Amitabh Bachchan’s PINK has passed the Monday test with flying colours as the film held on strongly on its first weekday at the domestic box office. The film is set to emerge a winner, as the strong hold on Monday could mean a total of close to Rs 35 crore in its first week.
The drop from Friday on Monday is just 12%, which is good, even though a lot of word-of-mouth driven films that open slow, sustain at around the same level as Friday.
PINK is likely to remain the first choice for movie-goers at multiplexes in the coming weekend too as small films like ‘Banjo’, ‘Parched’ and ‘Manmarziyan’ are scheduled to release. It remains to be seen how far the film will go and whether it’ll get close to our 54 crore LBO prediction.

Pink has done amazing business in the first 4 days . Pink has emerged successful and the credit goes to Aniruddha Choudhary, Shoojit Sircar, Amit Ji, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Angad Bedi . Pink is the first Hit of Big B in 2016 . Wazir and Te3n both failed at the Box Office but now Pink is getting commercial success+ critical appreciation . Pink can do solid business in the next one week as Banjo is looking quite dull . Not seen Pink yet but planning to watch in the weekdays . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are just movies released in this year………while every year people have welcomed good movies with both hands…….Just having a good script is not enough, the direction, acting etc., all have to fall in place……you cannot put blame only on audience when a director fails to connect with them….
Next time keep your abusing to yourself……We Indians love over the top entertainment, romance, action, comedy, while we equally love good, simple and social message movies too……so stop preaching…….we are different, we are unique…..and yes, we are Indians !!!!

It seems most of the audience who are appreciating the movie were seeing their own real lives… No wonder why this movie is only for high end multiplexes!! Shame on the current generation whose minds are corrupted!!
@JC it may not be first time( if I was wrong). but with a underdog film tag it did well. so congrats the sensible audience. we want people to support content oriented films not just star driven films.

@bablu : If only content driven small budget movies are appreciated then Bollywood industry will sink. They at least need one Sultan or PK compare to 3 Pink or Neerja, I am not talking about content but the money the star driven movies generates balances for the enormous losses industry suffers each year.
