Introducing Om Shanti Om
A movie review by a major Bollywood website was extremely positive. Oh well, how could I trust a reviewer who gave fantastic movies like Chak De India, Black, Rang De Basanti (and so many more) such low ratings? I believed the reviewer is quite fond of masala flicks, flicks which have major box-office appeal. (Are movie reviewers actually paid for positive reviews? I wonder..) So before I entered the movieplex, I had huge expectations from Om Shanti Om. The biggest entertainer in the country in a masala potboiler, positive reviews, great hype, 31 of the biggest stars in one item number - what more could one ask for?
Om Shanti Om Story
Om Prakash Makhija (Shahrukh Khan) is a junior artist aspiring to become a superstar one day and live life of luxury and comfort. He is a die hard fan and a secret lover of popular actress Shanti Priya (Deepika Padukone). His mother and Papu (Shreyas Talpade) are the only true believers of his talent. A fire accident on one of the shooting sets introduces Shanti to Om. As Om finds happiness and satisfaction he finds out an untold truth of Shanti being married to film producer Mukesh Mehra (Arjun Rampal) who kills her after she admits her pregnancy to him. As a witness to this crime, Om gets killed in a fight with Mehra’s men.
Om Prakash comes back to the world now as Om Kapoor, a star-kid. Om Kapoor is all set to take revenge on Mehra for killing his love Shanti. He plans a conspiracy with Shanti’s clone Sandy, his mother and friend Papu to make Mehra (who is now a big producer in Hollywood) confess about his deadly crime. Will the purpose of Om’s rebirth be fulfilled? Will Mukesh Mehra confess his crime? Whats the future of Om and Sandy?
Om Shanti Om Review
Technically Om Shanti Om is good, but as an entertainer, a major disappointment. The fact that it is such a terrible let down, is yet to sink in. What was Farah Khan (director) thinking? How could she make such a bad film, after directing a decent entertainer in Main Hoon Na? What was Shahrukh Khan thinking when he approved the script? How could almost everything go so wrong in a movie?
The movie has major flaws. Both the first half and the second have a lot of similarities, a few scenes actually are repeated! So if you miss the first half or you decide to walk out during the interval, dont worry, you haven’t missed much. The biggest flaw is you never feel for any of the characters, you laugh when the characters cry and vice versa. The transformation of Om Kapoor to Om Prakash in the second half, isnt handled well and is far from convincing. The transformation part is so very important in reincarnation movies, something which was handled brilliantly in Karan Arjun. The death scene, rebirth, flashbacks - needs expert direction, Farah unfortunately fails.
The script, screenplay and the direction is flawed. The dialogues are irritating. The only saving grace of the much hyped movie is the music. Main Agar Kahoon and Dard-e-Disco stand out.
Om Shanti Om Performances
Now the performance of the King Khan. After a career-best knockout performance in Chak De India, Shahrukh Khan hams in the first half. In the second half, as the new-age superstar, he fails to convince. A soda without fizz kinda performance by SRK. Personally for me, this is undoubtedly his most disappointing performance this decade. Deepika Padukone is promising in her debut, great screen presence. She expresses quite well through her eyes. Definitely a actress to look forward to, in the future. Shreyas Talpade’s role doesnt demand any histrionics, he is decent as the side-kick. Arjun Rampal is good in a negative role. Kirron Kher is over the top throughout, the only scene she excels is when she is supposed to scare Mukesh Mehra, in the second half.
In the special appearances, Akshay Kumar stands out in the filmfare awards scene. Even his nomination video is hilarious. He gets the house down with his typical trademark antics. Hrithik Roshan is also a part of the movie and so is Abhishek Bachchan (both are part of the Filmfare scene). Amongst the 31 stars in the item number, Kajol got the loudest of cheers.
IndiCine Om Shanti Om Verdict
Overall, another biggie that disappoints big time this year. I would be surprised if, die-hard SRK fans enjoy this. The only reason to watch it could be the technical brilliance!
So If Chak De India got 5 on 5 stars, this one deserves not a bit more than 1.

This is the first critic who apart from bashing any movie, also bash other critics. Mr. Indicine critic, who’re u to criticize other critics, each and every critic has his own taste and choice. Just mind ur own business. And by the way, u darely need some brain-washer. OSO is the best masala flick ever even surpassing ‘all time blockbuster’ Sholay. Lets wait for a week, u will see how OSO take and earth-shattering opening, which will be tight slap on ur ugly faces.

