Aishwarya Rai launches Heroine at Cannes. The movie will be directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, who has directed several acclaimed movies, based on real-life incidents. Traffic Signal, Jail, Chandni Bar and Fashion to name a few.

Bhandarkar last directed Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, which was a comedy.

Talking about the movie, Aishwarya denied that the film is based on her life “It’s not a biography, it’s not an autobiography for sure”. She also sarcastically requested the media not to keep asking the same question till the release of the film “You hear this today, at the very beginning, so know this until the very end.”

Aishwarya plays the role of Mahi in the film.
