Krrish 3 has gone past the lifetime collections of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in just 9 days. The film is now the 2nd highest grosser of 2013, only behind Chennai Express which collected Rs 227 crore when it released during Eid this year.
Enough though YJHD didn’t get a festive release, the Ranbir Kapoor – Deepika Padukone starrer released just after the 6th season of IPL. The first 3 days of Krrish 3 was affected by the pre-Diwali period, but since then there is simply no comparison between the two films.

what a difference is happening…??…today Roshans will quote 20cr……at the end of run ,collections of Krrish3 would have a difference of 80cr when compare to BOI…..this is going to happen…..!!!!!!….
BOTH producers AND Box Office India give wrong figures.
Box Office India does not take into account the collections from small centres and therefore gives very low figures.
The producers manipulate and inflate the figures for publicity (this was clearly exposed when Balaji Motion Pictures gave 14 crores as opening day figures for OUATIMD but they forgot to pay Taran Adarsh; so trade analysts gave correct figure of 11.5 crores and BOI gave 9 crores).
A simple solution that I propose is that real collections will be somewhat the average of these two sources.
So Ek Tha Tiger’s real lifetime figure will be around 193 crores (BOI -187, producers -199),
Chennai Express around 218 crores (BOI – 208, producers – 227),
YJHD around 184 crores (BOI – 179, producers – 189)
Krrish 3 is 190 crores (producers) and around 150 crores (BOI – 142 hindi and 8 dubbed tamil and telugu). So real collections are around 170 crores for 9 days.
And there is an urgent need to have a central tracking agency for box office figures. If producers manipulate figures then the govt thinks money is flooding the industry and raise taxes. This affects the exhibitors and distributors, and indirectly the producers collections. So everyone stands to lose.

will it be fair to compare only the hindi version collection of both the movies(telling about ce)?i mean 227 crores refers to the hindi version collection as well as domestic collection of ce where as in k3,the week collection 156 refers to the hindi version collection and 166 to the domestic collection.if k3 wasn’t released in tamil and telugu,then hindi collection cud have been increased to a little higher level if south indians saw the movie in hindi.
While in case of ce,south indian ppl saw the movie in hindi and collection was benefitted due to rajnikanth’s name.

I think that 200 crore club has now become a new milestone, like 100 crore club was used to be during 2008-10. We could see more movies entering to this elite club in 2014 like Dhoom 3, Jai Ho, P.K., Kick, Bang Bang, and HNW. Movies like Singham 2, and Holiday will also have chance to cross this mark as they are remakes of very successful films. It is the golden time in our film industry.
The difference in Krrish 3 lifetime collections of Boxoffice India and Producers figures will be greater than the collections of Akshay Kumar films :D :D :D
