Jai Ho has collected around 6.2 crore at the domestic box office on Wednesday, as the business of the film continued to drop both at single-screens and multiplexes.
The Salman Khan starrer has collected around 83.1 crore in 6 days and should complete its first week with net box office collections of 89 crore.
The worldwide *gross* is Rs 134.7 (approx) as the film has collected around Rs 26.5 crore at the overseas box office.
Looking at the trends, Jai Ho is likely to finish with ‘Above Average’ or ‘Hit’ status depending on how well the film performs in its second weekend.

It would be a major disappointment it that happens.As Jai Ho is not a bad film and much better than last few Salman Movies.
@Alok Nath, find it strange when a lot of people say Jai Ho is one of the best Salman movies in recent times and some have even compared it to 3 Idiots. Jai Ho was a typical Salman Khan film with a message that wasn’t conveyed very convincingly – one man can make a difference, sure, but you can’t expect him to bash an army of goons. A common man just couldn’t relate to the film.
Some other reasons why the film didn’t work were sub-standard production design, poor promos/music/direction. The casting director should be fired too, the supporting actors were loud, couldn’t act to save their life and were irritating as hell.
Considering all these factors and a non-holiday release, Jai Ho did well to collect 120 cr. Just that it was sold for exorbitant prices, due to which it will settle for Above Average / Semi Hit status.
Salman should be more careful from here on and the failure of Jai Ho will help him in the long run. He can’t afford to lose his multiplex audience with excess of action masala / south remakes, like Akshay Kumar did with comedy a few years ago. Failures don’t affect Akki, but for someone like Salman who has set the bar so high with 5 blockbusters, every film is important.
Hahaha. So it won’t cross even 90cr in first week. Its really a nightmare for Salman and his fans. The movie, which came after a long wait of around 1.5 years with a so called superstar is struggling to collect every single penny on B.O. LoL. Crap ho collected this much also because of sallu’s last five hits. But you see , now onwards, his movies will struggle to cross even 50 cr. Mark my words, collection of Kick will be less than 50 cr. No more craps audiences can bear from lallu. Again he came back into his struggling phase.

Basically for once salman khan acts and does a decent movie, his fans don’t end up being faithful to him. says a lot about his fans and their preference/taste in movies.
What went wrong with this movie: the initial promos made it seem like a typical salman movie as in the past and the multiplex audience had enough of that so they didn’t throng to the theaters.
If salman did decide to do something different, then he should have made sure that was noticeable in the promos instead of trying to appease his single-screen audience with the same old “maar-dhar”
This is disappointing but in terms of box office only.When Salman fights for his heroine then movie becomes blockbuster and when he fights for country and peoples rights then movie struggle for even a hit verdict.Message oriented movies always struggles in bollywood no matter who is the superstar and only Aamir gives clean hits by giving these type of movies but we r proud and happy that Salman had done a movie like ‘Jai ho’ and box office collections r not important always.Salman’s last 5 blockbusters have already rocked box office and giving blockbuster everytime is impossible for any big superstar.

If SRK has done this movie, it would have been 200+crores easily because of his star power. Also storyline doesnt suit salman khan as he himself involved in all cases in his real life, how do you expect such character person to talk about helping others etc…and the other major fact is most of his fans are muslims who boycotted him as he started licking modi otherwise tell me why would tge first 3days collections will very low…..story n other factors come into picture only from monday onwards.

jai ho is a grand success in his own It is just hit because of only and only salman starpower otherwise nothing was in the movie to excite audience.It will do minimum 140cr and it is a huge for this type of movie even agneepath which was superhit music,sanjay dutt much hype look brand remake of agneepath katrinas,s superhit song huge appreciation by every critics but that was only do 120cr just 2years before.now its clear that what ever jai ho collected because of salman and it is also proof that now he can make any movie hit without any positive factor that,s called starpower.

