As expected, PINK has shown huge growth in business on Saturday. The film wasn’t aggressively promoted, nor did they go all out to do city tours or try to sell the film through a controversy. It’s just content and word-of-mouth that has helped the film show huge growth in business on Saturday. Amitabh Bachchan’s presence has obviously added face value to the film.
It isn’t exactly a film that appeals to every section of the audience, especially those at smaller cities and towns, but PINK is working with the target audience and the growth in business was there even at tier-2 cities. It’s a positive sign and the film could continue the positive trend in the days to come.
The first weekend business is likely to be in the 20 crore plus range and Monday could well be at the same level as Friday.

77% growth from day 1 is huge. I watched last evening and did not find anything extraordinary in pink. It is all about women empowerment and how Society have double standard policies with regards to gender. First half except opening was boring second half was engaging.

Weekend will be around 20-21 Cr.
Weekdays expected to be in range of 4-5 Cr.
So 1st week around 40Cr.
Next week is Banjo which is different genre with low buzz.
Hence weekend 2 can be 18 Cr.

Shoojit Sircar has come into his own. Along with Neeraj Pandey, Aanand L Rai and Abhishek Chaubey, he is among the most exciting directors we have right now.
PS: I know he didn’t direct Pink, but he did produce it and had a big hand in it.

Good Growth in collections,should end up being a hit.This year so far has been very poor for the industry.Much poorer than 2013 & 2015!!!
Only four movies crossed the 100 cr mark and many big movies like FAN,MJD etc failed badly.
No Sequals worked big time (HF3 underperformed )
Only Content movies became profitable e.g K&S,Neerjaa,Pink etc.
No remakes worked e.g Akira,Traffic etc.
Hope Upcoming Movies like MSD,Shivaay,ADHM,Dangal etc end this year on a good note.
