Harman Baweja finally makes his much-awaited debut in a lavish 50 - 55 crore movie titled Love Story 2050! Directed by Harry Baweja, his father, of Qayamat fame (the Ajay Devgan movie that released in 2003). Since Qayamat, Harry has been busy working on Love Story 2050, his son’s mega debut. Priyanka Chopra is Harman’s co-star in the movie. Expectations are high, mostly due to the high-on-special-effects trailers and good promotion. Does it click?
Love Story 2050 starts off as a simple love story that revolves around two characters Karan (Harman Baweja) and Sana (Priyanka Chopra). Karan is a happy-go-lucky spirited boy who goes off the rules and Sana is a shy and petite young girl who goes by the rules. What happens when opposites meet? They are attracted, love blossoms between the two. All comes to a stand still when Sana dies in a accident!
In search of his love, Karan goes into the future, right into the year 2050 with the help of his scientist uncle Dr Ya (Boman Irani) who has spent more than 15 years of his life inventing the time machine. 2050 is spectacular, flying cars, sky-high multi storey buildings, robots et al. Karan finds Zeisha (Priyanka Chopra), now a superstar, a pop singer.
Will Karan and Sana get back again? Will the future bring them together?
Love Story 2050 Review
Harry Baweja has undoubtedly put in a lot of effort and hard work into Love Story 2050, whether its the costumes, settings, special effects and to a certain extent even robots. But unfortunately, the script is way below average. The story is nonsensical, the love story lacks soul, you dont feel for any single character in the movie. Harry Baweja as a story teller fails big time.
The first half is never ending, but towards the end it gets slightly interesting, you hope for a better second half. Imagining life 42 years from now is exciting, but what unfolds on the screen in the second half is probably equilvalent to a third degree torture. It painfully drags, the special effects although great, outshines the love story, you no more care for any of the characters. The robots and the special effects too starts to get monotonous towards the end. 30 mins into the second half, you desperately await the end for the credits to roll.. Yes, its that bad!
The runtime is 3 hours plus, most of the portions can be chopped off easily. For example the character of the masked villian, who appears in the latter parts of the second half, was absolutely unnecessary. He also seems to be a last minute inspiration of Naseeruddin Shah’s character in Krrish.
Seriously, its very hard to sit through this movie. The packed house for the preview show, was almost half empty, well before the credits rolled!
Dialogues are irritating.. Harman’s favorite dialogue in the movie is ‘I dont need luck, because i have love’ He repeats it so many times that, you feel an urgent need to pull every hair out of your head! Music is average, except for the ‘Milo Na Milo’ track, nothing is even worth a mention.
Performances are no better! Harman Baweja has been compared to Hrithik Roshan, no less! Well, he is good looking, a excellent dancer, has got a good screen presence.. But in the acting department, he has a long long way to go. His dialogue delivery outright sucks! Priyanka Chopra disappoints in a meaty role, with great scope for histrionics. Boman Irani is funny at times. Archana Puran Singh is good.
In short, Love Story 2050 is yet another major disappointment of 2008. A utter waste of Rs 50 crores plus spent on this never ending tale. The opening at the box-office is expected to be good, but the negative word-of-mouth would affect Harman’s debut. The collections should start dropping heavily from Monday. This futuristic tale has absolutely no future!

I saw this film First day first show..
its not too bad..But its good.You can definitely watch it..
Harman Rocks completely…He looks very cool and so handsome …in this film..he acted well also..
I think Harman is definitely not to be blamed he indeed has a bright future.. the script writer should be blamed..

- the most annoying dialogue of the this movie applies perfectly to this review section.
The special effects were one of the good (not the best) in Hindi Movies. Harman dances well.
BUT BUT BUT
The movie is bad, long 3hrs20mins, people were leaving one by one… we were only about 7 people left untill the end.
That little robot of Priyanka was most annoying thing in the movie.

I watched this movie on Friday and sure enough it was a torture!!!
The first half was atleast bearable but the second half gives you a Migrane. Priyanka is her usual self ‘IRRITATING TO THE CORE’ in the second half.
Harman is a big dissapointment. He cannot match Hritik …for his personality just fails to appeal leave alone his acting….
If you guys really must watch it… out of curiosity then please buy a cheap CD and watch it at home when you are bored enough to kill flies!!
Jaane Tu..ya jaane na is a great fresh movie….you just want it to last for hours….Imran Khan is so cute and his acting is great for a new comer…in the genes I guess!! This movie is a sure winner!!

Don’t be so cruel on Priyanka, probably she did this movie to satisfy her boyfriend, probably she knows that he doesn’t fit in acting or in Bollywood ( and the girl always has to encourage her boy.. am I right). Priyanka is a lovely actress, she’s talented, and if she did one crapy movie, it doesn’t mean that she’s to leave Bollywood.. no.. Aishwariya did many carpy movies, Madhuri did, Juhi did, Preity did, Karishma, Karina, including big actors in Bollywood e.g. Amitab did some very bad movies, so.. it’s not fair to ask her to leave bollywood. And.. she’s not the director to blame her, actors/actresses in fact are just like (robots) the hands of directors move them to the direction they want.
I admire Priyanka and consider her one of best actresses in Bollywood with Katrina and Vidya Balan. They’re the future bollywood actresses.
A word to Priyanka: ( if u read my comments) don’t be frustrated, and continue doing some good movies. I loved your roll in Krrish and hope that u will play a roll with Hritik on Krrish 2. Best of luck.

People didn’t like this film because they are addicted to films that have saas-bahu topics, problems to eternity, friendship that obously will grow into love and so on. If a mature director like Harry Baweja has tried to come with something else, people start saying that its a bacwaas movie. No wonder why Hollywood is still better than Bollywood! WHY? Bcuz Hollywood comes with different movies! They come with billions of sci-fi movies, and they become big hits! but bollywood audience is just something opposite.. They don’t appericiate things that are something different.. They want the same masala movie, with one hero,one heroine. They are enemies, then friendship grow between them. and ofcourse, uske baad love to ayega. Then They get married. Saas beats the bahu and they quarrel. Beech mein ek sad song la do. and then the actor comes across an accident. Again a sad song. Then a miracle happens(ofcourse!) and the hero gets well. and then, a slow motion happy ending. bas! Thats what the typical movies are about..
Im surely goin to watch Love Story 2050. Because I want to watch something else. !

Indincine team wrote a good review for Jaane Tue. and gave it 4 star which it didn’t deserve except one star! A crap one.
And they gave one star for Love Story 2050 which I didn’t see yet, and “probably” it has to be vice versa, maybe it’s a good movie, I don’t beleive in such reviews now ’cause I didn’t want to go and watch Jaane Tue in cinema and I did after reading the above review. And just after 10 minutes of watching it, I could judge the movie that was bad in direction. How Aamir Khan produced this movie?! I don’t know yet!

