John Abraham has joined hands with Viacom 18 Motion Pictures to co-produce “Jaffna” and “Hamara Bajaj”, his next projects as producer after the super-successful cult classic Vicky Donor.
The director of the film Shoojit Sircar will also be directing both the films.
“Vicky Donor” was co-produced by John and Eros Entertainment, but Sircar had expressed his resentment with the production banner for not even sending the film for consideration, when the jury was selecting India’s official entry for the Oscars (Anurag Basu’s Barfi was eventually selected).
If sources are to be believed, Abraham feels Viacom 18 has done justice to both big budget and even smaller budget, concept-based films like “Kahaani”, “Gangs Of Wasseypur” and “OMG: Oh My God!”, which have done well at the box office.

First John had agreed to give the distribution rights of his three home production films to Eros for 40 crores. Then he changed the rate and asked Eros for 60 crores. Eros backed out. Then Viacom 18 have agreed to distribute those films.
