  • congrats to srijit for winning best director award for chotuskone and bringing pride to bengal even though I didn’t like that film.

but best popular film should hv gone to pk.mary kom simply doesn’t deserve this honour

  • it’s a big shame that pk has been sidelined completely from the award simply bcz of that anti hindu controversy.I m disappointed with this yrs national award bcz of ignoring a film like pk for a nonsensical reason

  • How does mary kom win best popular film? It only received average to above average reviews and WOM. Queen was much better.

  • As always south film industry maintained their image in quality of films .
Surprise, only a few awards for Bengali now!!

  • Why Mary kom?, they could have given it to pk or even queen
P.S.:all biographical films are not always the best films

  • Really good to see Kangana getting National Award for her fabulous performance in Queen . In 2014 according to me only 2 actresses deserved National Award – Kangana and Rani . She was absolutely natural in her performance and she never looked like Kangana she looked like Rani . I am happy to see Haider getting so many awards . I am shocked to see Vijay getting a National Award . Because poeple always say he is a Massy Actor but winning the National Award is not a joke . So this is Kangana’s 2nd National Award after Fashion . She got Best Supporting Actress Award . @ Indicine I have a question for you in the last 10 years i have observed that Hindi Female Actresses are getting more National Awards as compared to Male Actors .
    Have a look :
    2009 – Priyanka Chopra – Fashion .
    2009 – Kangana Ranaut – Fashion(Supporting Role) .
    2012 – Vidya Balan – The Dirty Picture .
    2015 – Kangana Ranaut – Queen .

All these ladies are popular actresses . In the last 5 years who have got National Award for Best Actor are Irfan Khan for Paan Singh Tomar in 2013 and Rajkumar Rao for Shahid in 2014 . Both of them are brilliant actors but they are not popular they are considered as Actors of Parallel Cinema . @ Indicine Please i want your reply for this question this is a really important and interesting question . I am waiting for the answer .

  • Happy for Queen as it has won the two Major awards. Haider also deserved all the awards. I have said it earlier. No songs deserve the best choreography award more Than Bismil. I am happy that Bismil has won this award!
I wonder how Filmfare gave this award to Jumme Ki Raat.
    I have 2 complains:
1.Best popular film should have been “PK”. It was way better than messy “MaryKom”.

    2. How could they completely ignore some well appriciated films like Ankho Dekhi,PK and Dedh Ishqiyaa.

Filmistaan had got best feature film in 2013. So no complains for it!

  • No Indian awards are perfect. While Filmfare had sucked in Choreography, Action and Music catagory, National awards sucked in Best Film providing wholesome entertainment.

Last year National Awards had ignored The Lunchbox, Lootera, Kai Po Che, Special 26 etc. But, The Lunchbox is continously getting more and more International awards! This year also they have ignored some good films awarding only two Bollywood films ( Queen and Haider )!

  • Really Mary Kom??? Neither it provided wholesome entertainment nor it was that popular…
    PK deserved it…
Last year they gave it to BMB which deserved but this one did’nt..
National Awards too are not 100% credible..

  • Ankhon Dekhi deserved atleast one award..I just loved this film, such a refreshing story it was..Atleast they could have named it in special mentions.

  • ‘Chotuskone’-The Bengali Mistry is a must watch. The movie will make you speachless at the end of it……Great work Srijit….(Last year his film ‘Jatiswar’ won 4 national awards):It’s not easy to make a award winning movie every year. And he has done it.After The Lengedery LATE RITUPARNO GHOSH NOW Srijit would make Bengali proud with his continuity by winning national awards.

  • Just wait for fan
mark my words our king will win both oscar and national award becoz fan is full of content

  • Kangana darling rocks

“mary kom” just an avg film at bo how can it b the most popular film which provided wholesome entertainmnt
may be they preferd it just for insipiration

  • I am looking for my favourite actor sharu khan’s name here then i realizd that this is national awards not kela awards

  • @some buddha mukherjee

For once your mouth has spoken the truth before your idiotic mind could have halted it…

PK should have got the award as most popular by any definition would have inevitably meant PK scores more than any other film…. If it was critics choice then still Mary Kom shouldnt win so thats a very puzzling decision…

  • I mean, WTF?
How can you give Mary Kom, an award?
It was a mediocre film that didn’t deserve anything.
People need to know that not all biopics are brilliant. It was poorly scripted, factless, poor screenplay and acting.
Popular film? There have been many popular films in 2014, Mary Kom isn’t one. Pathetic!

  • If PK wasn’t the most popular(brilliant too) and talked about film of 2014, God bless the jury of these awards. Utter nonsense this!

  • BTW, why didn’t SRK get the National Award for being the ‘Most popular actor with 3.7 Trillion Fans’ award. He deserved it.
Farah Khan should’ve got the Best Director.
    Deepika Best Actress.
Best husband award should’ve gone to Shirish Kunder for being Farah’s Husband.
This is so unfair. Movies like HNY don’t get anything while pathetic movies like Harder and Queen get so many awards.

  • Thanks to them they didn’t gave PK any.

Again i am not happy with their way to give separate prize for hindi, tamil, punjabi etc as it is a national award and it should be given to 1 movie only be it bolly, tolly, polly etc as it diffentiate, n then u can’t cal it as a national award.

Also their level of dignity has decreased once they give HUM TUM ahead of SWADES.

Again PK didn’t deserve any i strongly know as it just make a mockery of hinduism and worst part of that is they didn’t know even

  • It was a spectacular act by Arjun in gunday n 2states,it got ignored….shame shame national awards.
Arjun deserved BAFTA,Oscar for his performance…

    All award shows ignore him.