Fathiya you need to understand that, reviews can never be universal.
Many have loved Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. If you check the Poll below the review of Jaane Tu, you will find that 68% of the people have given it 5 stars, about 20% have rated it 4 and about 5% have rated it 3 stars. That is about 93% which means of every 10 people who have seen the movie 9 have liked it, the people who have loved it are in the majority. Its also showing in the box-office collections, Jaane Tu has opened to about 80% while Love Story is way below at 25 - 30%. The box office story is coming up, do check it!
Coming to Love Story 2050, it is one of the worst big movies in recent times along with the likes of Tashan and Aag. Almost every critic has rated Love Story below 2 stars!

But the trailer for Love Story 2050 isn’t bad, I didn’t watch it yet, as it will be released on Wednesday in our country. My brother is the managing director of Bahrain Cinema co. and I will definetly ask him if the movie worth watching.

Yes,JAANE TU is a good movie, its fresh and fun, Imraan is good, Genelia is awesome and Ratna/Naseer-too good !
But I do not understand this, why are so many people and especially Critics slaughtering Love Story 2050? Many people are saying harsh things about Love Story even without seeing it. I saw Both “Love Story 2050″ and ‘jaane Tu” on July 4 itself-and I liked both of them. I loved the first half of JAANE TU and Second Half of LOVE STORY-the special effects are awesome, they are never before seen in India. Then why are so many people slaughtering Harman as if its his fault he was even born?? There are so many media people saying such harsh things as if they want Harman and the entire team of Love Story to go commit suicide!
After seeing both the movies, I can safely say that Harman and Imraan are both very different types of actors. Both the movies are very different. And all this hype of battle between Imraan and Harman has been started and fueled by media. Isn’t this industry big enough to hold all types of actors? Then why this whole propaganda of hatred against a movie just because its release date clashed with JAANE TU?
I wonder if LOVE STORY was made in Hollywood with Tom Cruise and Angelina Jolie in the lead, people would still be vicious? No matter even if there was no storyline and not an ounce of acting shown by that Permanent-Pouty-Angie and I-Can’t -Act-To-Save-my-Life Tommy - people would go gaga over it. But then they would be spending 800 million $ on that movie and here even though LOVE STORY manages to show Hollywood standard special effects at less than 1/10th of the cost, people are just going crazy with some inexplicable hatred! This does not seem fair. It seems to be some unwritten code among all the Critics and Media People to totally write off a movie and a team, which has dared to do something different, just because it has supposedly “clashed” with an obviously more fun and fresh movie. Give them a chance! Is that so much to ask for?
When an Hollywood film copies another film or remakes it and even gets an Oscar for that (like-THE DEPARTED)- None of these CRITICS raise an eyelid. They don’t say a word when Angelina Proves time and again that she can’t act, yet she is supposedly “the most famous face” in the world. They keep singing praises of “Juno” even though it turns out to be nothing more than a profanity ridden, vulgar and boring depiction of America’s morally downtrodden society-but they have a problem when an Indian filmmaker sets out to do something at par with Hollywood!
In an industry of copycats, the entire team of Love Story 2050 dared to do something DIFFERENT, something NEVER SEEN IN INDIA and their hard word, honesty should be applauded-then why are all the critics giving out hate vibes for Harman? Come on, people, this movie is much much much better than “Jimmy”, “aag”, “tashan”, “woodstock villa” and even “sarkar raj”-please..stop listening to so-called critics!
Oh, and I have to tell u dis-
A French Friend of mine is now working in the special effects team of latest Harry Potter Movie in U.K.-Harry potter 6th Movie (expected to release in summer 2009)
And she met me on chat yesterday night saying dat some people of the Harry Potter cast went out for watching LOVE STORY 2050-it included Daniel Radcliff (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron), and all the actors playing Hagrid, Dumbledore and a few others, along with the technical team.
And you won’t believe it, she actually asked me if I could find out how much these people had spent on special effects in this movie-I told her, something like 70-80 Crore Rupees. And she said, “You Know, We spend that much in 5 minutes of Harry Potter, How did you guys manage to create such stunning effects in this budget? You Indians are seriously Genius!”
And I told her, well, you know, all the critics In India are ripping apart this movie, they hate the effects, they think its amateurish, and its all a copy of various Hollywood movies. And she replied back, “But all your movies are the same-love stories, songs and dances, costumes, then what are they complaining about? We actually thought India must be celebrating that finally you can send a movie to West which is at par with their super hero movie!”
And I did not know what to say, so she just summed it up, “well, Richa, I think this is the age old habit of India which we guys always talk about-u guys are such genius but when an Indian does something out of this world, other Indians only pull that person down, and then look to the west for approval. I wish you could be more co-operative and encouraging of each other-really, that’s the only thing stopping you from conquering the world.”
And I did not know what to say? Should I tell her, the critics are busy in ass-licking Aamir because he very conveniently recently “patched up” with Amitabh and now Big b is promoting his nephew’s film on his blog? Or because Love Story does not have a “Khan” or a “Kapoor’ or a “Bachhan”, thats why its hated by critics? Or because they want to keep whining about the “lack of quality” but at the same time, only want movies like ‘vivah” and serials like “saas bahu” to play and can’t digest anything different being done by some unknown baweja? How do I explain the fact that Jaane Tu is a good movie, but nothing great and Love Story is not a bad movie, still from the very first day, all critics and media is urging people not to watch Love Story as if they are on a mission to push as many people as possible towards theatres playing Jaane tu? Because in India, more than talent –connections and surname and hype matter-what else can be expected of our media which makes “breaking news” out of “Saif’s tattoo” and “Abhiash honeymoon”!!!
Anyway..so I am embarrassed and I think all Indians should be embarrassed about this. I saw both movies and I think both are good, Jaane Tu has strong first half and bad climax, Love Story has a slow first half and Spectacular second half-it has to be seen in a theatre to be enjoyed.- even Harry Potter loves it :) forget the critics, yenjoy it :)

Richa: we shouldn’t be surprised why some people start to criticise a good movie and praise a shitty one.. this happened while releasing Om Shanti Om and Saawariya. I don’t know which one u liked the most but what I’ll tell u in brief - ’cause I already submitted many comments, during releasing the 2 movies - is the following:
I’m a big fan of Shahrukh and watched all his movies. When I went to cinema and started watching OSO I was shocked!! got bored and didn’t like the direction, weak, stupid and thought: why SRK agreed to do such a movie?! As u remember the hype for this movie was great and it became a blockbuster!!
And when I went to watch Saawariya I was amazed with this great direction, loved the movie, everything was excellent specially the music and the songs ( except some scemes. Ranbir’s acting which didn’t affect this ausome pieace of work) , the story based on reality, not a happy ending ( but Indian people didn’t like the ending!!! they don’t accept facts. And then I was shocked again to hear that the movie didn’t do well at the box office!!!
OSO which I considered a bad movie was far better than this stupid “Jaane Tu” that’s my opinion. As u noticed that Indian people - sorry to say this - but my conclusion is based on what I noticed - that when they enter a cinema hall, they just want a funny movie and only to laugh (not in India only even in our country Bahrain as thousands of Indians living among us) and as my brother confirmed that: they don’t care about special effects, cinematography, direction and never notice all these stuff!! they just want to have fun and to be entertained, and any movie includes Paresh Rawal they love and applause for it even if it wasn’t funny. So how can u convince millions of audience in India that this movie is a good one and that one is a worthless?! Every movie got his audiences and it’s a sale.. a product.. if people go for one more than the other it wins.. it’s the fact that we’ve to accept, don’t we?