Mate - It’s not about criticizing any critic but it is about criticizing false review. One of the reviewers on net gave it 4 stars out of 5 but actually the movie is not worth that. I am yet to watch it but I am sure my views will also reflect with the reviewer’s. (Though SRK is again one of my favorite actors in the bollywood but Farah Khan certainly isn’t one of the good directors)

well guyz…i just saw the movie…..and its tremendous………either this reviewer has a bad taste or he is too ‘english’ for an indian movie………writing terns like ‘technically good’ does not make you a good reviewer, dear……do you have anything to say about cinematography……..and the editing……you are talking bout lights…….but let me tell you that when the main protagnists is delivering some dialogues, the focus has to be on him…….and SRK is the lead out here………lets talk about music……..i agree it may have a song too many….but isnt that the case in many other bolllywood blockbusters………now lets talk about sets…….have you ever seen such brillient art before?…….am not talking about the script here because you will not understand that…..am just reminding you that as a reviewer there are a lots of other technical things that needs your comment………i doubt if you have even seen this movie,………perhaps you were so eager to bash OSO that you decided to write the review before even watching it……………I attended the premier and am graduating with a film degree here in london, so i know what a film is all about………..its a typical bollywood entertainer and made for masses……..am not saying its there without any fault…..but my rating would be 3.5/5………just have fun watching this movie……..

First of all, im surprised @ the ppl who start threatening a reveiwer just coz they dont lyk his/her review!
Its a bloody movie! ppl get so serious about it, its annoying! Unless ur related to SRK, i doubt he gives a damn about u defending his perfomance in the movie. Yes SRK is a legend, and for good reasons. Yes he’s given us so much to make us fall in love with him…BUT it doesnt mean he’s immune to giving bad performances. Just coz a movie is typical bollywood, and just coz it includes a star lyk srk it doesnt mean its a great movie, Ive read a few reviews from obvious fans and 2 tell u teh truth all i got from them was that SRk was the best (which no doubt he probably is but ppl need to look beyond that) and that the movie was great coz SRk was in it n it was funni.
Some ppl mite think themselves film critics bcoz of film degrees but can u honestly say that that was the best performance SRK has given? Dont forget that if ur a true SRK fan then u know how good his acting is and that he has done way better in many of his other films! SRK is bollywood’s baadshah but he’s not perfect. Sorri but i felt really bad for the reveiwer who was obviously trying to give their honest opinion.

Shahrukh sucks …so does the movie … God knws wat Farah was thinking while directing this movie.
This movie itself is a mockery..just like Scary movie flicks in Hollywood … No doubt it is a commercially hit..but it’ll drive the audience out of the theatre …
As far as SRK is concerned he’s the producer and not at all bothered bout the story or the script …he’s just bothered bout the Greens …Paise do he’ll even strip for u …
Undoubtedly OSO is the major disappointment of 2007…

Mate - Thanks for the comment, Om Shanti Om will undoubtedly take a earth shattering opening. And it could well be a Hit, with all the hype surrounding it, at the box-office. But then so was Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.
I feel this will crash faster than KANK.

Just wait for the first week boxoffice numbers for OSO. Not only first week numbers, But i’m sure that the movie has enough potential to survive at boxoffice later too. And if it will not break D:2 record at boxoffice, then u guys can happily shun on me and those critics who write +ve reviews for OSO, and i’ve no objection on that. But if it will fail at boxoffice even below than a superhit, same the rule applied to all OSO haters esp. this Indicine Bachalan fanatic. And i’m very confident abt my later wording to be happened. i watched OMO yesterday.. n NO it didnt meet my expectations.
the same scenes n dialogues were being repeated over n over again. so very predictable..Deepika was superb. the ONLY reason i’ll watch this movie again would be just for the songs.
i actually liked Arjun better than SRK in this movie…atleast he didnt hve repeated dialogues. :))

By the way, u’re also like many other viewers who just can predict OSO’s fate at boxoffice at this stage when the movie is still to be released in India. Thanks for your comment Raj. I / We havent bashed any reviewer so far. But publishing a positive review 2 days before the movie releases to fool the audience into spending their hard earned money, is not acceptable! Especially since both the positive reviews that were out were from the Media partners of the movie.

