Katrina Kaif has finally made her much-anticipated debut appearance at the Cannes 2015 Film Festival! The 68th edition of the annual film festival in France, will witness celebrities like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (who has been a regular for almost a decade) and Sonam Kapoor walking the red carpet at their stylish best.

On Day 1 at Cannes 2015, Katrina Kaif was schedule to interact with the media. The actress looked gorgeous sporting her red-haired look, wearing a black and white dress.

Unfortunately,  there will be no Indian film competing in any category at the Cannes 2015 Film Festival. The country will only contribute to the fest by screening a series of small budget, regional and offbeat films, made by less popular filmmakers.

‘Masaan’ and ‘Chauthi Koot’ will be screened under the ‘Uncertain Regard’ section. ‘Masaan’, featuring Richa Chadha in the lead, is as an intense drama, which has been shot in Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) and co-produced by Anurag Kashyap. The film marks the directorial debut of Neeraj Ghaywan. The other is a Punjabi period drama titled ‘Chauthi Koot’, directed by Gurvinder Singh. It revolves around state-sponsored violence that took place in Punjab during the 1980’s.

Another interesting film that will be screened at Cannes 2015 is ‘Miyan Kal Aana’ a short film produced by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It deals with the seldom discussed Islamic ‘Halal’ law.

Nasseruddin Shah’s ‘Goatscape’ which revolves around talking goats – a film that is a mix of fantasy and reality, will also be screened along with a social-drama titled ‘Kajarya’, which deals with violence against women.