And FYI, I still didn’t see LS2050 therefore I can’t say anything about the movie except my feelings that Harman is not bad and Priyanka ( I saw her acting in many movies) and she’s a very good actress, so why wouldn’t she perform at her best in this big movie and with her boyfriend?!!! I can’t beleive anything I read already only after watching it. And believe it or not.. I’m saying it from now that if I found it a crap, I would come immediately on this website and say so, but if I find it good, I’ll praise it ( I’m not an agent for any marketing institution, I’m just an audience who often watch hindi movies and writes her comments).

It 2.45am with us in Bahrain, couldn’t sleep so I visited You Tube website. Entered Love Story2050 and found the whole movie on the site, so I watched some parts of the movie which was available and not from the begging. The movie is big in production, special effects, Harma’s acting is not bad as a debutant, he’s repeating the sentence: I don’t need luck.. I have love makes some sence in the movie, to assure what he believes in ( and ofcourse the director wanted him to repeat the sentence). He looks like Hritikh alot ( so.. we can’t blame him ’cause he’s not wearing a mask on his face or did any plastic surgery to look like him, not his look only, even his voice, similar to Herithik!!),
What I didn’t like while watching the scenes is Baman Irani’s weg. The director spent crores on the movie and could give him a better weg, to look more natural, that’s one negative point in the movie. I don’t want to watch all the parts on the net as I think, and I’m not sure yet, it’s worth watching on a big screen ’cause it’s a different movie and I love new subjects, new special effects, new direction ( obviuosly, the director tried to develop the Indian Cinema and take it to a higher level but unfortunately, Indian people want to remain in their seat for thousand of years, refuse development!!.

@Linjo- Did I ever say anywhere that Harman is a Great Actor? Or did I by chance say anything against Mohanlal? His acting cannot be surpassed. He, Kamal Hassan, Dilip Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Mamoothy-they are pillars of acting! How can Harman even be mentioned in the same sentence as them?? I am sure even Harman would take offence at this!
If anyone would care to read my comment, they would understand I am not supporting Harman, or downgrading Jaane TU..I would give Jaane Tu 3.5 stars and Love Story 2050 3 stars..all because I feel that they made a new attempt,
We are living in an age where one switches on the TV-and some SAAS BAHu shit crops up-or worse, soem “reality show” crops up-which is even worse than Saas Bahu serials,
and in theaters, movies like VIVAAH become super hits, movies like “woodstock villa” are given 2.5 or even 3 stars by soem critics-I am questioning this. Am I not even allowed to do that?
Yes, Harman needs to go a loooooooooooooong way in acting department. His dialogue delivery is bad. He holds himself back in emotional scenes, there are so many things he need to do. I am sure Imraan Khan will win the Best Debut Actor award, coz honestly, his role suited him more and he performed well,I have no problems in accepting this,
But all I am asking is, instead of just swooping down on the team of Love Story (which all critics have been doing from day one), can’t we give them an encouraging nod? For atleast not giving us another of those typical boy-meets-girl, 10 song and dance wedding extravaganza in typical Karan Johar style? Karan Johar’s “Kabhi Alvida na kehna” was made on a bigger budget than LOVE STORY 2050-Honestly, I would say the team of Love story 2050 made much better use of money-This is my whole point-Is this unreasonable??

I’m sure harman baweja is very handsome and dances really well too but he also does one thing.. copy hritik thoughout the performance… I got a feeling as if there was some duplicate of hritik roshan in the movie and I just wondered why Harry could just notr cast Hritik himself for the role. Harman needs to be original.. Y wud we like to watch him when we can watch Hritik.. But I must also say one thing.. I really think he looks slightly better than Hritik.. and since it is his very first movie as an actor.. he has a concession…
Harman has great potential..he looks great and dances very well… he should just be himself.. He would do a lot better.. we also know Hritik for movies like “Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon”.. that doesnt stop him from goin great..Over the time all the actors improve a lot.
Priyanka is her usual self.. looking no differrent(Red hair do not work for her).. she never looks any diferrent in any of her movies… Although I really think she looks good… and she has put on some weight too..
Script as everyone has said is really pathetic.. what girl in the world would read a diary and remember everything of her past life?? veryyyy unrealistic..

First of all, you guys need to realise that a critic is a normal human being! How can you expect a critic to appeal to each and everyone?
Om Shanti Om we rated 1 / 5. We absolutely hated it. But the majority of the audience from Mumbai and North, loved it! The movie is also the biggest grosser along with Dhoom 2.. ever! I would even pick a Saawariya over a Om Shanti Om anyday. But the response to OSO was amazing. Almost all critics praised it, which was a surprise. I rented the DVD, watched it again, couldnt bear it yet again and switched it off 30 mins into the movie. SRK was terrible, heights of overacting in first half as well as the second.

Let me clear 2 points for you, Budget of Love Story 2050 is 50 crores. The budget of the crappy Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna was at around 40 - 45 crores.
But its not about the budget here, its not about the special effects, its definetely is not about how well they spent those 50 crores. Its the disappointment that with those 50 crores, they could have come up with a much better movie. The story and the direction was the biggest let down.
How much sense did the story make? A butterfly coming to the aid of Harman, in the railway station, to find him the correct station to meet his love? Him going in search of a dead girl into 2050 and getting her back into 2008? and the so many other nonsensical things that happened in the movie.
Anyway, every a utterly senseless story can be made to look convincing by the director. And thats where LS 2050 fails! Harry Baweja has let down his son, with a better director the movie would have been a LOT better. Take for example rakesh Roshan. The script of Krrish, although more sensible than LS 2050, was a mediocre one, yet the director rose above the script and directed the movie well.

The box office says it all doesnt it? A good movie works.. a bad movie doesnt. It maybe true that Indians love to watch light entertainers, but they also appreciate good classy movies like Jodha Akbar, Chak De India, Taare Zameen Par.
Just because the movie has Paresh Rawal and its a comedy, doesnt mean a movie would work. Dhol, Mere Baap Pehle Aap, One Two Three failures are three prime examples.
Coming to Jaane Tu, it hasnt just worked in India, but worked all around the world in US, UK, Australia, Gulf and wherever the movie has released. It could also be the biggest HIT of 2008 so far.
Love Story on the other hand has failed almost everywhere! India and overseas. And the BO verdict matters the most, nothing else! If you manufacture a product, hype it, sell it to dealers (in this case distributors), but there are no consumers to buy it.. The product is a failure! Critics can thrash a movie, but incase it works at the Boxoffice, the movie is a success!

