Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, a industry legend who has delivered yet another classic, has posted a message on his social-media page thanking his audience for “one of the most passionate responses” he has ever received for his film.
“I am absolutely overwhelmed with all the love that Dangal has got. It is one of the most passionate responses I have ever received. I want to thank everyone for owning the film as their own. It’s the biggest compliment a creative person can receive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. And thank you Nitesh sir. Love. a.”
Dangal has collected more than 350 crore at the domestic box office, making it the highest grosser of all time. Worldwide, the film has performed phenomenally well, collecting well over Rs 660 crore to become the 2nd highest worldwide grosser of all time after Aamir’s own film ‘PK’.
Released in theatres on 23 December 2016, Dangal was directed by Nitesh Tiwari.

Not denying that media always underestimates Aamir Khan. But footfalls must be counted. If a movie collects 200cr today we can’t call it as bigger hit than 3 idiots. We have to compare its footfalls (not collections) with 3 idiots footfalls to know the bigger success.
Dabang, Bodyguard, ETT, Kick, PRDP etc footfalls are around 2.5cr….i.e huge buddy. Just because a few Salman & Aamir movies recorded over 3+cr footfalls you can’t expect each movie to recieves 3cr footfalls.
Yes I m right Dangal never breaks PK record, it is short by 40 crores. PK =700 crores & Dangal = 660 crores.
@Navin no need to ask anything from team Indicine, I have habitual to their biased behaviour for Aamir. D3,pk and now Dangal is the latest example. Even if we exclude Pk China collection than Dangal is highest grosser worldwide in phase one. But guess what As an Aamirian I love to see how they have to defend themselves each time when they are wrong. I hope they carry on same behavior against Aamir and we keep enjoying their failures.
