Salman Khan’s Jai Ho has collected Rs 17 crore at the domestic box office on Saturday. Single-screen business witnessed drops in the range of 10-15%, while multiplexes picked up marginally.
Even though the film did pick up towards the end of the day, the occupancy at big city multiplexes continued to be way below-the-mark on Day 2. The average all-India occupancy at multiplexes was a poor 30-35%
However, after a fantastic start on Friday, single-screens were rock-solid with normal drops on Saturday.
Like mentioned in our box office report last night, today (Sunday) will be the biggest test for Jai Ho at the domestic box office. The film has opened to better occupancies all over today, even multiplexes were up by 10-20% from yesterday.
But with all-India net box office collections of less than Rs 35 crore in 2 days, even a fantastic Sunday would only take the film to around 55-60 crore in its first weekend. Considering the price that the film has been sold at and the opening that it has taken, Jai Ho will need a good 2 week run to emerge a winner at the box office.
The reports are good, but will that lead to family audiences coming out to watch the film from Monday onwards – is the big question. In today’s times, for a film of this magnitude, a good response at single-screens alone isn’t good enough, multiplex business is crucial to its success.

I watched jai ho today.here is my review.
STORYLINE:
as it is the remake of telugu movie stalin,it has a good story.it has many emotional things what i liked.its starting is averge and ending was lovely.but it has same masala entertainment and it lacks creativity.so the ‘wow factor’ was missing.
SCREEN PLAY AND DIRECTION:
i was disappointed by the direction and screen play.the fighting scenes are unrealistic like salman’s other recent movie.being a common man,he was fighting like a superman.camera setting was also not that good.whenever i watch a movie,i expect something great and new what was missing in its direction.
PERFORMANCE:
tabu was excellent.daisy shah has nothing to do.she was okay with her acting.sana khan and other stars have very small role.and finally,salman’s performance surprised me.he was good in serious and furious expression.but he couldn’t express properly in emotional role.i mean he doesn’t know how to cry.
MUSIC:
unnecessary and crap music by sajid-wajid.i liked the song “tum ko toh ana hi tha” which is composed by another composer.that sounds lovely.tere naina is average and comes in an unappropriate situation which looks odd.photocopy and baki sab first class gave me a headache.
CONCLUSION:
jai ho is undoubtedly far better than salman’s last four craps and it deserves a watch.though it’s a good films,it has limitations also which made me a little disappointed.

1.tabu’s performance
2.salman’s presence
3.some of the emotional part what will easily click in your mind.
4.it has a moral value which attracks the class audience.i liked the dialogue “thanks mat bolna instead 3 logon ki ho sake toh madat karna”.
LIMITATION:
1.poor direction screen play
2.poor music by sajid wajid
3.unrealistic and over fighting and action scenes
4.the same masala action south remake by salman of which people are fed up.
5.so many tv stars in a movie.but for no reason.
I would have given 3.5 ,but it’s direction and some of the over fighting disappointed me.so i’m reducing 1 star.

JAI HO PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
Jai Ho had no big actress, no big director, poor music and non-holiday release. The only thing the film has is Salman starpower. So it shows that Salman in his favourite genre (masala action) is able to give an opening of 17.5 crores based solely on his starpower.
17.5 crores opening on its own is quite good but everyone thinks this is underwhelming for a Salman starrer as they expected 20 crores atleast. This means that people are overestimating Salman’s starpower and expecting too much from him.
Either way Salman will no more be able to give big hits with the masala genre. That genre is dead now. In south such films will run but north audiences tastes are different. For every Dabangg that becomes hit, there are many Himmatwala and Boss. Salman’s core fan base is single-screen audiences and his masala films will always do well there. But multiplex audiences will reject such films. No actor will be able to give big blockbusters without good business from BOTH multiplexes and single-screens. Salman must change his films or he will go completely downhill.
Still jai ho weekend collection will be 60 cr , first week 100 cr , second week 50 cr and life time 180 plus blockbuster

Word of mouth is fantastic, sat 30% growth in the business…Sun its showing 80-90% occupancy for morning shows and 95% occupancy for evening and night shows. Film will have huge growth. I have watched the film and loved it. There are 25% ppl r giving mixed reviews where as Dhoom 3 had 42% ppl giving mixed reviews. Film has a fair chance to cross 200 mark.

The entire ‘ticket-rates-are-high-so-film-collected-more’ funda is a big sham. None of that *really* happens, except for a property or two!
1. It’s really demeaning for films Like CE, K3 and D3 where footfalls were higher in comparison to Jai ho.
2. I have checked ticket rates in many Multiplexes (Ahmedabad & bangalore) ticket rates are more or less same.
3. Even with same ticket prices Jai ho collections would not have increased by 20-30lacs.
So people please stop demeaning other stars.
Low weekend for Jai Ho will not impact Salman’s Popularity one bit and he will come back with a KICK.