Lets not compare Harman to Mohanlal and others.. Its like comparing a fresher to the CEO of a company, one who has 30 - 35 years experience and skill in the field.
Harman can grow as an actor, he needs to get rid of the fakeness, he needs to stop apeing Hrithik.
Love Story 2050 started in 2004.. The movie has been in the making for over 3 - 4 years now.. and it is anyone’s dream to start his career in a sensational way like Hrithik did.. So he might have been inspired by Hrithik, any newcomer starting his career, would. But unfortunately his inspiration showed on screen big time. He seems to have been inspired by almost everything and thats what went against him.
He needs to forget his debut, take a small break, re think and the most important thing is needs right now is a good director. And Ashutosh Gowariker is just the right director to handle him right now. Hopefully we will get to see the original Harman Baweja soon!!

Swades for SRK was a good movie, Dil Se for SRK which I consider Shahrukh’s best movie despite some minor scenes which I didn’t like, didn’t win at the box office ( I saw this movie 7 times and still got it on my video tapes) and Shahrukh had a great hope for this movie, he worked very hard on this film and and didn’t work, I think was rated as average. Do u know why? Cause it wasn’t a funny movie, a serious romantic movie and millions of people in this world don’t believe in love and don’t like to watch romantic ones. Does this mean that the movie wasn’t good ?!
If u, as a seller, tell some people: Oh.. this is a very good product, buy it as everyone does these days, they’d believe, even if it’s a shitty one!
I remember Akshay Khanna did a good movie called “Doli Saja Ke Rakhana” it was good for those days, I remember we found it a good movie, but the movie flopped, and as he confirmed: people didn’t go to watch it as they released the movie without any publicity, no one even knew about the release of this movie!! When u place an ad in t.v. even for a worthless stuff, people go and buy it.
Sarka Raj. Do u consider it as a bad movie? Why Sarkar, the original was a super hit, and why the sequal wasn’t?? Both were good movies except in Sarkar Raj, the background music was a bit loud. The movie was excellent but didn’t work. Critics (ruin) any good movies Critics (raise) some shitty ones, and people (believe) what they read or hear. BELIEVE ME.. IF AAMIR KHAN’S TARE ZAMEEN PAR WAS A FLOP, NO ONE WOULD HAVE GONE TO WATCH JAANE TUE. THEY LOVED IT ‘CAUSE AAMIR DID IT, PRODUCED IT, SO THEY JUST BELIEVED IN AAMIR THAT HE DOES EXCELLENT MOVIES. EVEN IF HE DID A CRAPPY ONE, THEY’D SEE IT AS GOOD. A CELEBRITY WINS ALWAYS SPECIALLY THAT HIS LATEST MOVIES WERE SUCCESSFUL.
You (yourself) said that you gave one star to OSO and didn’t like it but it was a blockbuster!!! I think what helped OSO the ads in t.v. Shahrukh himself, Farah Khan as a director (did Meh Ho Na) and the release date which was on Diwali which millions of people want to have fun and they go to cinema on Diwali specially for a comedy movie and watch more than one time.
If the story of LS2050 as u mentioned, Harman’s girl dies in 2008 and he tries to find her in future 2050 by a timemachine, then I would also say it’s a crap, ’cause it has to be vice versa!! If his lover dies in 2008 time should pass, an excellent scientist appears (which is Baman Irani) , Harman grows older, then a time machine has to take him back to past, save his lover from death and the accident happend in the past and take her to the future!!. If the script is as u mentioned, I won’t go and watch it.
One more question: Indicine Team: who watch Indian movies overseas?? In UK, US, Far East, Gulf Arabia?? They’re also Indians, yes.. we from Gulf or any other nationality watch Hindi movies but our no. of audiences can’t be compared with Indians. When I go to cinema 80% or 90% of audiences are Indians.

Further to my comments, let me give u an example about the influence of ads & publicities: In Bahrain we Got more than 10 cinema screens in Seef Mall and in Dana Cinema where they show different movies but not Hindi ( Dana Cinema started showing Hindi movies since 3-4 years only but in Seef only recently. My brother used to show Hindi movies only in Awal Cinema for Indian people to watch. After watching some goods movies e.g. Umrao Jaan for Aishwariya, I asked him the following: Why didn’t u publish any poster of this movie in newspapers, in your small booklets which u distribute for free at the cinema halls and why you never tried to show it in Seef as Bahraini people never go to watch any Hindi movies in Awal Cinema and they never know about any Hindi movies as they don’t have B4U channels or Channel V or read any Indian newspapers to know about Hindi movies? He said: I don’t think it will work for Bahrainis in Seef Mall. And as I found Umra Jaan a very good movie and I was sure that if Indian people didn’t like it, but Bahraini people may ’cause also they didn’t watch the old version. So he did show it in Seef Mall, we invited our families, relatives to watch it. Most of them praised the movie and loved it and said: We’ve never heard about this movie, no postars anywhere, no ads in newspaper, nothing. They told me: If u didn’t tell us about this movie we wouldn’t know or have a single idea about a great Hindi movie.
That’s how the publicity, ads, works!

Fathiya and Richa! I think u guys are one of those who actually are lil bit smarter than anyone else in this ”Drop-in-a-comment forum”. Cause u people think and write. Many people here just come and write sum rubbish and then never come back.
And as u said Fathiya, people went to watch jaane tu only becuz it was produced by amir khan. And after people watched TZM., they think that no film can beat Amir Khan’s film. Thats why they loved Jaane tu. I haven’t seen either jaane tu or lovestory yet. But im surely going to watch lovestory 2050. Bcuz films like jaane tu are made before. I heard in the news that the same script has been used in many other films. But this time it became hit bcuz it had fresh actors. So, what I mean to say is that the script is very old and the film became hit because Imran khan was starring. While Lovestory 2050 had a NEW script with a fresh face. and why do u people repeat all the time that Harman is a copycat? God damn, won’t u people react if I say that Shahid(The man I’ve loved since ages!) copied Shahrukh Khan’s acting and Hritik’s dance? Debutants need ispiration, but I totally disagree if we say that they are copycat.
And Indicine team, I personally don’t feel that the script of Krrish was a far more better than LS 2050. I believe more in a timemachine than a ”SUPER HERO” flying across the street, running faster than a helicopter and so on. Thats something very weird.! While timemachine is something that can appear in this future world. Don’t say tht im crossing my fantasy limit, but im pretty sure about that something like this is surely goin to happen in our world. And thats the time when u people will understant that ”that film had something special in it”.. I think that if this movie was made by Rakesh Roshan and the actor were Hritik instead of Harman, then this film would have been a BIG hit!! because it had a socalled SUPER HERO in it. and ofcourse, the papa Rakesh.. yeye.
This is india. Im glad I don’t live in a country with so much fake and unintelligent media.!