I am into Masala Movie and was looking forward to this, I give OSO a perfect 10 …. completely enjoy the movie and worth every penny and time spent.
Importantly audience reaction is very positive …. applause, laughter, giggles were everywhere and people did not leave their seats until the end credits didn’t finished.
Performance wise …. SRK is superb …. Deepika is lovely and she is gifted …. the rest of the cast enacted their role to the T …. Farah is too good for a 2 films director …. editing is perfect …. cinematography, I love it.

Why did’nt u say this when he gave 4.5 stars to craps like D:2 and Krrish. First of all i remind u that the critic, bashed by Indicine, always has an inclination towards masala genre, he gave more importance to entertainment factor as all of us know, then why not he was bashed by these one earlier in any other movie review. I dont know where this ‘Indicine’ stands among various other famous bollywood websites, but my friend told me few hours before in a blog that it’s one of most prominent bollywood sites and their reviews are given a lot of importance among filmi zone. So, does this suits them to use such baneful words for such an honorable personality. I’m not talking abt the common viewers as they have right to bash anyone and to any extent. And I personally did’nt like the particular critic so much and only refer his reviews for boxoffice point of view, but to instigate people, by the most prominent personality against another highly esteemed personality in the same field, is certainly not their job.

I came here for a review of the movie but am leaving totally disgusted.
The way all your LOOOOOOOOSERS are sitting there bashing each other over a MOVIE review just goes to say what sorry lives you have. tsk tsk! Your only excuse is if you have personal stake in the success/failure of OSO. How much money the film makes in NOT the ONLY indicator of the QUALITY of the film

we indians are lousy just bcos its SRK crores of bucks we ll plunge into wasting hours over these movies..indian movies are outcaste these days. chak de was really good.after watching english movies i cant bear bollywood. i think i ll download the dvdrip…that too just because of the hype. Good job guys…after all ur

It surely was a disappointment but it just because the excess media hype….i agree that the movie was cut short and i never felt for Om Prakash Makhija or Om Kapoor…it did not brings tears to my eyes. Oh yes, it di make me laugh at several occasions and the Filfare scene being the best one of all. SRK actually dares to mock himself, that part has to be the best in the movie. Otherwise it wasnt as expected but still worth a shot
I am a die hard SRK fan but that doesnt mean that he ois my God or something that i can not critisize his film. His work was not bad. The storyline was, very cliched. It was a spoof of all the past actors or movies, funny in that sense but the first time of Bollywood.
Of Course it will recieve a 100% opening, no doubt abt that..Common’ its SRK after all….it will break all records, has been doing that since August.
Overall, i gues it is worth a shot.

What do you expect from indicine, I think it would be better for them to collect review and post it here. Just like Allbollywood.com is doing and have a 3rd rate wanabe reviewer to write review irregardless whether they view the movie or not. And this is probably the case here or just simply the reviewer knows nothing of Masala type movie and enjoy.
Maybe someone may want to give Indicine Team a template to write review so that they are more focus instead of hitting on other reviewer insinuating some wrong doing just simply the review came before public release. These team does not know what movie premier is about, they are so full of themselves.

Are you guys fighting for the movie or just SRK? Wake up people. SRK is not the only componet of bollywood. Om Shanti Om has many others who have contributed more or less equally to make it a complete movie. Fight for the movie on whole and just for an individual person.
I can see all the bad comments are from SRK’s fans. Honestly tell me just cause one review is bad are you SRK fans going to stay without watching the movie. For the name and image that he has even if 10 bad reviews are out his fan followers will just love the movie that he is in and not miss watching it. I neither like nor hate SRK or anyother star for that matter. When i go to watch a movie all that i look for is if its entertaining or not. And OSO was just d opposite. It hardly entertained. The first half was decent enough but the second half was just monotonous. After all the hype for months together this movie could have been much much better.
If i had to rate OSO i would rate it 1 on 5 stars having seen SRK’s Chak De and many such wonderful movies of his. Hats off to SRK for his supereme performance in Chak De but thumbs down for OSO, his performance was just ok.
Indicine doesn’t seem to be in favour of any movie or any actor. Your SRk starrer Chak De is just being praised by the same site. Take a look at it.
Favouritism is a big no no for any critic and i think this critic has done justice.

