Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, whose film ‘My Name Is Khan’ completed 7 years of release, expressed sadness over the plot of the film still remaining relevant today – given the increasing plight of muslims after the 9/11 attacks in 2001.
“It’s kinda sad too that ‘My Name Is Khan’ is still relevant. But thanks Karan, Ravi, Kajol, SEL Shibani Niranjan Deepa Jimmy and all cast/crew for a special film” Shah Rukh tweeted.
The actor’s tweet is also being seen as criticism towards US President Donald Trump’s executive order to temporarily bar entry into the US to refugees and citizens from seven Muslim-majority nations.
The director of the film, Karan Johar, thanked SRK and said “Thank you Rizvan for spreading your love, your message, your innocence… Seven years of ‘My Name Is Khan'”
Released in theatres on 12 February 2010, My Name Is Khan collected Rs 210 crore worldwide. It was the biggest overseas grosser of all time when it released and performed better outside India.
Shah Rukh won his 8th Filmfare Best Actor award for performance, his last to date.
Producers like FilmKRAPP, Laal Mirchi n Baba Gurmeets Studios have made believing in producers figures as difficult as believing ‘Muslims are not terrorists’ when we see images daily of muslim terrorists killing innocent souls…!

though i have promised not to comment because of losing bet but here i have to say that my name is khan as far as i remember was not the highest grosser of all time in overseas, it fell well short of three idiots. in fact our global queen chased three idiots till 2015 xmas release dilwale while salman gave bajrangi bhaijaan earlier which was the highest grosser of all time in overseas in first phase with a eid release which is not as good as xmas in overseas . he gave srk 2013 eid in bheekh but it was nowhere near three idiots in overseas and it failed to beat ett’s opening day record which confirms that srk is nowhere near salman if we talk about opening.

I have requested Indicine many a times to not devalue classics by box office numbers but they just tend to be obsessed by it.. I am sure someday they will post collections of Mugal-E-Azam and say that it is a smaller film compared to Jolly L L B 2 :)

@zeb indicine does not declare its sources. It says figures of producers are inflated and figures of BOI are underrated/deflated. But it does not provide any evidence behind this statement. You call it a non-corrupt site and says it reports “actuals” when you do not know which people are doing this work (who are part of Indicine Team?) and what their sources are.
Just because they report figures in between BOI and producer figures, does not mean they are providing actual figures. The only reason why I follow producer figures is because there is a person who is taking responsibility of the work he is doing. I am confident that Rakesh Roshan and RCE will be able to provide account of every single penny they have mentioned, only because, despite the criticism they have continued to report their collections in public. This is what makes me trust their confidence. Whereas all those trade analysts/websites accusing them have neither provided even a single statement from any of their sources nor provided any proof.
A few days back, @indicine reported that an audio clip was leaked where a PR was providing instructions to his team. This looks more like a cooked-up story by indicine and a few other Trade Analysts as nothing of this sort has been reported on any major news channel. If indicine would have been on the right side, they would have released the audio clip to add more weight to their statement.
Note: I mean this for every so-called “inflated” movie including PRDP, Shivaay, HNY etc.

And FYI, CE paid previews were held after noon a day before release, after 5 pm . It had earned 7 cr then, a lot of die hard fans had watched it. So 7 cr paid preview and 32 cr nxt day full fledged release!!!! Ek tha Chinkara directly got released on Aug 15

@ sayar yes i know chennai express had paid previews , so what? three idiots also had paid previews in 2009 but still it broke the opening record by huge margin. there are many films like bajrangi bhaijaan, pk , dangal who broke single day record on their 3rd day after release after almost collecting more than 60 crore net in the first two days. so just because ce collected 7 crore net in paid previews that cannot be a reason for failing to beat ett’s opening day or single day record, it failed to match the hype of ett despite of having deepika, rajnikanth and lungi dance.
@nn has any srk fan the guts to bet with me. where were you when i challenged all the srkians. so now why are you comming . i thought the film will release in 2700 to maximum 3000 screens according to indicine , that was the base of my challenge,. but later the film released on 3400 screens and on that amount of screens 25 crore is to less on national holiday. ett released in 2012 did 30.61 crore net on 3300 screens and that was also a national holiday. so in 2017 with much hiked ticket price 26 crore net of raees in 3400 screens is nothing. and yes i said that if i lose my bet i will comeback only if tubelight breaks all time weekend record or i may comeback during tzh if it does 38-40 crore net in solo release or 28-30 crore net in a clash on opening day. go and see the prediction page of raees and kaabil by indicine of their opening day.

Raees net collections according to boi is 130 crores.but Raees did well in single screens too.and it is very difficult to track single screens collection.so if trade figure is 130 crore then Raees must collected somewhere near 140 crore.like Shivaay whose trade figure is 84 crore and producer figure is 100 crore.Shivaay also did very well at single screens.