Shona: Jaane Tue Yaa Jane Na is about a rat & a “Miyow” means cat!! and it’s good for rats and cats to watch it and love it!!
But I don’t beleive in time machine ’cause the past is past, no trace of the past and the future didn’t come yet.. so how can a time machine take us to somewhere which didn’t happen yet?! And how can we go back to the past which has been ended? How much the scientists r clever they can’t go back to the past, it’s over and that’s a fantasy only, some people love fantasis. But Krrish, his pwer has been granted by an alien who become a friend and helps him. And Krrish is far better than Superman or Batman ’cause he doesn’t fly, he doesn’t carry an aircraft on his hands or carry a causeway, etc. He just have the power to jum and run very fast. That’s reasonable. I loved Krrish and saw it 3 times in cinema and I loved Priyanka’s acting in the movie.
Yes.. If LS2050 was directed by Rakesh Roshan then it definetly would have been a super hit. But Rakesh Roshan would’ve done it reasonable. Show the life in 2050 and Heritik is old and still dreaming of his girl, and then his uncle who’s a scientist would help him out, by a time machine to change the fact that his beloved was dead, the time machine take them to the past where car accident happens and he saves his girl and take her back to the future of 2050 and they live happily ever after. A fantasy but reasonable for our imagination. But, as the reviewer said, that the story of LS2050 is that the uncle and Harman want to jump into 2050 to search for harman’s beloved who was dead in 2008 and take her back to the past!!!! Now isn’t that stupid! If it’s true, I wont’ waste my time watching this movie.

Let me update my views-
I have no issues with anyone saying bad thing about LS 2050 AFTER watching it. Its a commercial masala movie, Harry And Harman never showed in the advertisements that they were making some intellectual movie, but from the very first day that the movie released, all the critics have swooped down on the movie as if the makers of LS 2050 promised something in the league of GODFATHER and finally presented a JIMMY! NO! The makers said, they are going to present Mumbai in year 2050 as never before-THEY HAVE DONE IT. They said, the special effects are never seen in India before-THEY DID THAT! But none of the critics pointed this out.
Secondly, my problem is with the fact that within 3 hours of release of both these movies, the reviews were out and by the very next morning, many media people had come up with their “hit” or “flop” tag!Come on, within 12 hours, they came to know which movie is hit and which is flop?? Strange!! Furthermore, stranger is the fact is-Please, see for yourself-Try and accumulate all the REVIEWS OF LS 2050 and see what they say-they all contain almost 75% same language-pointing at same things, attacking harman and attacking him again and again and again and painting a picture as if this is the most despicable person alive-Yes, do this-go ahead! This simply points to a tendency of unprecedented bias.
Last year, Ranbir KAPOOR ruined whole SAAWARIYA with his acting but even before the movie was released, it was sure that this latest KAPOOR would win all debut awards. Compared to him, NEIL NITIN MUKESH performed far well in Johnny Gaddar, but a MUKESH Vs A KAPOOR, HAHA! And today, the same thing is happening-there are some reviewers who did point out harman’s good qualities (like Taran Adarsh), but THEY ARE NOT BEING HIGHLIGHTED! Thats unfair.
There are many people who are saying that Jaane Tu sucks big time, (I AM NOT ONE OF THEM, I YENJOYED IT)-check out rediff messageboards, there are people who are complaining of headache (I don’t know why) But u kno why they are complaining-because the very first day they got to hear from “all critics” that this movie is very good while LS Sucks-there is not a single thing good in LS-AND SO THEY CHOSE Jaane Tu-and now, they are saying-why so much hype, its the same story we saw 1000 times earlier, imraan can’t act, he is toooo sweet….blah blah (I do not agree, but do check out-this is what many people are saying)- THIS IS THE POWER OF MARKETING AND HYPE.
See, JAANE TU is a VERY VERY GOOD MOVIE, Even without hype, it would definitely been a hit. But if you look at the events that happened on 4 July within 3 hours of release of both movies, anyone can see that There was a kind of “pushing” of people away from theatres playing LS 2050 and towards theatre playing Jaane Tu..this helped Jane Tu.. tremendously. (No wonder, Aamir patched up with Amitabh so conveniently, Aamir and Imraan ousted Harman from Dus ka Dum,Amitabh and Amir’s pic on the JAANE TU Premiere,Amitabh promoting this movie on his blog, even Shobha De promoting this on her columns-slowly building up..), People have been bitching about Harman and his movie EVEN WITHOUT SEEING IT. If u don’t like a movie after watching it, fine, go ahead, bitch. But saying something just because “all critics” are saying that, and all “critics’ saying SAME words, as if they all got instructions to say this from somewhere above, thats very interesting.
And its interesting because its PSYCHOLOGY. Even if 10 good things are said about 1 thing-it might not have a big effect, but say just one BAD thing about something and it gets spread like wildfire! And when 10 people say SAME BAD THING-then it spreads like forest fire. and this psychological fact has been used very well here. So many of my friends were surprised when I went to see LS 2050 on 4th July evening, saying that they “had heard” its a bakwaas movie. I asked “why” and they said “oh, everyone is saying this”-everyone,on net, on tv, they were saying the “same” thing, isn’t that strange?
And by 6th july, people have been trying to ask Harman “how does he feel now that his movie is a flop?” Within 2 days, who has decided this? There are people in many smaller cities who have loved his movie. Its as if, there were media people who were waiting forathe right chance to ask a question thah was pre-determined.
the fact is-this team took a big risk, they made a movie in a genre which is not big in india. Then they tried to sober it down so that everyone can relate to it. So they put a love story, they put re-incarnation in it (that is why harman travels to future) yes, its nonsense, total nonsense. But when these crtics can talk about David Dhawan movies in a good vein, why not now? Harman never promised a treat for our brains, the team made a total commercial movie, in a risky way, yes, but atleast they tried. Has any critics given any points for this? Why would anyone want to do anything different in india then, if we ourselves are not supportive of such endeavors?

I watched Lovestory 2050 today.. and yes, im not that excited to tell something about it.. hehe.. it was a lil bit dissapointing, cuz I loved the trailers and the promos of lovestory 2050. But the film.. it was allright. Can’t say that it was the best film I’ve ever seen, cuz it had some boring scenes in it.. but overall, I think it was a great effort!! Harry Baweja made something else, and I really appericiate it!.Like, I had become bored by all those saas-bahu and usual bollywood movies, so I needed something else to watch!. And im happy!.. I LOVED Harman!! He was fantastic,acording to me!. And his dance! Kya kehna,yaar!. His dance is far more better than many other actor’s dance in our industry.! So he is surely going to become a super star!!!!
And as usual, Priyanka again acted very well!. But im very impressed by Harman’s acting. He can prove somethings, like, if he could try to be more original when he was sad or something.. but this is my opinion!.
If I say, watch it, and if u don’t like it.. then u will say that im dumb. =)

Well.. if I decide to watch it, my quriousity would take my to the theatre to watch it myslef and judge it. I saw today in the trailer a part which I didn’t see before, Harman was talking to Priyanka, tears in his eyes but his acting was very poor in that scene. I can’t blame him ’cause acting is difficult, it’s not an easy job specially for newcomers. Sometimes I imagine myself standing opposite a camera where people around me watching my performance, so.. would I be able to act or perform like these actors do?? I don’t think that I’d be able to say even a scentence.
We should not blame him, but we have to encourage him. He’s a good looking, tall, and got beautiful eyes. I think he’ll improve by the time. So people.. give him a chance and don’t break his heart, just encourage him to do a better work in future. Wish him all the best ( and Priyanka.. I like u but you need to do some difficult rolls, serious ones not only acting in these typical as a beautiful girlfriend).

