A day after Shah Rukh Khan said his upcoming film ‘Raees’ won’t clash with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil, the director of the film, Sanjay Gupta, has reconfirmed that the film will arrive on the same date as previously announced.
In a series of tweets, the director said:
“Dear All KAABIL releases on Jan 26, 2017. Absolutely no change in date. Hope this clears all unnecessary rumours.”
“Dear SRK fans There is no need to get hyper abusive. Calm down. Even I like him & will watch Raees whenever it releases.”
“SUPERSTARS get great openings irrespective of Public Holidays. Look at what happened this Wednesday.” he said.
Meanwhile, we’ve been informed that Rakesh Roshan has decided to stick to the Republic Day 2017 date, even if Excel Entertainment decide to release ‘Raees’ on the same day.
Those asking, Hrithik's Kaabil has not been postponed. Still scheduled for 26 January 2017.

Celebrating Eid with the media yesterday, SRK spoke for the first time about averting the clash with Sultan and why they decided on releasing Raees next year.
“First of all, we weren’t ready with our film (Raees). I haven’t still given the last shot of Raees yet. We will shoot that now. Secondly, Salman and I spoke about it and we realised that we are at least 10,000 screens short of accommodating two films on the same day. Hence, we decided to come to a later date”
“We were looking at a number of dates to release the film this year but we could not because all of them were occupied. It would make no sense if we averted one clash for another one. It would mean like going out of the frying pan to the fryer. Then we decided on January 2017 as the release date”
“I knew Hrithik’s film was coming but he had not started the film then. We talked to Hrithik and Riteish (Sidhwani), Farhan are meeting him and Rakeshji on 11th or 12th this month. Then they will finalise on what’s to be done” Shah Rukh had said.
Postpone raees to next good date for good marketing decision!
India finishes it’s fight with British on 26th January and fight between Raees and Kaabil starts in the same day!! :p

I am 100% sure one of the two movies will move eventually. Two huge movies on Republic Day does not make sense biz wise to me.

just watched sultan, amazing movie, full emotion, nice chemistry of salman n anushka, good love story, great action, predictable climax but easily passable to the end because of salman presense…. n it is tottally acceptable why arijit voice was replaced by rahat fateh ali khan on jag ghumeya…
clash should be averted ,it makes no sense to clash two big films for just one holiday

I think there is still a chance of Kaabil moving away coz Hrithik hasn’t yet started shoot , moreover he won’t be able to start it before September due to MD promotions . Question is , can he finish the film within 3 months ?

Roshan’s have booked the Republic Day weekend first, so they have every right to stick to that. Raees makers should find a different date as they are solely responsible for this mess.
However, if Kaabil is not getting completed by Jan 2017 (as Hrithik usually takes 6 months+ to shoot a film) then Raees should occupy that weekend.

Highly disappointed with the makers of Raees what was the need to declare Raees’ release date when Excel weren’t even sure regarding the postponement and completion of Kaabil.They are to be blamed for this entire mess.Kaabil team had already booked the date.It creates unnecessary fan wars and rift between two individuals who have had admiration for each other.Also Raees cant afford to postpone their release.It would be too embarrassing.Raees is very important for srk’s career.Please ensure it doesn’t become another fan.Good movie but poor BO collection.

This idiot Ritesh Sidhwani should understand that dates can’t be decided based on speculations that ‘xyz’ movie is yet to be started , so it won’t get ready by a specified date.
Now look at our non-actor. If he gets even one month before Eid, he will insist to finish the shooting in that single month just to get an Eid release.
Similarly, you can’t predict if Kaabil will be ready by Republic Day or not. It’s their business , so before deciding the date, at least they should have contacted with Kaabil makers once.
@ tiger,its republic day not independence day.and by telling raees not clashed with kaabil is meant that he thought that perhaps kaabil will not ready till January 2017 .and it is 100% confirmed that Raees will be released on Jan 26 2017,no matter any movie will release on the same date or not.
