Noor Box Office Collection Update: Crashes on Monday

Sonakshi Sinha’s Noor has been rejected by the audience, as the business of the film has come crashing down on Monday. The drop in business is more than 50% from Monday, which is acceptable for a film that gets a strong initial – but a poor for a film like Noor which was extremely dull on its first day itself.

The drop was expected because multiplexes were selling tickets at reduced prices during weekdays and the number of shows of Noor were reduced on Monday too. Yet, the occupancy for even the night shows was less than 10% at metro cities.

It isn’t even about the film or word-of-mouth here. It’s clear that the audience isn’t interested in small films – when they can save up money and watch a much bigger film like ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ in less than 3 days from now.

There is also the 2-week old ‘Fast and Furious 8’ which is still performing at fairly good levels and has collected around 1.5 crore on its 2nd Monday – to take its India business to Rs 82.5 crore.

Noor Collections:

  • Friday – 1.54 crore
  • Saturday – 1.89 crore
  • Sunday – 2.09 crore
  • Monday – 70 lakhs (approx)
  • Total - 6.22 crore

  • If Sonakshi had been paid 50 crore for Noor like male superstars then this would have been a bigger disaster than BV.

    1. Sandwiched b/w Fate of Furious and Bahubali 2.
    2. Too many Women centric films in last 2 months.

    4. Sonakshi is not termed to be a good actress
    5. budget could have been tight.
    6. It’s actually a Below Average film.

  • @indicine If she had been given equal fees to male superstars, Budget would have crossed 60-70 cr. LOL

  • I am saddened why female centric films are failing. Is bollywood a sexism place? No wonder actresses above 30 years have no career anymore. I am a Nigerian, in my country women above 40 years are doing wonders in the cinema. First it was taapse, vidya and sonakshi moves tanking, wonder what will happen to shradha and kangana upcoming movies. Indians really needs to be educated about seeing women as they see their men. My opinion and nobody should rant under my comment. Indicine please post. Don’t be biased now. Thanks

  • Sad for sonakshi, what is the hurry, to choose a good story is what determine the good films so don’t bother when producers rushing to you, make wise choice.