guys… guys… guys… Chill, its just a movie for gods sake. Why start declaring war on each other? I’m no movie critic or anything, i just watch movies for the fun of it, today when i went to see OSO i went to laugh my a.. off…. Which i did! :)). OSO was made for ENTERTAINMENT, to be part of the festive mood! It wasnt made to get critical acclaim, and i really loved the movie for that. Nice and fancy. I thought srk was amazin here, and Deepika is really nice as well. Shes got talent. The movie is a must watch, proper masala flick, MILES better than crappy movies like D 2, and Krrish.

hi all,
While I was watching the promos of OSO since last 1+ month on my TV after every 10-15 mins, it somehow gave me a reason for the doubt over the actual substance in the movie, after-all the lessons learnt from KANK and LCMD were already enough. So I decided that only after getting a good feedback from the sites I trust for reviews, I will book the tickets.
So I am yet to watch both the movies … OSO and Saawariyaa. And I visited this page just to confirm weather my doubts are true or not, and without any surprise I am convinced that this is one big mind-less movie which has been created with a motive to present SRK with a larger-than-life image and Diwali has been chosen for the release because we have 3 days continuous holidays…Fri-Sat-Sun…..also spending few hundred bucks for the movie alongwith those thousand bucks for Diwali shopping wont hurt our pockets much…. ;)
Well, all I can say that, all my near and dear ons who have seen the movie are repenting over the fact that didn’t borrow my advice……and now they are just suggseting me to watch this movie only only our systems that too by downloading the movie, and that too only when I am ready for a bheja-fry after the movie…….hahaha…what a shame for OSO.
I guess all those who are claiming it to be a blockbuster of the year and other tall claims fall into one or more than one of these categories……
1. A big time BLIND fan of SRK………carry on guys……..why dont you buy anything and everything he is selling on TV these days??? This way you will make him a bigger star, and you will be able to see him more and more on screen with such mind-less movies……go ahead……after the movie go for shopping the SRK promoted products too!
2. Loved watching Deepika Padukone…….well all I can say is that she is a better she doesn’t speak a word, else all the hype melts. I suggest that she is better as a model, and not as an actor. But for those who have already fallen for her, here are some of my advices to make her a bigger star…….a) you can start a Deepika fan-club and start posting your pics with ‘Deepika - I Love you’ written in blood.. b)start buying the products which she is endorsing … for the same reasons mentioned in point number 1 … c) Start watching OSO everyday…….and go with a different set of people (and you pay for their tickets too)…..tell them about your passion for Deepika……soon she will get a publicity by word of mouth……….and at the same time Deepika might call you for one of those ‘lucky winner gets to have lunch/dinner with Deepika’ .. etc etc
3. Just because people have wasted their time-money-and-energy over the movie, now they want others to waste the same…….too smart people!
Whichever category you fall into……….I am no one to stop you from watching this movie, but all I can suggest is that do something better……..watch an original 1970 fillm rather than wasting your time to watch a duplicate of 1970 movies………….well, would you like to watch Amitabh’s 1970 movie or would you want to watch AAG??? this seems to be the worst review……and OSO…..the best movie. I have watched it. it may not be for intellectuals but is a true blue masala flick with all the ingredients of a BLOCKBUSTER.

Sorry to say , but this critic is a jerk and not even good enough to be called an ameteur . This movie is very good , although not as good as Chak De India , but definitely a must watch. I am not one of those die hard SRK fans , but trust me on this. OSO is a good entertainer. Watch it and have fun.

Probably you all dont know that Deepika’s debut movie is a kannada movie which ran for 100 days called Aishwarya. Go check out on the website.
Indian movies dosent mean bollywood.

Trade cirle has given OSO thumbs up if only you care to check out their review. As you can see and read, these trade review (credible, professional and paid) avoid the use of “I” …. these are experience reviewer that wrote their thought without instigating others but rather wrote what they feel would be the masses view and appeal on the movie apart than their professional view point from A - Z.
Review with “I” view point is full of crap. As in this case the review here falls under the same “I” view point crap.

For its highlight on the cameos and nostalgic tryout by re-creating old music scenes so beautifully, Om Shanti Om might be undoubtedly good. the premise on reincarnation lovestory is also promising, but the second half execution that brought this movie to some kind of supernatural thriller is way too cheap. It would be 1000 times better if Farah and the team holds up the movie to a pure love story instead of playing horrors at the end.

“home Shanty home” sucks more than a 4 ton vaccum cleaner….at one point you are left thinking this cant get worse but then lo and behold…Far Ah Cant does it again…she goes to nadir…she produces more thrash and she is as imaginative as an ape from the zoo…i think you shud give this movie a pass and go to a circus of the zoo….

