Jolly LLB 2 showed excellent growth on Valentine’s Day, as the film is now well on course to become Akshay Kumar’s fourth 100 crore grosser in a row after ‘Airlift’, ‘Housefull 3’ and ‘Rustom’.
The growth on Tuesday averaged out at around 25-26%, but on real value – considering the fact that most films show a normal drop of 10% from Monday to Tuesday – the business of Jolly LLB 2 has escalated by around 35% on Valentine’s Day even though it wasn’t a national holiday.
Most of the growth came at multiplexes, especially big cities. The PVR chain jumped by more than 30% compared to Monday, while business was strong pretty much all over inspite of it being a working day.
A big drop will come on Wednesday, business will go below the 6 crore mark, but the film is now looking at first week business of around 75 crore. A ‘clean-hit’ is almost a certainty, but the level of hold on 2nd Friday and the kind of growth the film shows on 2nd Saturday will have to be watched before the final verdict.
Note: Our estimates suggest Monday business of around 6.5 crore and Tuesday of 8.25 crore, but the numbers will be adjusted to actuals once we get figures from many more centres by the end of the first week.

- Friday – 12.65 crore
- Saturday – 16.50 crore
- Sunday – 19.35 crore
- Monday – 6.75 crore (approx)
- Tuesday – 8.5 crore (approx)
- Total in 5 days – 63.75 crore