1st- lets cut to the chase, a big reason for why Jai Ho didnt perform well was not its multiplex business but its single screen business. Reason- well unfortunately for some reason a large minority of the muslim youth/ family audience stayed away this particular Salman starrer. Simply put Salman isolated himself from a hardcore fanbase with his recent actions. It was unfortunate but with Kick coming on Eid n Sajid Nadiadwala the astute businessman at the helm then Im sure these differences will be ironed out and appeasement will be reached. Multiplex business was poor that would have stopped Jai Ho from earning close to 200 cf mark but its the single screen opening which hindered the film from reaching 100 cr…! IMO
Secondly- my word 1 or 2 morons in lungi attire using fake IDs ssy ‘Jai Ho is better than 3 idiots’ and you think it is wise to label the vast majority of us of holding similar beliefs….? Not a single fan of recent bollywood films will ever in a right state of mind proclaim their fav movie to be on par or better than 3 idiots. Most cinegoers know their quality films from fun packed films and 3 idiots was a film of the highest quality… Noone would compate Dabanng, Dhoom 3, Rohit 3, Chennai Depress etc etc with 3 idiots which is the LandMark film of the 21st century so far…. Sholay owned the 20th Century and Im convinced it will take something extra marvellous out of this world almost to surpass 3 idiots like maybe another Raju/ Aamir film. @Navin, the ratio of single screens vs multiplex business was 35 vs 65 (normal for most big star films) for most of Salman’s recent releases. But for Jai Ho it is 42 vs 58. Multiplexes have under-performed big time for Jai Ho, single-screen business over the weekend was very good for a non-holiday release.
The fact is, the family / city audience is tired of watching these over-the-top action films, a genre that has been abused ever since Ghajini did well. And if Salman doesn’t mix it up, a time will come when the multiplex audience will stop watching his films. You can’t take your audience for granted with films like Jai Ho, it had absolutely nothing going for it except Salman’s presence. It wasn’t very different from a film like Boss (which atleast had good music). The difference in business between the two films is because of Salman.

i hope jai ho becomes a hit atleast.. salman khan needs to understand soon that doing charity work for his brothers, family n friends is not happening.. he has a reputation to maintain n as indicine rightly said every film is important.. in one of the articles indicine suggested that salman should mix it up a bit.. i too believe so.. he should work with the likes of shamit amin, kabir khan, sooraj barjatya.. many other like karan johar is eager to work with him as a producer.. he should do these movies.. he could do these masala entertainers once in a while, that way it will look fresh.. n even when he is working on these masala entertainers he should work with only big directors n producers like rohit shetty.. even with poor production design, poor music, poor direction, poor casting jai ho is worth a watch.. that speaks volume of the man n the movie.. go for jai ho, its a fab film!

RaRa Point One released- you told us it doesnt matter if 120 crs was spent on the cartoonish graphics and 50 cr on 9 months marketing blitz as Sarkar was giving bollywood a hollywood-isque film. Again we rolled on the floor laughing out loud but you guys were so busy in sending copies of the movie to James Cameron so that he can incorporate some ideas and use them in his ‘Avatar’ sequel/ franchise…! BO numbers do matter- fact is Jai Ho at an expected 130 cr is a Hit film, budget 70 cr, min pr budget, distributirs took a gamble but thats their problem, they made enough monies on previous 6 bhai blockbusters so it balances out, not every single venture can be profit making. The film will do Hit business and Indicine can talk about investment n losses to justify giving a film an average tag for all I care but for RaRa point One that got a Hit tag despite heavy losses for all concerned… Strange but not unexpected from pro thakur friendly media.

Seriously ETT was not a masala film but got labelled as such by lungiwalas n trade. If it was a masala film then it wouldnt have done 190cr. Salmans films of recent times on average do around 140 cr business. Jai Ho n Ready will settle in and around the 120 cr mark & will give some much needed company to RaRa point One, Jab Tak Hai Mojo, Agneepath, Rowdy Rathore etc etc.
But in 2015 bhai has lined up a No Entry comedy sequel and a Barjatya family extravaganza film but no doubt haterz will label them as Masala too… Let them hurl accusations all day long but lets remind them that Thakur failed with all genres until he dragged on board a hit director/ hot upcoming superstar diva/ starlet & stole the Eid werkend from Balaji to give his lungi fans a masala overdosed Crappy Express. Hypocrisy n now they want Farahs masala CASH remake to cash in on the genre again…
