Mohenjo Daro has sustained well at the domestic box office, crossing the 50 crore mark by the end of its first week. It’s a poor total, because most big films cross the 50 crore in 2-3 days, but it also goes to show that Mohenjo Daro hasn’t faced complete rejection.
The film has done reasonably well, given the poor start that it took and has also shown excellent growth of nearly 45% on Raksha Bandhan. The problem in the second weekend will be the lesser number of shows. The show count has reduced by more than 60% from Week 1.
The Hrithik Roshan starrer has collected around $3.5 million in its first week overseas, which should help take the film beyond 100 crore worldwide (gross) by the end of its run.

@indicine, why hritik does not take profit share in movie? …he should not charge fee for movie…b’coz it adds the budget….he needs to do 60 to 80 crores budget type movies…would be better for hr…otherwise toh due to high budget movies, would not be able to achieve high status…hr needs to work on it very quickly..

I m Akshay Fan want to know the reason behind the success of Rustom as movie is not Big Budget and not for the mass and if you compare with the movies Like baby and special 26 so sorry but it is not that even Gabbar is back was better then Rustom so want to know reason behind not just for Rustom but many times we have seen this movie which dont have potential and earn much more then that Tanu weds Manu Returns another example..

After the poor opening of Mohenjo Daro it was expected to be a disaster but it has done well in the weekdays . The problem is it could not show consistent growth during the weekdays that must have taken the movie to a respectable total . The number of screens will reduced in this week because of the poor performance in the first week . Rustom and Happy Bhaag Jayegi will get a good number of shows this week . Clash and Negativity has hurt the movie dearly else the collection would have been different. Same goes to Rustom but in a opposite way. The clash has helped that movie earn more than Mohenjodaro..!!! Hope Kaabil and Raees clash averted..!!!

forget abt da collections my doubt is why did it open with such shocking occupancy in the morning shows.if hrithik is superstar atleast the opening must hv been huge .after all this is hrithiks 1st movie after 2 yrs.hrithiks fans only rant in indicine like mj will crush rustom ,its 1st day collections will easily cross 20cr etc etc but when the movie released his fans becomes eclipse not just in cinema halls even at indicine.

Reason of Rustom succes I will tell you > Akshay kumar; whose every movie takes 12 to 15 cr opening every time due to his loyal fan Base , Awesome trailer, Akshay kumar’s popularity in this genre, Good storyline. That’s it. Only the direction was bit weak..!

Dumb Akki fans will never get the simple concept that longevity and career stardom is measured by ATBB’s, BB’s and top annual grossers and footfalls. Hrithik has a career of 3 top annual grossers (2000.2003 & 2006), 6 BB’s (including K3G) and 5 films with 2cr+ footfalls (2 with over 3 cr footfalls). Akshay on the other hand has 0 top annual grossers (Lol!), 3 blockbusters (multistarrer Mohra, Welcome and Rowdy Rathore) and just 2 films with over 2 cr footfalls (Mohra & RR). Is there even a comparison?
If Rustom beating MJD makes Akshay a bigger star than HR, then Sunny Deol>>Aamir as Gadar beat Lagaan and (Akshay+Ajay)>>(Salman+Aamir) as Suhaag beat Andaaz Apna Apna. This is the most ridiculous and bizarre logic i’ve ever heard.
