Madras Cafe to release on August 23rd

With Satyagraha now scheduled to hit screens on August 30, director Shoojit Sircar and producer John Abraham have decided to release their upcoming film Madras Cafe on August 23.

The decision to prepone the film didn’t come as a surprise, as September is jam-packed with movie releases and August 23rd was the only available date for Madras Cafe if a clash with Satyagraha was to be averted.

From the makers of Vicky Donor, Madras Cafe is an Indian political thriller. John Abraham plays the character of an Indian intelligence agent, while Nargis Fakhri (of Rockstar fame) plays a journalist. The film also deals with terrorism.

The shooting schedule of the film was wrapped up in March and the post-production work is almost complete.

The first trailer of Madras Cafe is likely to be released in the first week of July. Stay tuned to Indicine for all the updates.

  • Good decision from John. Now all SRK and Akki fans will say John is not a big star and so his movie wont affect CE or OUATIM
