Om Puri’s last film will be Salman Khan’s Tubelight

Veteran Actor Om Puri, who passed away earlier this morning, will make his final appearance on the silver screen in Kabir Khan’s upcoming film ‘Tubelight’ starring Salman Khan in the lead.

Puri, who had previously played an important character in Kabir-Salman’s last film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, will also be seen in a film ‘Viceroy’s House’ which releases in the first half of this year.

While we haven’t been able to get confirmation on whether Puri completed his part of the shoot, Kabir Khan tweeted earlier today recalling some of the memories they shared.

“Omji… u were laughing with us on set just a few days ago! We have lost one of the greatest actor & the warmest person in the film industry. I will miss that warm tight hug that you gave me every morning on set. Khudahafiz sir… you were the best!” Khan tweeted.

In one of his earlier interviews, Om Puri had spoken about the character that he plays in ‘Tubelight’.

The actor had said “I have a very interesting sympathetic character. If you remember I had played a sympathetic liberal Pakistani mullah in Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan. It’s good to be cast in characters with unexpected shades of empathy. Kabir knows how to use actors in the best way possible”

Om Puri passed away at the age of 66 after suffering from a massive heart attack.
