Lipstick Under My Burkha Trailer

The theatrical trailer of the controversial ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ is out. Taking advantage of the Censor Board of Film Certification’s refusal to certify the film for theatrical release, the makers have highlighted the controversy and made it a part of the trailer itself.

The film is explores the sexual lives and desires of women of different age groups. We have a woman shooting her own sex scene and threatening the guy of publicly shaming him if he happens to leave her. The trailer also has sequences of sexual escapades of a older woman.

Lipstick Under My Burkha stars Konkona Sensharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra, Plabita Borthakur and Vikrant Massey.

It was refused certification by the Pankaj Nihalani-headed CBFC. The makers then appealed to the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT), which overruled the censor board’s ruling, granting the film theatrical release rights.

Lipstick Under My Burkha releases in theatres on July 21. Check out the trailer:

  • Right in your face, CBFC. You work is to certify. If its an adult movie, then let the adults choose what they want to or dont want to watch. In a country which has the second highest population, stop ‘censoring’ the exact thing that’s increasing it. Lets be liberal about it.

  • Will watch this 1 for fun…but if got some hard hitting message that will be bonus…won several International Awards…let’s see…waiting!! Poster is damn catchy

  • What the hell is this? These type of movies are the reason why bollywood industry is downgrading every year! Look’s like they are now obessesed with niche content and the result is similar to the film. Almost all niche contents movies are failing barring 3 or 4 but they continue to make these type of movies. Last year Udta Punjab fighted for the certification of their movie and media & social media supported that movie because they think these type of movies bring awareness but what happens in real? They are forgotten movies because no one really watched these movies and they are disaster on television anyways. Looks like bollywood have now forgotten how to make “Universal movie”.

  • Semi-Porn… Better watch some Amateur Porn which atleast shows Pu$$y and B@@bs.
