Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt are in Kota (Rajasthan) to shoot for their upcoming film ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. Soon after word spread that Varun and Alia are in town, a huge crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the stars.
The situation soon got out of hand and police forces were called in to control the crowd. Alia couldn’t get out of the car, but Varun did his bit by waving out to them.
The industry hasn’t produced too many mass heroes in the last couple of decades. Superstars like Salman, Shah Rukh, Akshay (just to name a few) are still the most popular actors at smaller centres.
It remains to be seen which actor from the younger generation can fill the void left behind by these actors in about 5-10 years from now. Varun and Ranveer are certainly two of the top contenders right now. Films like Main Tera Hero, ABCD 2 and Dilwale have helped Varun gain a strong following at smaller centres, but he hasn’t yet done an action-entertainer that caters to the masses. We think it’s about time.

I have never disliked him in any of his films except Dilwale. He has a pleasing personality and good looks. Surely future superstar if he does good films. He should not do too many Dharma movies. One day they’ll give him a film like Baar Baar Dekho and all good work will be undone.

Tiger Shroff can be a Mass Hero if he does movie like Heropanti and Baaghi. A Flying Jatt is a concept gone wrong. Seriously a super hero afraid of heights? That’s a joke.
Although Varun is way ahead than other young actors but I still doubt such huge crowds came to see him only. There was Alia also na? She is also very popular actress.

Well Kota is a place which is full of students and there is hardly any source of entertainment, so if a bollywood celebrity visits it, such chaos is expected. Ranbir, Ranveer, Sid or even Shahid would have generated so called mass hysteria in Kota on any given day. No big deal.
Now this is what we call super stardom.
I think the opening of Dishoom vs opening of films like BBD, Ki and Ka, Flying Jatt, etc shows just how big Varun is already, with BKD and Judwaa 2, he will be massive.
What’s good about the current generation is that they are really serious about their career. The choice is script shows it. Unlike the arrogant youngsters of last decade(Abhishek, Bobby, Zayed, Fardeen, Tusshar,etc) who just survived by playing supporting in big films like No Entry, Heyy Baby, etc.
Main tera hero was best in entertainment value .

I was in kota for 2 years before I cracked Medical Entrances and got admission in MBBS.

This city has about 2 lakhs of students and Most of them are Berojgars.

In Dusshera,there is a ‘Mela’ for about 30 days in a big ‘Maidan’.

Every single day in Dusshera a big celebrity comes to perform in ‘Dusshera Maidan’ and trust me the crowd goes crazy for them.

Even HR(Himesh Reshamia Lulz),Anup Jalota,Pankaj Udhas gather more people than Varun.

Varun Doesn’t hve that macho look so it will be difficult to build a fan Base at smaller centres, he can do it only by comedy like govinda ….!
And I think akshay salman has bigger fan Base than srk at smaller centres or small cities/towns .no one can match their popularity in North especially….!
Alia can also be a bigger reason of this crowd I guess…!

Yes, even Balika Bahu fame Avika Gor was received with so much fanfare in Kota. She was just there to attend a school function as chief guest.
Boxoffice figures speaks for Varun Dhawan’s pull, not this crowd gathering of Kota which consists of youth of today not the single screen audience.
