Our inbox has been bombarded with mails after the “PK Ticket Price” article that we published last evening. Aamir Khan’s spokesperson had said in a statement that the makers have decided not to increase ticket prices. But when we started receiving emails and tweets from our readers, we decided to do a quick research on ticket booking portal bookmyshow and a few exhibitors across the country.
The results were shocking.
The ticket prices of PK have not just been increased by 10-15%, but some multiplexes are selling tickets for 30-40-50% more than other releases. Premium tickets, at some centres, are also higher than other festival releases like Kick and Happy New Year.
In fact, a reliable source has informed us that Gaiety Galaxy has decided not to screen PK due to disagreement over ticket pricing.

Below is a quick comparison between the ticket prices of PK compared to normal movies and bigger releases like Happy New Year (HNY) and Kick.
- 24 Karat Jogeshwari (Mumbai) – Normal movies Rs 250, HNY / Kick Rs 300, PK Rs 300 (same as big festive releases)
- Big Cinemas Metra (Mumbai) – Normal movies Rs 350, HNY / Kick Rs 400, PK Rs 420 (higher than HNY / KICK)
- Fun Cinemas Shahdara (Delhi) – Business class tickets – Normal movies Rs 400, HNY / Kick Rs 500, PK Rs 600!
- Big Cinemas Ansal (Noida) – Normal movies Rs 150, HNY / Kick Rs 180-200, PK Rs 220.
- Cinepolis (Mangalore) – Normal movies Rs 150, PK Rs 200.
And finally, at PVR Forum Mall Koramangala (Bangalore), PK ticket prices have doubled. Night show of Action Jackson or Lingaa (Tamil) on a weekday costs Rs 190. For the same show tomorrow, a ticket of PK has been priced at Rs 380!
In short, the ticket prices of PK are either at the same level of Happy New Year / KICK or higher.

Entire bollywood is running on such tentpole movies, including this site and it is just ridiculous to try and bring down a movie which is the last hope of bollywood to redeem an already poor year. Pk would be a ood movie that is all you people need to know,period.
Aamir is the biggest liar and show off guy in Bollywood…I am not his hater, infact i love almost all his movies as he select the scripts wisely compared to any other actor in bollywood. But his behaviour is not good as he act. He once openly compared his stardom to SRK, He named his Dog as SRK , He didnt give credit to Chetan Bhagat for 3 idiots , Actually anyone who got common sense can understand that without Chetan Bhagat , 3 idiots would not have been possible. He once said that he believes in Logical scripts and took a dig against other actors who does masala movies , And last year he made the most illogical movie in the history of bollywood called Dhoom3 . And now he talks about fudging collections , I think there are few authentic sites in bollywood that we can believe like BOI and Indicine.And even after doing all these things he act like a perfect guy . To be honest he is a person with most fake behaviour in bollywood.

such a low quality people still can exist in bollywood.watch all of his movies neither he did changing role like BAAZIGAR/MNIK nor he could play a romantic role like DDLJ/KHNH nor HE can mesmerize the audience through films like CDI/SWADES nor he did an epic role like in DEVDAS.but he is too shatir he associated with multiactors only chooses critically acclaimed movie with huge entertainment,when did non entertainment classic used a child artist Darshil and made that super hit.then did south remake,then associated with legendary directors like rraj’s multiactor films,then signed biggest franchise of industry dhoom.then now also he is in a raju’s multistarrer films.even master blaster said this is amir’s best performance who still couldn’t did a challenging role,lol not bollywood’s best performance!!!!so expect another crap performance.
this is a cheapest trick from entire pk group.never expected this from raju but what can he does if frauds like amir and vvc exists there.last year also amir took extra screen and almost double ticket price to break simple film CE that face 3 big release with it.such a big loser never seen in my life.
that’s why he has no fans.no body wants him rather than his script even recently many industry people said they eagerly waited film raju’s movie not amir khan.it’s a challenge still amir codn’t break opening day collection of HNY even taking more screen and more ticket price.because KING KHAN is megastar and amir is a south remake/half actor and brand depended star.
We hope PK releases in Maratha Mandir as we have habit pf watching movies in low rates

From this article you seem to be spreading negativity against one of the best actors in India.. U as a bollywood site should understand that if ppl become disinterested with bollywood after watching craps lyk HNY which u hve sadly reviewed as a 4 star movie then it will b u at loss becoz they wont visit ur site as often

The producers and The cinemas need to reduce their ticket prices or in the future they will price some people out of the cinema and start going on the net.
Yes,ticket prices have been increased.. I have booked my ticket at rassaz cinema in Mumbai and while ticket prices of normal releases are 120-150 max. They were hiked to 150-200 during kick and happy new year and for pk it costs 200-250..all the above rates are for the last show where tickets are highest and pk has seen an increase of around 25%
Aamir khan is the biggest superstar in the history of Indian cinema. Pk will make history . world be gaga over aamirs pk when it release all those creating wrong claims. Should keep ur mouth shut. Rajukumar vhirani and aamir k will rule the box office already fr 3 months. SPK will be most loved movie of the decade like lagaan. Mind it if u guys criticizing aamir or his films 4 no reasons. Wait fr tomorrow to realise how big is this movie.

Also u din answer the second question.. anyways tell me who is distributing pk.. if its the production house lyk YRF distributes its movies then i cn agree that aamir may have sme say in this.. but if the film is sold to distributors they have every right to ask for price hike since they have lost money over the past two months.. so pls answer this question
@Divya, do you even understand what we are talking about? It was a press release from Aamir Khan’s spokesperson, that wasn’t just sent to us, but to everyone else too. IANS, TOI, Hindustan Times, IBN, DNA.
Bollywood enjoyed its highest profit recent years from theater income so I will not be listening when they cry about money being taken away/stolen through piracy. That along with higher ticket prices, will definitely see an increase in piracy and I, for one, don’t feel bad about that at all.