I was eager to watch LS2050 since I saw the trailer, I had a feeling that it’s worth it, worth watching on a big screen, but Indicine Team’s review for the 2 movies changed my mind, I didn’t want to go and watch Jaane Tu ’cause I wasn’t sure from the trailer that it’s a good movie, and their review encouraged me to do so, and I was dissapointed then, wasted my time, and spoilt my mood. I didn’t like the movie and if I don’t like something I don’t care if the whole world does and vice versa.
Yah.. this has a great influence on people.. but I don’t agree with u when u mentioned Ranbir that he ruined Saawariya!! No. Richa. Ranbir was excellent as a debutant but he over acted in some scenes ( and as u r aware, the director is the one who leads the actors and instruct them, and the actors are just like robots.. have to obey.. isn’t that true?)

Hi Fathiya,
Just to justify your stance on LoveStory 2050, you cannot go around degrading a good movie like Jaane Tu…ya jaane na. Agreed, the story line is cliched but the approach is young and fresh. All the actors have done a good job…..there is an element of ‘feel good’ in the film unlike Love Story 2050.
Ofcourse, the portrayal of future technology is brilliant in the 2nd half of movie, but the flaws tend to over shadow the movie quiet substantially…only adding irritation and impatience towards the end.
They could have done away with the scenes of the wrestling/boxing game between Harman & Priyanka (most irritating), the question & answer round with Priyanka…..I think Priyanka just went overboard with her role in the 2nd half….to the point of being irritating to the viewers!
Harman’s scene in the 1st half of the movie were he is evading the roadside attackers on the steps while he is following Priyanka is good…. but then again as mentioned earlier, towards the end of the movie the few good scenes remain a history!!

Hash:Sorry.. I don’t agree with u about LS2050 that there r flaws which overshadow the movie, the flaws in Jaane Tue are much more, I don’t know if u already read those points which I already listed under the review of Jaane tue, so I’ll repeat them 4 u ( and here we r discussing the 2 movies and I don’t hv any intention to upgrade one and downgrade another.. I’m not from any marketing to do so, just saying my opinion honestly, I liked one and enjoyed it even if I noticed some flaws which didn’t affect the direction of the movie and found it interesting, but the other one, got bored, didn’t like it and there were many which spoilt my mood and just wanted to leave the theatre in the interval.
JAANE TUE YA JAANE NA, The negative & the possitive points:
1) Does this make any sence to u that a group fo young girls/boys gather at the airport and tell a love story of someones’ there.. at the airport?!! And in details!! How did they know all those details?? And this idea was taken from an Indian movie which I saw a few years ago.. can’t remember the name, maybe “Kuch Na Kaho” I’m not sure.
2) Naseeruddin Shah talking, moving, smiling in his frame!! The wife wasn’t imaging but she used to see him alive in his portrait!! sucks!
3) Imran’s acting isn’t that good, Genelia isn’t bad but saying all the time: rats.. and he says : miyaou.. rats.. miuao.. disgusting,
4) I don’t think that a very close friends in the real life won’t be able to express their feelings for each other and they have to show something else!! they’re so close but their (ego) wont’ let them express their feelings for each other!
5) Arbaaz/Suhail.. what’s the point of their appearance in the movie?! I didn’t like it, I was irritated with the horse riding scenes.
6) The last scene, Imran is following his girl and want to stop her leaving, the airport scene.. tell me.. in how many bollywood movies we saw this scene?? 20 or 30 times?! Not only this.. all the groups telling the story were aware that he’s coming to stop his girl from travelling!
(what a meaningless movie.. this movie can’t be compared with Dil Chahat Hai which was extremely a quality romantic comedy movie but not a cheap one!)
( THE ONLY GOOD THING IN THE MOVIE WHICH I LIKED WERE “AMIT” I LIKED HIM MORE THAN IMRAN, SOUNDS VERY TALENTED, I USED TO FALL ASLEEP DURING THE MOVIE BUT WHEN AMEET USED TO SHOW UP, JUST LIKE HE USED TO TWING ME TO BE AWAKE! HE GOT A CHEMISTRY AND A STRONG PRESENCE ON THE SCREEN, BUT IMRAN - IS A BORING, MAYBE AFTER HE WORKS VERY HARD - WOULD BE A GOOD ACTOR, AND I LIKED THE SONG: KABHI KABHI.. THAT WAS THE BEST.
LOVE STORY 2050 : The negative & the plus points:
1) Harman is a good actor and he got a hero look ( but Imran’s doesn’t). Harman needs only to improve his accent, the way he delivers dialagoue as well as his acting in sad scenes ( poor guy.. everyone is attacking him ’cause he looks like Heritik!
2) Yes.. the boxing scene while the 2 of them r playing a game is irritating (I didn’t like it either) but this scene won’t ruin the whole movie, it’s just a one minute scene in the movie which is almost 3 hours! Did we ever watch any movie and we liked it all, 100% from a-z? I don’t think so, even Krrish which was a super hit had some flaws which didn’t affect the movie, the movie was very interesting.
3) Baman Iran’s weg.. didn’t look real
4) The kids, when they hide inside the time machine.. how could they do it?! Where did they hide and how?
5) The future portraying a life should be after a minimum of 100 years the least, and not 42 years only, Mumbai and life can’t be changed this way in this period of time.
6) The end: the director who spent 50 crors or more on this movie could end it at the icecream shop, repeat the same scene, Priyanka buy icecream and Harman saves her from the accident, he could’ve done it this way i/o the family gathering and the end ( When he prints the movie on a dvd, he can do an alternative ending in the special feature, Hollywood directors do sometimes 4 alternative endings and not only one)
The plus points:
- A big production and a very good direction, a very nice scenery in Australia near the beach.
- The special effects, the robot ( I loved quttey)
- The songs, Harman’s dancing ( he dances like Heritik only in the 1st song of the movie, but in the others, he acts differently)
- Harman as a new comer, Priyanka wasn’t bad but as usual
- Priyanka’s look was great with her costumes portraying the futurre outfits.
- The technology in the 2nd half, how u can buy your stuff, how u can communicate with others, the way life developed which takes u far from this world and enter a future, was interesting.
The movie is overall very good, 3 hours passed and never got bored. I give it 4 star, and I’d love to watch it again
So Hash.. don’t feel bad, people evaluate movies differently.

everything is clear with the results,
The week one collections are out and the audience verdict is clear. Love Story 2050 has been rejected by moviegoers in India as well as overseas. The movie directed and produced by Harry Baweja fell heavily on Monday and the poor collections continued throughout the weekdays. Day 1 of Week 2 (Friday) was no better either.
Shows at multiplexes have been reduced this week and the Harman Baweja - Priyanka Chopra starrer has been taken off at many single screens across the country. The distributors will loose heavily in almost every circuit.
The first week all India collections are about 11.45 crores, which is extremely poor considering the fact that LS 2050 had a wide release (700+ prints) in India. The movie is a huge looser, unless something extraordinary happens, which is highly unlikely.
The business overseas continues to be poor.
lets not fight now.