No I think Farah Can has been very imaginative….she is as creative as a baboon….her creativity gushes forth like the stream carrying sewage…SRK acts like he is some humanoid with no emotions…its almost like someone is using strings to make him act…if he acted a little more dumb he could be used a prop…Deep Paddycone is the only saving grace and thats thanks only to her looks…she should have been used as the background…
I think the interval was the best part of the movie…even the Bingo ad was more entertaining that this piece of crap…

Okay I’ve read about three fourths of the posts here in this forum to get sick of everything. Any post that find to be the slightest bit logical is completely bashed upon with totally illogical reasoning. A movie review is supposed to do what exactly this one achieved. It’s supposed to state WHY a movie is bad. Frankly, I dont see a problem in the author bashing the critics. If half the people who posted here have gone through the posts instead of just posting whatever comes to your mind, the discussion would’ve been a lot better. What do you expect from indicine, I think it would be better for them to collect review and post it here. Just like Allbollywood.com is doing and have a 3rd rate wanabe reviewer to write review irregardless whether they view the movie or not. And this is probably the case here or just simply the reviewer knows nothing of Masala type movie and enjoy.
Maybe someone may want to give Indicine Team a template to write review so that they are more focus instead of hitting on other reviewer insinuating some wrong doing just simply the review came before public release. These team does not know what movie premier is about, they are so full of themselves.

the number of actors in the film just show that how much the director is confident about her film.

I t was clear to me that the OSO team has literally borrowed the critics with all the money they have. Be it CNN-IBN or Rediff or any other news paper. I had some trust on CNN-IBN but now I know they also dance to the tunes of SRK. Such a shame!
Hence I searched other websites for honest reviews. One of them is “Mouthshut” were people give genuine comments about movies. There may be some bias out there also due to SRK fans and haters but on a bigger scale these exceptions usually gets normalized and cleaned out. What I realized by reading those reviews is that both OSO and Sawariya are not great movies.
Since the review in this site is written by a “team” (and not a single critic), it would be more useful for moviegoers. Also I checked out other reviews for several other movies in this site that I have seen myself and they really are in line with my ratings.
Good show Indicine team! I decided that I will not see Saawariya and for OSO I may see it in a DVD

I am sorry to have disappointed all my fans. I would also recommend that you dont watch this movie. I was drunk and forced to act in this half baked mind numbing excuse of a movie. I fell asleep during the first show myself in London and then the seats there were cushy so it was still worth the trouble. I would recommend you all steer clear of this movie and avoid it like plague. The movies insults the intelligence of even retards. The only person who does justice to his role in the man who created the set for the 70s sequences. But then why watch a make believe 70s movie. I would rather you watch some good AB movie instead.
The songs are good but would you really want to spend so much and watch songs.
On a different note…please go and watch this piece of trash so that I can make some moolah…the money grubbing freak that I am….

Hi all,
A hype was created in the media about this movie, Promos seemed intereting.. Songs seemed to be good.
But after watching the movie I have to say that ‘All that glitters is not Gold’
The movie is not good at all, there is just excess media hype and good marketing that will make the movie survive for some time. Almost each and every scene is quite predictable after the interval. Infact the whole storyline is really very predictable and lacks the impact. It would have been better if the movie was made in flash backs keeping an element of suspense. Almost, every scene from the first half is repeated in the second half.
SRK is good in patches in this flick. Especially some scenes from the 70s era he does to perfection. But he overacts a bit in the later part of the film.
The rebirth of Om is also not handled very well.The concept of rebirth demands some creativity, something better than the same guy with same face reborn and immediately starting to remember his past life.. deliverying the same dialouges again ..getting the same faced girl again … something better than this was required at least.
SOngs were OK.
Overall not so good movie….

I havnt seen OSO nd saawariya..nor am I too keen to see it. I have read many reviews of both movies and I must say the reviews from this site seems to be most genuine. Anyways every1 has a choice. and @Tamanna..I would give credit to those 12-13 girls for chak de and not srk. I think he could have done a little better. Anyways no offense to srk fans. Just an opinion..anyways guys chill its just a movie..dont we have many other things in our lives to worry about..if we put so much passion in our lives rather than fighting for reviews we could make things much better for ourselves..lol

I am a BIG FAN OF SHAHRUKH KHAN
But i agree with Indicine Team, their review is perfect and from normal audience point of view, OM SHANTI OM is bakwas.
The acting is average, story is non-existent, your heart doesnt feel for the characters. Biggest problem is second half. Its not a torture but a 3rd degree torture.
Kudos for putting up a honest review while the whole media was praising it. Great review, I am bookmarking this site and will visit it in the future.

