Judge asks Salman Khan to stop delaying hit-and-run case

Salman Khan’s 2002 hit-and-run case is likely to be wrapped up by the end of December, as Justice D.W Deshpande has asked the actor to stop delaying the 13-year-old case.

“I remember I had directed the accused to remain present today. During the trial, the evidence should be recorded, but it is digressing from the main issue. It’s been almost 13 years since this case is going on, it should end by December-end.” the judge conducting the trial in the case said.

Salman was asked to appear for a hearing on Monday, November 24. Since the actor didn’t make it, the court has asked him to be present on the next date of hearing (December 3).

Defending the superstar, his advocate Srikant Shivade said “The main reason for seeking the list of witnesses is because we need to know the days when the actor’s presence is mandatory in court. If we know that the prosecution is going to examine formal witnesses, then in such case there is no need for the actor to be present before the court”
