Lipstick Under My Burkha Box Office Collections: Emerges a success

Alankrita Shrivastava’s ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ has emerged a success at the box office, after the film managed to sustain remarkably well on Monday. The growth on Saturday was good, but Sunday business didn’t really suggest a strong hold on Monday – but that could also be because of the Women’s Cricket World Cup final.

It’s one of those rare films that has collected more on Monday as compared to its opening day, inspite of lower ticket prices at multiplexes. In other words, the footfalls of Lipstick Under My Burkha was significantly higher on Monday.

The film has collected Rs 7 crore in 4 days and should end its first week with net box office collections of 10 crore. Depending on how well the film performs in the second weekend – with competition coming from ‘Mubarakan’ and ‘Indu Sarkar’ – ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ could go on to be one of the few ‘clean-hits’ this year.

  • Even ekta kapoor, irfan khan films are getting hit status nowadays but our eid star still dont have a clean hit this year disaster on eid lol

    • @SRK’S JABRA FAN!

Your such a disgusting idiot here on indicine network.

Eid star gave 10 back 2 back blockbusters. He is gearing up another 300 crs grosser this christmas.

I’m worried about global phanka when will he stop his flop series. JHMS is already looking down.

    • Srks idiotic fan ..u talkin lk salman has had ten releases ds yr so far and none hv scored …abe tra also ran khan is giving flops right left and centre all ds decade except a chennai express ….and what was d latest flop fan 80 cr …and whats tubelight 100 plus ..think 114 cr …haha …and latest to b added on his list Jhms aa rahi hai …pls buy tickets to watch in theatre ya bai bhi dekhi toh tkt atleast kharid lena …

    • 4th august ko dekhenge ki tu jiska jabra fan hai.. Usko kya hota hai.. Salman’s last film did 300..tubelight did 120
Jabra superstar did 138..in his last film.
Apne superstar ka number dekh ke toh baat kar!!

  • good to see this film is emerging as a success audience atleast now knew the difference between crap overrated films of criminal star and good films

  • another small film scores at the bo.. last 4 months hv been disastrous for the industry bt thankfully these small films – Hindi Medium Sachin Mom & now Lipstick have provided some relief with their success. . the 1st quarter belonged to the biggies bcz they had content.

  • It is good to see small films getting box office success . But I think the controversy really benefitted in the film immensely . Before the controversy nobody was aware about the film but slowly people started talking about this film on social media . The 2nd trailer improved the buzz and celebrities holding their lipstick and showing middle finger on Instagram also got good response . It will be good to see Lipstick Under My Burkha getting successful while MM is another failure for Tiger after A Flying Jatt .

  • This is were makers should learn with just under 10cr its a clean HIT….
Superb movie..with just 400screen it really shown its mark

  • It will be a Hit because of the controlled budget….
All small films must keep the budget of their film in check….

  • Tell me the only one film in the history of indian cinema that collected 120cr and is still called a flop by indicine?
    I don’t blame indicine.
I have never seen any film earning 100cr & called flop.
Can anyone please tell me a 100 cr earning film called flop?
That’s megastarr whose 120cr film is called a flop, 150 below average, 160 average, 170 above average, 185 hit, 210 superhit, 240 blockbuster, 300 atbb.
Rab ne bana di adjusted inflation is just 200 & called blockbuster.

    • HAHAHAHAHA….

U R THE REASON I HATE SALMAN FAN AND THERE LOGIC..

GO AHEAD DO SUCH SHITTY COMPARISION…????

    • Bro FAN collected almost 200cr worldwide which is more than tublight but it was flop. Thats not only your mega star SHIVAAY which also collected near 100cr was declared flop .. its not about 100cr or 200cr. A film made on a budget of 200 cr would also be called flop if it collects 200cr due to distributors loss and not recovering the miney invested in it
      #peace

    • Ra One is considered a flop..Shivaay too…
Your point is just too stupid for someone to even acknowledge it..
The film didn’t flop because we expected more from “Salman Khan”
It flopped because people LOST their valuable money on this movie..

  • The audience is being awfully nit picky these days, and that’s good.
Not saying Bollywood is crap, but just see the average ratings of most of the films and you will get an idea of how mediocre it is. We need to give a strong message, and that is that only good films survive.

  • Hope the performance of Indian audience be so remarkable in the rest of the year too. Slamming shitty movies of over rated star kids or any other big actor gives immense pleasure. Art, class and acting must be given due credit.

  • Just think of it guys!!!
Solo Eid release+4500screens+Director of ATBB Bajrangi Bhaaijaan+BEST PHASE MOST IMPORTANTLY+2-3 weeks free run+Universal script(As indicine was saying earlier), yes BEST PHASE
    And flop.

    @INDICINE PUBLISH. THANKS

  • I was downloading when this article was posted? Sorry but can’t watch so many Hollywood & Bollywood films at mutiplexes every week?

  • Someone here is commenting that people lost “valuable” money.

If one loses money on stock exchange, do the company on whose shares you lost, will reimburse you back?

Whether srk, salman or aamir, or even rajini film……….all will have a flop film one day or the other…….and entertainment business is a creative field, where risks are higher……..there is no guarantee, there is no success formula here…..those who put their money need to know this and not cry like babies…….if they are so scared and emotional, why don’t they put money in FDs at banks?
