Piku, Pink and Neerja are three of the best trending multiplex films in recent times. While Deepika Padukone’s presence helped Piku take a slightly better opening than the other two films, Pink is comparatively a little darker and less commercial.
At the end of 5 days, Piku is leading by around 15%. Neerja managed to catch up because of lack of competition at multiplexes for 3-4 weeks and tax free status in quite a few states. It remains to be seen where Piku goes from here and the day-wise comparison will be interesting to follow in the next 10 days or so.

Piku was an overrated film just due to deepika. The other two are better than piku.
Pink is awesome. The fact that it can even compete with pike and Neerja is a big deal

Pink trending like Piku and Neerja is really great bcoz Pink is way more darker film. Also Piku and Neerja were completely family movies but the same can’t said for Pink.

Genre wise very good comparison but cast wise it is not. Neerja had no one except Sonam whereas Piku had DP & Big B and pink Big B in a smashing role. Neerja success is slight bigger taking all factors into consideration.

I keep on saying Piku is an overrated film,it was so boring to me,Pink is really good hope it touches 70cr as for Neerja it is the best compared to these two.

@Navin : cinema should never be only about entertainment. It’s because of stupid audiance like you that indian cinema is still stuck with dumb masala movies and franchise like Housefull, Dabangg and other shits. In Hollywood, even blockbusters very often have a strong social message such as Mad Max, C.Nolan’s films and many more. Meanless entertainment is never enough, cinema is an artistic expression so it should be a way to cultivate to audiance.

I don’t get the hype about Piku.
Almost fell asleep watching it. Neerja is one of the best this year. The actress who played Neerja’s mother was outstanding.

Since people are comparing women centric movies, this is what i feel the best ones in recent times in mainstream cinemas……….the ones where we have only the leading lady with little or no big support…..ie., running solely on the lead lady’s shoulders….
1) English Vinglish…….it was Sridevi after almost 2 decades and nailing it……70 crores with a women centric movie with a two decade old actress is unheard of.
2) Dirty Picture……..nothing to say, Vidya Balan is outstanding
3) Queen……….Kangana is massively cute in this one…she is the queen of acting….
4) Neerja…….Sonam with a good content movie took it to, i guess, around 70 crs……awesome achievement.
5) TWMR2…….Kanganas’ awesome twin roles……nailed it perfectly……never seen before act in bollywood…..!!!!
6) Kahaani………the subtle expressions and vulnerability of Vidya’s character is unmatched…
7) NH10…..Anushka……brave effort….she has the ability, just need to try other aspects of her acting….and she will bloom in to a brilliant overall actress..
8) Highway……Alia Bhatt……she is a force to be reckoned with in future……..
Pink should get a national award And A Submission to Oscars.Best Movie of 2016.
