London Dreams Box office updates
All London Dreams Box office updates will be published here.
A few multiplexes in Bangalore : Started slow, morning shows were poor (20%).. but has picked up for the afternoon shows (40 – 50%). The word of mouth is good.
Mumbai : In Mumbai too the start was slow (30%) afternoon shows were better. But lower than expected for a big budget film starring Salman Khan.
4:00 PM IST update – Single screens are poor, business has picked up after a slow start this morning. Advance booking for evening shows are good. Critic reviews and audience reactions are pretty positive.
7:15 PM IST update – Business has doubled for the evening and night shows. Few screens at select multiplexes in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai are sold out (shows are 9PM). For those curious, Aladin looks almost certain to be a disaster, unless it picks up on Saturday and Sunday.
11:00 PM IST update – Day 1 at multiplexes was mixed for London Dreams. Collections improved drastically during the later half of the day at multiplexes. Not doing too well on single screens. More updates tomorrow, stay tuned.
*********************************
Saturday updates
Bangalore – Good business at multiplexes throughout the day, especially INOX and PVR Cinemas. Single screens aren’t too great in Bangalore.
Mangalore (Karnataka) – Fantastic collections at Big Cinemas (Bharat Mall). When we contacted the Manager of the multiplex he said “London Dreams is doing well, family audiences are loving it, collections should improve further on Sunday. Aladin opened very poorly, around 10% occupancy for the Morning show on Saturday. Its targeted at the kids and Sunday being a holiday, we expect a better response.”
Mumbai – Much like Bangalore, Business has picked up after a slow start on Friday. Sunday is expected to be even better.
Overall, all India business for the first 2 days should be around Rs 100 million (10 crores – nett gross).
*********************************
Sunday updates – Appreciation from the youth and family audience alike has resulted in excellent collections on Sunday all over. Doubled the collections of Saturday, which is a good sign. The weekend business is around 15 – 17 crores.
*********************************
Monday – The India Australia cricket match has affected collections. Overall Week 1 collections are expected to be somewhere between 24 – 28 crores, which is good. Much like Blue, second week is crucial for London Dreams. But unlike Blue which had no competition in its second week, two biggies release this Friday – Jail and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. While Jail wouldn’t prove to be much of a competition, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif’s APKGK would be the first choice next week. Will London Dreams show life this weekend or end up being an average grosser, remains to be seen.
Tuesday – Bad news! The collections have dropped after recording decent collections on Monday. The drop was expected (since Monday was a holiday) but with 2 big releases coming up, the show-count would reduce drastically at multiplexes for London Dreams. A HIT seems highly unlikely now. Open second week would have been ideal. Lifetime nett gross should struggle to touch 40 crores in India.
*********************************
Updates: London Dreams crashed further on Wednesday and Thursday. The first day of Week 2 (Friday) saw a drop of more than 75% compared to its first Friday. Lifetime nett gross should be under 31 – 32 crores which would be way below expectations. Below average / Flop likely. Very disappointing.
- First weekend – 15 crores
- Week 1 – 23 crores
- Week 2 – 7 crores
Total in 2 Weeks – 30 crores
Box office Verdict – FLOP

@ Farhad i admired ur views but ur last couple r completely biased and slightly ignorant.
i know u r more knowledgeable dan me wen it comes to films and aspects associated wid it.
1. plz man ur insulting Salman fans wen u say WANTED iz comedy action. my friends who r not even Salman fans became hiz fans after watchin da film
2. u say ankhein iz vipuls best, not anymore it aint its LD.
ok just for da sake ov it say dat Akki iz action hero. 1-0.
comedy, personally Salman but will say both r just as good. 1-0. (Welcome is his biggest comedy film but it was definitely a multi-starrer no argument needed.) Salman’s biggest comedy is Partner Govinda and Salman both complemented each oder but people say he stole da show, fair enough. Salman has made countless good comedy films were he waz da only actor- JUDWAA, BIWI NO (i know Anil had guest appearance), DULHAN HUM LE JAYENGE, PKTDK (Dharmendra was excellent) etc.
romantic, no contest we know wat dey call Salman (Prem) and MPK, HAHK, HSSH were great films. 1-1.
thriller, u gonna have to help me out here coz i cant remember any film ov salman dat iz a thriller. But Aksahy in Ajnabee waz excellent. 2-1 to Akki.
serious i dont really know but Salman in Garv was very good.
emotional, well Salman in Tere Naam was excellent also liked AK in waqt, but dis time i say it goes to Salman. 2-2.
well according to me dat iz level in terms of acting in different genres.
just relax man der both good in dere own way, but again i want to say dat when it comes to who iz da bigger superstar Salman wins.

FARHAD- Yea FARHAD i understand 8×10 released during d strike but wat was d story of dat movie bro & it was a disaster!!! Even Akshay told in an interview people should not bring there brains to theatres for watching his films. Aa dekhe zara also released during strike but it was an average fare. Even i am waitin for DDD bcz Akshay suits in comedy only. Yea i should not compare Salman with Akshay, as Salman is a superstar & njoys massive fan following all over the world for the last 20 years & Akshay got a superstar status for the last 3 years. Hope u dnt mind…

ha salmankhan is a rock star than aksay kumar.just remember that all the famaos film of akshay like welcom, bhagambhag namaste london all was super stwar due to the malti starrer like anil kappor .nana, katrina etc.but film like kambhakt ishq was flop becoz he was a single starrer in the movie so salman khan is better than akshay london dreams is super hit and best perfermance by salman khan after wanted and tere naam so watch it

i dnt wanna argue with ppl anymore ……………if ppl want 2 say dat tere naam was not a hit movie or ppl want to say dat it was a comedy film den i suggest dem to go to the mental hospital……………i just wanna know about today’s condition of LD…………..can anybody tell me wats da situation now ?………….nd MR.farhad………….4 ur kind info um trying to give da names of hit movies of salman after 90s…………1. tere naam, 2. mujhse shadi karo gi, 3. maine pyar kiu kiya, 4. lucky, 5. no entry, 6. partner, 7.wanted…………..nd 8. z going 2 be london dreams…………..nd u know wat, unlike akki, salman doesn’t do too many films so we r very much happy with 8 good various films other than 11 comedy films

is london drems going to be blockbuster? and how’s box office collection on friday to sunday

first and foremost i find it very disgusting by da comments of Mr Abhi.
if London Dreams iz a bad movie den wat on earth iz a good movie.
Also Farhad u r 100% rite wid da thoughts on Khiladi, Abbas Mustan have made some brilliant thrillers.
believe it or not Mohra which waz a big super hit iz 1 ov my favorite films. ive lost count of how many times ive watched it. coz am 19 i dont know who waz da bigger star back den Akki or Suniel, but suniel iz also a very good action hero. liked him in MHN and many oders. dese 2 did very well in Mohra but da world knows who waz da star of da film Mr Naseerudin Shah.
Also, Raveena was big back den, and am sure she became a household name after her first film wid Salman Pattar ke Phool. (plz correct me if am wrong).
da bottom line iz we should have a open mind and appreciate good work irrespective of who our favorite star iz.
