Mohenjo Daro’s struggle at the domestic box office will end this week, as the film has crashed in its second weekend. The Hrithik Roshan starrer has crossed the 55 crore mark, which is a poor total for such a big film. The film will finish with lifetime collections of less than 60 crore.
The growth on Raksha Bandhan was good, but the reduction in shows along with the fact that both Rustom and Happy Bhaag Jayegi were the first and second choices at multiplexes – resulted in Mohenjo Daro not finding too many takers.
IndicineLBO: We predicted 54 crore as the lifetime box office collections. The film has crossed that number, but will finish with collections of around 58-59 crore.

What was feared after watching the first trailer of the film back in June has now officially been confirmed. Mohenjo Daro is a fiasco of epic proportions! The movie has not only made monumental losses for its distributors, it has also been completely rejected by all sections of the audiences alike. There are some films like Swades and Lakshya which despite their below par box office returns end up making an impact among a certain section of the audience and acquire a cult status in the long run. Unfortunately, Mohenjo Daro does not belong to this category either. For Hrithik Roshan, Mohenjo Daro is a huge setback, perhaps the greatest setback of his career since 2003. Although he did have huge flops in Kites and Guzaarish back in 2010, the circumstances back then were a bit different. Kites in spite of being a huge flop was a solid opener nevertheless. The movie opened at 10 cr nett plus on a non holiday Friday in the month of May. That would equate to roughly 18 cr nett in today’s scenario. Guzaarish was a low grosser no doubt, but even that movie acquired a bit of acclaim among the urban audience as well as the critics alike. In comparison, Mohenjo Daro has failed on every front.
Neither mohenjo daro nor Rustom crossed $ 8 million in overseas. Strange, isn’t it ????????

The failure of Mohenjo Daro has been extremely disappointing and shocking . Box Office is extremely unpredictable . Anything can happen with anybody . 2016 has been a very dull year for Hrithik with the failure of MD and the legal battle with KR . I hope HR makes a solid turnaround with Kaabil in 2017 . I hope he also does one more movie in 2nd half of 2017 . I still believe MD deserved better collections but maybe this was bound to happen . !!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is only the beginning for Hrithik as Kaabil will not even cross 50 cr if it clashes with Raees. Change your date Guddu otherwise you’ll be finished. Though MD could be one of the biggest disappointment for Hrithik, i would like to appreciate him for taking such out of box roles and doing something different. MD was a good attempt to do something different in this Industry and it achieved it. We hardly see any out of box movies like MD anytime. If the top stars don’t take this kind of risk and do differently who else will do it? Though box office collections is disappointing it will defiantly be a lesson and guide to other filmmakers to do something similar to this and make it more entertaining.
60 Crores business is fine with clash, but it could have crossed 100 crores without clash which is in the collection range of all stars except Khans.

Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro has turned to be a huge disappointment at the box office. The film has manged to collect only 51.18 crores in its opening week and 4.88 crores in second weekend as per three days estimation now total collection is 55.06 crores !!!
But where is the Overseas box office collections of the same movie why you finalising movie collection before mentioning overseas also !!!
Nevertheless, this epic-adventure romantic film has managed to surpass the collection of Kites and Koi… Mil Gaya to become Hrithik’s 8th highest grossing film of all time at Indian box office collection.

Kudos to the entire team for such a wonderful movie.
The only disappointment as far as the film was concerned was the crocodile fight. Every thing else was so well brought out.
The result though is not shocking coz rustom went by the mood of the nation by bringing in so called patriotism in the film. And also because people trying in to bring hr.
Bet Rustom with a solo release wouldn’t have collected this much

After debacle of MD hr fans & srk fans are little disappointed . Its funny that they are saying Rustom got the benefited because of MD . Neither MD has commercially or critically acclaimed in each & every Rustom defeated MD . Even Airlift film time two small film were clashed with Airlift they dent the collection of Airlift . Can we say that both film got the benefit due to Airlift ?