Dear all; I don’t think that any director can take u to a higher level and u all will remain in your seats for another 100 of years, never win oscar wards or any international one ’cause your taste will never change to better: When Shahrukh did his movie “Dil Se” and he had a great hope for it but Indian people didn’t like it much, he said during an interview which I read in one of your magazines the following: Dil Se is good for Indian audiences to watch after 10 years from now ( hoped that they’ll develop in 10 years). I think 7 or 8 years passed and Indians are still the same, don’t want to see any better quality movies, surprisingly, they still love Rajanikanth movies!! Govinda movies!!
And in latest masala magazine, they asked Kunal Koli, the director of Hum Tum & Fana: Why an Indian movie never won an oscar award. He said: ’cause we do movies only for Indians to watch” So that’s the fact, directors are ware that if they do some serious ones, they won’t win at the box office and Sarkar Raj is an example.

No one sucks except u with your bad language and dirty tongue.. this movie is not for shitty people like u r ( u people go and watch Govinda & Rajanikanth movies!!) u all who wrote bad comments want to upgrade a silly movie for the sake of (Imran) Imran who was given a very easy roll to play, a simple roll in a shallow movie, a roll which anyone could play ( and he considered acting is very difficult!!!) Why?!! What did he achieve in this movie?!! I can’t imagine that Imran Khan would be able to do what Harman did in LS2050 for even 15 minutes. Harman’s roll was difficult and he tried his best, if he wasn’t good then Ashoutosh Ghawariker wouldn’t sign him for his next film!
And he did a work which is similar to Hritik’s, and as a debutant, he’s excellent, u people r jealous ’cause someone good existed and u just want to ruin him! Or, maybe God didn’t give u any sences, or eyes, or brain to see the plus and the negative point correctly in any movie!
I saw LS2050 before 2 days, and went again with a friend of mine who’s Indian to watch it for the second time today, when I asked her if she has seen the movie already, she replied.. no as she heard that the movie isn’t good enough to watch. I told her.. ok.. would u like to come with me and see it with your own eyes and seneces then judge the movie yourself and far away from reviews, critics, box office and then tell me if u found it good or bad, she agreed.
When she finished watching only 20 minute of the movie she was surprised and said:” the movie sounds very good and interesting one, Harman is very good looking, exactly like Hrithik, talented and then she said: Why then people say bad things about the movie ( after she finished watching it she said: I enjoyed every bit of it and every scene and I’m really surprised of what I heard everywhere) I said: That’s your problem that u believe whatever u hear or read, then she replied: I’ll definetly take my husband with me to let him enjoy this movie.

If u people consider any movie is good or bad according to the box office, then in our country, JTYJN worked at Awal Cinema WHICH THEY SHOW ONLY INDIAN MOVIES just for a week! But LS2050 is still working and for the 2nd week.

I’ve seen Lovestory 2050 many times and I still want to see it again. It may be surprising, but I loved the first part of it. Cuz it was romantic. The second part was very nice too, especially the special effects!.. I haven’t seen such effects in any hindi movie.. and to all you ”decent,respectable,nice,polite” people. Why are u using such dirty language? haven’t u guys heard og polite talk?! Its seriously irritating!!!!!!

I will.. I won’t write any more comments for a while or maybe this would be the last one.. I don’t know yet.. but believe me.. I’m a type of person that when I see ( a good work) and people don’t appreciate it, but appreciate a crap.. I feel so unfair or pity for those people who really worked hard e.g. (Harry Baweja) who’s still surprised and asking: Why people are attacking my movie?! (Bechara!) And he said: I did many movies already which didn’t do well at the box office but no one attacked me! So why this one?!)
The director who spent months or sometimes years, working very hard to please people, to create something new, different.. and we.. with our pen, with our writing which won’t take more than 5 or 10 minutes would ruin these people’s work.. would ruin a young ambitious actor’s career, not only with a pen in 5 or 10 minutes..but maybe in seconds.. with what our tounge would say easily!!
So excuse me all and I’m sorry if I bothered u with my comments but I am (aries) always defending people who deserve from me to stand by them - without asking me so and without gaining any benefit - I always fight for what is unfair. That’s me.. and this is the least I’m doing.
And FYI, I’m a writer, wrote many articles for 13 years( in Arabic) in our local newspapers in the readers page fighting for women’s right, attacking lots of men in our society and their mentalities and defending agreived people. So What I gained from writing all these years.. and what I gained from writing on this website defending only a movie?? Nothing except feeling happy.. that’s it.

OK.. dear.. why don’t u go and work as a director and show everyone if u could even do 15 minutes of the 2nd half of this movie!! Yes.. the world can’t change this way in 42 years but 100 years at least ( and I mentioned this in my previous comments) but u people don’t deserve any better movie or any new script. Every movie we watch we find some flaws, but we have to judge any movie form A-Z.. If the letter “Q” or the letter “B” didn’t satisfy us, it doesn’t mean that the whole is bad. Teach yourself first how to judge a movie then write your comment.
You just go and watch your blockbuster movie (JTYJN) which is really stupid and not this one!

Omg.. I watched JTYJN.. What the hell.. I have seen such script in billions of bollywood films.. So idiotic script.. but unfortunatly publick like such scripts.. that has nothing new.. fresh face, blablabla.. what the hell .. can a fresh face win a bad script?! Listen dear “U Name it”: As I said earlier, people’s taste is different.. people enjoy movies differently.. what u found an interesting one, I find it boring and vice versa.. what u found it excellent I found it crap and vice versa. It’s not about Bollywood only, even some Hollywood movies which r very popular and were blockbuster and every single people loved them.. I hated them.. I couldn’t say that they were (bad movies) ’cause in terms of direction & production they were excellent but ( not my type) e.g. Lord of the Ring, Harry Potter, Armagadom, X Man, The Matrix, etc. and they’re many.. but .. can I say that these movies are bad?? No ofcourse, but what I can say that I don’t enjoy these type of movies, I enjoy what’s based on true stories, drama, romantic & rich comedies and I enjoy new script, new ideas, new stories. But I consider JTYJN a bad movie ( and my opinion is not because it’s a bollywood movie.. even if it was a hollywood one also I’d have criticised it) therefore I’m surprised that it pleased people so much in a way that they couldn’t find any flaw in this movie!
I really found LS2050 an interesting one - I don’t have to mention why as I did already - and I’m not the only one, even Shona, Richa and if u visit You Tube website, also u will find some people who praised the movie and loved Harman’s dancing and some consider him better than Imran and that’s true ’cause he was given a hard job to do as a debutant. But my question for u is the following: Did u watch this movie?? If u did then please tell me what u didn’t like about it and what u loved about JTYJN. Thanks..
Oh.. I 4got.. I watched on line the 1st half of Kismat Konnection and found it not bad, at least better than JTYJN!

