Maa Lyrics

Main Kabhi Batlata Nahin
Par Andhere Se Darta Hoon Main Maa
Yun To Main,Dikhlata Nahin
Teri Parwaah Karta Hoon Main Maa
Tujhe Sab Hain Pata, Hain Na Maa
Tujhe Sab Hain Pata,,Meri Maa

Bheed Mein Yun Na Chodo Mujhe
Ghar Laut Ke Bhi Aa Naa Paoon Maa
Bhej Na Itna Door Mujkko Tu
Yaad Bhi Tujhko Aa Naa Paoon Maa
Kya Itna Bura Hoon Main Maa
Kya Itna Bura Meri Maa

Jab Bhi Kabhi Papa Mujhe
Jo Zor Se Jhoola Jhulate Hain Maa
Meri Nazar Dhoondhe Tujhe
Sochu Yahi Tu Aa Ke Thaamegi Maa

Unse Main Yeh Kehta Nahin
Par Main Seham Jaata Hoon Maa
Chehre Pe Aana Deta Nahin
Dil Hi Dil Mein Ghabraata Hoon Maa
Tujhe Sab Hai Pata Hai Naa Maa
Tujhe Sab Hai Pata Meri Maa

Main Kabhi Batlata Nahin
Par Andhere Se Darta Hoon Main Maa
Yun To Main,Dikhlata Nahin
Teri Parwaah Karta Hoon Main Maa
Tujhe Sab Hain Pata, Hain Na Maa
Tujhe Sab Hain Pata,,Meri Maa

  • I never, do tell you,
But I am frightened by the darkness, mother
    Usually I, don’t show,
But I do care about you, mother
You know it all, isn’t it mother?
You know it all, my mother.

Don’t leave me like this in the crowd
Such that I am not able to come back to the home.
    Don’t send me so far
Such that you don’t remember about me at all.
    Am I that bad, mother?
    That bad… my mother?

    Whenever… father…
    Quickly… swing me, mother…
    My eyes… seek for you…
I do think this… you will come to hold me, mother…
    I don’t… tell him this…
But I do… get scared, mother
On the face… I don’t let this come
In the heart… I get frightened, mother
You know it all, isn’t it mother?
You know it all, my mother.

    I never, do tell you,
But I am frightened by the darkness, mother
    Usually I, don’t show,
But I do care about you, mother
You know it all, isn’t it mother?
You know it all, my mother.

  • EXUBRANT!!!
    Its just not a song,
but the written form of a
    BROCKEN HEART!!
it takes us to the paradise of
    SORROWS,
    where we can leave
    our SORROWS!!!

    THANKS a LOT… 4 the LYRICS.

  • I have to warn you, this is a very rough translation of the song. I read some translations and then just listened to the song. If ever something was lost in translation, it would be the emotion and words of this song. The translation makes every line so simple, and the eloquence is gone.
P.S. one of the lines that starts with “But..” well i left it blank since i didn’t know what that line meant. please feel free to share.

    Ma:

    I never say anything,
But I’m scared of the dark, Ma.
    I don’t show it,
But I care about you, Ma.
You know everything, don’t you Ma?
    You know everything, my Ma.

Don’t leave me in the crowd-
Where I may not be able to find my way back home, Ma.
Don’t you send me so far away-
Where you don’t even remember me, Ma.
    Am I that bad, Ma?
    That bad, my Ma?

    Whenever Papa swings me fast,
    My eyes search for you,
Keep thinking you’ll come find me, Ma.
    I don’t tell him this,
    But
I don’t let it show on my face,
I just fear it in my heart.
You know everything, don’t you Ma?
    You know everything, my Ma.

    I never say anything,
But I’m scared of the dark, Ma.
    I don’t show it,
But I care about you, Ma.
You know everything, don’t you Ma?
    You know everything, my Ma.

  • I am really touched by this song. I am not that good in Hindi so I did not digest it fully. But one thing it shared with me is the sorrow, the hurt that this song reflected. My mom sent me away from home at age five. I was living with one of my relatives, reason she gave is the good education, which I still dont want to convince my self. I hate her till date and I am still alone in this crowd.

When I first heard this song, it touched something in me and I played it whole night and cried along. I imagined a small kid who has nothing else in this world except his mom. He thinks that she does everything that is good for him and she knows what he needs. Mom, you know what is good for me, but you kicked me out. It is hurting me my whole life. Now I imagine asking her, mom, you know everything, you knew my heart was crying. Tujhe Sab Hain Pata, Hain Na Maa….still you abandoned me………. I am crying again…..

Ghar Laut Ke Bhi Aa Naa Paoon Maa
    Bhej Na Itna Door
Kya Itna Bura Hoon Main Maa
    Kya Itna Bura Meri Maa

Tujhe Sab Hai Pata Hai Naa Maa
Tujhe Sab Hai Pata Meri Maa

I still want to keep my interpretation of this song and want to cry along……..

    @ K
The line you left blank means (along with the stanza) :

    Whenever Papa swings me fast,
    My eyes search for you,
Keep thinking you’ll come find me, Ma.
    I don’t tell him this,
    But I get scared, Ma
I don’t let it show on my face,

You know everything, don’t you Ma?
    You know everything, my Ma.

One of the most poignant songs ever. Cheers!
