, I did not go to watch the movie in the first 3 weeks. But, when I did watch the movie last week, I must say I had no complaints on the length. Hrithik was awesome and Ash was ok. It was a beautifully told love story, though it may not be historical. Hats off to Ashu for following his heart and giving us this marvel!!! I would not mind watching again…