And one more thing to say and it’s about the movie “Saawariya” the way I’m defending now LS2050 it’s the same way I did for Saawariya. Saawariya which was a great direction, a fantastic cinematography, a movie with best music & melodies, with a love story which is based on reality - love from one side - didn’t please people and they (ignored) all the good thing in the movie and said: The movie was dark!! No external scenes, no story line!!!!
The movie was indoors shooting and not outdoors and it was about (night life) and the director meant to do it this way to give it a new flavour. And believe me.. people didn’t enjoy it and I enjoyed it “thoroughly” and saw it 3 times in cinema.. I saw Umrao Jaan the remake also twice in cinema.. So.. does this make me a “marketing agent”?!

Im not gonna give up.. and to u all people who think that Fathiya is from Ls 2050 marketing team or whatever.. what the hell is wrong with u all? can’t each human being have its own opinion?!.. All people have their own opinion.. and I understand that=).. u may now ask me why I keep discussin with those people who didn’t like Ls 2050.. my answer for u is that, I understand those ppl who didn’t like LS 2050..maybe they didn’t like he script, or the music and so on.. but why the HELL do u keep saying that Harman should get lost from Bollywood?!.. He is a very very good actor, and with some experience, he can become tomorrows superstar!.. So I think , that u ppl need some patience.. im sure that he will win ur heart in his next film, Victory=).. Imran Khan is a good actor too, but as Fathiya said, he didn’t that difficoult role to play! He was just a normal guy who got love and so on.. while Harman had a much harder role to play.. Bcuz it was a sci-fi movie.. thats why I think u all should appericiate his work =)

For starters, what I liked about JTYJN is that it is not a ‘larger than life’ movie. It may have the same storyline that we have seen over a million times but it just the way the movie has been made (simplicity) that makes you leave the cinema feeling good unlike LS 2050 where you are left feeling as if you received a jolt from the blue leaving behind a torturous memory!!
I know now you will retaliate by saying that what about the scene where Naseeruddin shah being a dead man speaks - here i would just like to wake your funny bone up! these scenes together with Abbas and Sohail khan scenes are lighthearted and hilarious where you know it is crap but you dont mind it coz the way everything falls in to place beautifully in the whole movie!!
But on LS 2050 some of the scenes are just riddiculous and I just dont want to mention it as it has been already over a million times on this site!! You know what this movie does need LUCK coz it cannot survive on its poor lovestory!! This is re-phrasing Harmans dialogue ‘I dont need Luck I have love’! Does he really??
By the way Fathiya, I thought were going to Hibernate?? But I know you wont ;) Dont mind but this is a site to voice one’s opinion and this is just a non biased opinion, nothing personal!!!

( I think I’ve to see it on line again and judge it from your perspective) but I’m sure that my opinion will remain the same. And one more thing which didn’t convince me in the movie is the following - I didn’t mention it earlier ( and please.. all of u.. don’t misunderstand.. this is not a compition..we’re only discussing just to find out which way people judge any movie and which way they think.. that’s it)
How a couple who r very close to each other like Aditi & Jay who hug each other - and we see in the 1st scene of the movie, where Aditi’s cat dies, Jay hugs her and she leans her head on his shoulder, as well as some other scenes too, they hug each other like couple do, the director shows the audience how these couple r close to each other.. so how couldn’t they express their feelings for each other and each one of them’s ego wouldn’t allow them to show their feelings?! This scene, the airport scene friends telling the story, the last airport scene, naseeruddin shah & khans’s scenes which u found hillarious.. excuse me if I say found them crap and didn’t convince me. In addition - and which is the worst - aditi calls amit: you.. son of a bitch!!
I’m the one who received a jolt, while watching JTYJN!
U Name it: One more question if u don’t mind answering me: How old are you?? ’cause the age also has something to do with our taste and the way we value any movie .. I remember that I loved some movies when I was 16years old, but after growing older and watching the same again, after 20 years, I changed my mind and didn’t find it so good.

50 crores for that street-fighter/star-wars type special effects. You must be joking. I am sure there are many genius young indians livings at their basements of Mubai city, who can individualy do better job than Baweja Team at lvery low cost.
I work for Electronic Arts (EA). Our Team has come across many Indian investors. Our first proposal was for Jodha Akbar and Lagaan on PS3, Xbox 360 and PSP. Release expected in begining 2010. Budget is done at labour and production cost only. But you can roughly take a guess, right? It will not even come near Baweja’s budget. In a meeting, our CEO stated “Idea is to invest and harvest, not to invest and waste, we are looking for smart investors, to bring great returns of our investments. We are not looking for any stupid investors like Mr. Baweja to promote his son’s career at unreasonable price.” India’s first Epic Games: Jodhaa Akbar & Lagaan.

Fathiya - I certainly do not fall in the age group of ”the teens” nor am in the ”Twenties”. I am in my early thirties and yes I reiterate that JTYJN is a far better made movie than LS 2050. It caters not only to the college goers but also appeals to all age groups, which is why it is a feel good film and one that fills you with nostalgia of college days!!

U Name it: now u said what’s reasonable, I understand it more ’cause when I visited You Tube website, and switching from one video to another, reading the comments, I had a feeling that most of the visitors r youngsters, and they express their feeling for Genelia & Imran more than praising the movie.
So I don’t blame them as it’s perfect for their age.
Sorry if I bothered u all but when u watch lots of movies and years passes, u can judge better. I will give u an example: If u remember the movie Taj Mahal for Akbar Khan which wasn’t even released on dvd disks as it was a disaster as everyone said. So today, and just b4 30 minutes, I found it on a website for movies. I watched Part I so I knew that the movie quality is really (bad) and the direction is poor ( we can feel this when any movie starts, from the first 15 minutes, so is Tashan, Aag, Darling, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Family, all these movies which were flop and deserved to be flop)
But Love Story 2050.. ( and Saawariya) no.. I don’t agree ’cause the direction, the production, the special effects, the script, the music, the costume, all were just great, therefore I don’t agree with any review & with people’s comments as I saw it and it deserved to be one of best movies of 2008. It really deserves ( some minor flops never affect any good movie) and why people didn’t feel all the good stuff in this movie?! that’s what I don’t understand yet.. maybe (the clash) between the 2 movies is the main reason, as happened with OSO & Saawariya, the director chose a wrong date for the release so he lost. That could be the main reason and in addition, that JTYJN is Aamir Khan’s production, therefore, people believed in Aamir and didn’t want to se Baweja’s.
I’m sure if JTYJN wasn’t released at this period of time, this movie would’ve been a blockbuster. Just go and watch it again and you’ll find it really worthy

Fathiya - Atleast we have one common liking - SAAWARIYA!! I liked the movie as well and agree that the timing for release was not ideal!
