Salman talks about the success of Sultan, his biopic, Dangal and more

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who is riding high on the success of ‘Sultan’, has said the biggest compliment that he has got so far is from the people of the country – especially the repeat viewers who are watching ‘Sultan’ multiple times in theatre.

“The compliment that I got is from the people who are watching the film again and again and what more can I ask for? There cannot be any bigger compliment than that” Salman said.

Talking about his ‘raped woman’ comment and the reason for not apologising for what he said, Salman said “So now should I give you (media) something to survive for the next two weeks? If I don’t say anything, I am boring. See I understand your responsibility towards your job. But, if I say something, my people won’t like it.”

“So you guys tell me what you want me to do. If people are taking advantage of silence, you reply, you don’t reply. People will still write what they want to. I may say something, it will be taken as something else. ‘Phir ek statement ko ghuma firake kya hota hai’ you also know. It’s sad.”

When asked if he would consider a offer if some filmmaker wants to make a biopic on his life, Salman said his life is boring and “many people will die” in his biopic.

“No, never, because for that one will have to write it down and the only one who can write it down is me or my brothers or my sisters and that too some bits of it because they don’t know everything…. My life is very boring life. Nobody makes a film on such a boring life.. many people will die in my biopic”

Salman also spoke about the impact of ‘Sultan’ on ‘Dangal’ which is also based on the life of a wrestler.

“Everyone is aware of ‘Dangal’ much before ‘Sultan’…. ’Dangal’ poster is nice.. Aamir sitting with four girls, it’s very nice. Have you seen his body, he is after me. I gave him advice ‘do not make 6 pack abs it’s a role of a wrestler’. He said Sushil (Kumar) has made it but I said you don’t get 6 pack abs.”

Recently, at a press conference to launch the poster of ‘Dangal’, Aamir has said Salman is a bigger star than him.

When a journalist asked Salman about this, the actor said “He doesn’t lie about anything.. that is one thing about him.. he doesn’t lie.”

Salman also said his dad, Salim Khan, is his biggest and most honest critic.

“My dad is my biggest critic so his reaction is important. He comes back (after watching a film) and says forget it and go off to sleep. Sometimes he says forget this film and work harder on your next one”

“My father is writing articles right now, he is tweeting right now and he is fantastic..”

Going forward, the ‘Sultan’ star said he is going to be very choosy when it comes to doing films as the success of every film has become important for him

“I am very choosy. The amount of films I used to do earlier, I don’t do them anymore because I am choosy with the films I am doing” Salman said.

Released in theatres during Eid last week, Sultan has collected Rs 248 crore at the domestic box office.