I wholeheartedly agree with this review. All the good work that SRK did in Chak De India has turned to dust with this film. It’s because of films like OSO that people in the west don’t take Indian movies seriously. So until we really make a flm that has truly global standards, we should forget about aspiring for the Oscars. And one person who can really take Indian cinema to that level is Anurag Kashyap.

Well the movie is very colourful and fast….i liked the first half….but 2nd half not much…….2nd half could have made much better in different style…….1977 Om Prakash role was excellent….done a great performance…really nice to watch his charcter….deepika looks really traditional….the performance of Arjun rampal is one of his career best…..Om Prakash to Om Kapoor Punarjanm was accepted…..but i dont know the same looks of Deepika in the 2nd half too……????…..any way lets wait and see the critical reviews……On the whole Om Shanthi Om is a typical bollywood masala thriller……..But as i said ealier could have made difference………..Om Shanthi Om title track with 32 bollywood stars are a fantastic number and well picturised…….

I don’t thing Indicine is contradicting in their review:
Lets talk about the words you mentioned…script, screenplay and direction.
Technical comes thru all these and mostly comes after all these. As far as I know…
Script: A written version of the movie, provides the story line
Screenplay: After the script is ready they go for a film including dialogue and descriptions of characters and sets
Direction: this probably handles the above things with actors.
Next comes the technical dept…it starts with the base version of the above movie then…. with sound effects and picture quality..film processing…etc..makes it a next to final version perse…V1.0 then editing levels..say V1.1 or V1.2 will be released……..
what say??
I have not watched the movie yet….
If it is entertaining some one does not requires to entertain all and vice versa…and everyone has right to say what they feel about it with their experience on reviews…

Look likes fake SRK fans and SRK haters are having a field day on this site.
with 1 star review from indicine, I made it a point to check out OSO and I agree with the part on reincarnation, it is rather confusing but again it is a masala movie and the spoof on the actors and the filmfare part with Ashkay and ABJnr as well as the climax makes up the 2nd half entertainment. what is clear is this review is complete off balance and to give 1 star is certainly something fishy on the review actual intention. anyway i have yet to come across OSO review that gets 5 stars, but you will get one review for Saawariya with 5 stars from AllBollywood.com by Subhash Jha (AllBollywood.com staff) and that is a really smelly.

Hi All,
Today i have watched both movies, OSO & Saanwaria, after watching both movies, the comments of yash chopra came into my mind, which he gave sometimes back in his interview. He said that i am unable to make movies regularly these days because i do not have any good story. According to him, jitnii abhii talent kii kammii hai india main, itni pehlay kabhii naheen theee.
The comments given by a film maker who is working in bollywood more than 40 years are quite true. Because these days in bollywood, directors & producers are giving importance to clothes, sets, make-ups etc etc but they are not giving importance to stories or either they do not have good stories and that is the biggest dilemma of bollywood these days.
OSO & Saawanria, in terms of cinematography, set design, music etc are very good but man where is the most important thing, the story. Yes true films are larger than life but still the movie should have some sense in it. If we see Madhumati, Karz, Karan Arjun, although they were larger than life but still one tends to believe on the stories. But incase of OSO & Saanwaria, i am sorry, there is only gloss no substance. So if one wants to kill his time, he can go and watch but please dont expect that when you will come out of cinema, you will feel very happy.

I have search and this review from a reputable reviewer explains the reincarnation part which has confuse not only me but also the IndiCine Team group reviewer.

Both the movies have not exactly lived upto the hype. Farah Khan looked casual with SRK’s performances. It looks in certain scenes that Farah has okayed SRK’s performance in one or two takes only. I feel that SRK could have acted better in the film. But the movie is a superhit because it is aimed at the masses.
Saawariya is a body without soul. There is no story. however if you want to give yourself an eye-exercise, watch Saawariya. Ranbir Kapoor is quite promising

Everyone says its difficult to watch OSO even for a single time because you end up having a head-ache and keep waiting for the movie to get over. But see the stamina of Jean Grey he/she saw it 5 times…….man no offenses….but many ppl would love to know that what did you see in the movie which took 5 times to understand completely…….I am amazed at your un-matchable talent………I gues SRK should personally meet you and greet you for your courage to watch the movie for these many times and still walking on this earth……….hmm……now I know why SRK is a star!

Our film Directors have not yet graduated to make a Comedy Reincarnation Movie. Reincarnation movies are serious by nature and need mature handling, comedy reincarnation movie is too futuristic for India

SRK is nothing but a very hyped superstar. There are more idiots who like to watch him again and again. Just like each product has a targeted consumer group, SRK has his own, I do not mind that as long as it does not become too much. Enough guys, SRK is neither good looking, nor an entertainer and please do not call him actor at all. All his movies have either good story line or lots of tears with a very traumatic situation….and always some supporting actor or actress who never gets his or her due. Music has also ben a big fortune for him to make him look a success. But far from all these, he has been a very average actor and media in absence of any real super star of this era, has hyped him to be a “Super star”. He is nowhere close to Amitabh or other greats of yesteryears. Amitabh is giving him run for the money till date. In fact AB gave SRK a tough challenge during the peak yers of his superstardom as well. No offence to him as a person, he is a great presenter, I would in fact rate him ahead of AB on that front (like conducting the shows etc.). He is also a great human being a very good father husband and all, but please do not rate him so high on his acting front. OSO had to be a boring movie since there is no tragic angle where one could shed tears and feel for him, that his been his hallmark for success amongst most of the Indian and international emotional audiences.

who ever the dude MATE is …u alwasy seem to be taking box office collections as a yard stick to see if a movie is a hit or not…..sadly mate!!!a concept of a good movie is totally different from the concept of a hit movie ….its just a shame that many out there cant differentiate a good movie and a hit movie……if i would be accepting ur argument that OSO is a great movie just because its made good money is bull shit……then rajnikanth movies are the best movies …..no movies in india makes more money than his movies for that matter highest grosser in many countries…..as far as the movie is concerned …..i totally agree with the reviewer ……the movie sucks big time and yes its not a good masala movie….i dont expect a intelligent movie from farah khan that out of her league but even as a entertainer OSO fails miserably…its a pain to sit throug it ……and talking abt tecnical stuff….whats the use if the movie is technically good but u cant bear to watch it….rather prefer to watch a low budget movie which entertains…..u dont need to have a film degree to be able to comment on a movie….its just commonsense and u need to have a good tatste ….and yes SRK has let himself down…..and i guess farah khan who thinks the word of herself as director need to come down to reality …..she is better of dancing……atleat by dancing she save the pain caused to many (because of watching OSO)….

Yeah…. good movie are generally home video and they are really good if you know what I mean (with cinematic, artistic ….. and some even with monochromatic setting)
Hit movie are generally movie accepted by the masses (with repeat value and runs longer in cinema especially considering pirated DVD release a day after cinema release) and collect enough moolah to be considered Hit/SuperHit/Blockbuster Movie….
I just read Farah Khan interview…. OSO acceptance is overwhelming and bad reviews are only a few stray reviews (so Indicine is one of those stray review) … kudos to this lady with guts to direct a reincarnation entertainer specifically for Diwali.

It is rather better to talk to blinds than color blinds. You are a color blind to whom every act of SRK appeals for you do not have been able to develop a taste and ability to see thye real thing. People like you are part of problem in Indian society who can not judge what is right or wrong by taking the person out of the picture. Anything SRK will do is good for people like you. Grow up pal! He is a mediocre actor with a massive following (agglomoration of more ignorants like you) and has been hyped too much. There are much better actors in Indian film industry who get buried under such commercially successful actors. The end result is that we are deprived of quality movies and have to be content with OSO kind of useless crap. I applaud his movie CDI, though more than SRK’s contribution, it was story line of that movie which made it a hit. Tell me one single achievement of SRK which stands out and all (i mean all, not SRK color blinds) will acknowledge. If you think that by writing FO you can justify your point then you are mistaken. You better FO from here and go and watch OSO for 100 times which is more serious punishment than capital punishment!!!

i went to watch OSO Again :d its good u knw… just appreciate it as a fun movie. its definitely not the best movie of the year but yes one of the most entertainin (IMO)
i’ll still rate it with three stars coz its an average movie. (am i just sayin the same thing again :?)
