As per our early estimates last night, Jai Ho has collected around 9 – 9.5 crore on its first weekday at the box office. The film had huge drops in a few circuits, but was rock-steady in Mumbai.
In the Mysore circuit, the drop from Friday was more than 70%, with multiplexes witnessing huge drops. But the film has held up strongly in Mumbai, mainly due to the film getting a phenomenal response in the state of Gujarat – which was also the case with last year’s release Ram Leela.
Jai Ho is likely to collect around 88-90 crore in its first weekend and should cross the 100 crore mark on Saturday (second weekend). There are no major release in this weekend, so Jai Ho will continue to be the first choice.

Watched Jai ho today,a very good movie and Happy it comes from Salman’s but equall unhappy because the concept of helping chain can be portrayed way better. Hope Salman could give the subject to better director like Salman,i wished it would directed by Raju Hirani. Story as usual know by everybody here. Screenplay was good it was great in some scenes while some were not upto the mark.music was a big letdown,i didn’t enjoyed any song in theatre.Salman was awesome in the movie,his attitude and character in the movie was like a lion he roars,bites and beating like an hungry animal,he is superhero himself and his name states Sal-Man,i watched in single screen and the audience response was amazing,by this film i came to know that Salman matched the action persona like sunny deol and his aura is like that was witnessed for Big b in north on his prime and Rajni in south. Tabu & Danny was superb,rest of cast provide ample support.action scenes yes fab including climax but over stretched,direction was average. 3.5/5
Scene which i find superb. 1.Salman entry scene 2.Jenelia dsuza whole scene,it made me almost cry. 3.The scene when Tabu insulted by goons and the way Salman beat the baddies like hungry lion. 4.Salman and Tabu meeting with Danny 5.the bike chase scene to save his nephew,he himself created Dhoom with those stunts 6.Superb climax. Movie contains great message,i loved the scenes when daisy & kiddo pulling legs of each other.i feel sad for the collection of the film,this is the movie i wish could first break 3i record due to a superb message. The single screen atmosphere was amazing there are many scene when audience clapped and they whistled many times for good dialogues and action scenes. I wish it will collect 140-150cr.though it deserves more.its bad that Salman’s bad films like Bodyguard and Dabangg2 collected huge while this movie struggle for good collection. Hope they released movie on holiday period.Bravo Salman to remake a good film from south contained good message. Jai Ho!!!

@megha Plz dear you shouldnt make movies as you have set a very bad precedent for your audience- you publicly admitted/ openly bragged about buying pirated dvds so why would your prospective audience be silly enough to buy a ticket for your film then….

@sss- yes other actor’s fans are laughing at salman because jai ho may be only a hit or a superhit n not a blockbuster.. well that is the standard set by the dabangg khan, anything less than a blockbuster that too in a non holiday n festive release is considered a failure.. n we are proud of this.. not like a lungiwala who releases his films with big banners, big directors, big heroines, over the top promotions like ra.one, don 2, jthj in holiday n festive season n gets only ‘hit’ status.. now u can decide who is a laughing stock, salman or lungiwala!

Jai Ho emerged the fifth highest weekend of all time in terms of worldwide gross. The managed to gross 100 crore worldwide in three days making it the fifth film to hit the 100 crore mark.
The collections were slightly less than Dabangg 2 as far as Salman Khan starrers are concerned. Both India and Overseas saw slightly less collections for Jai Ho than Dabangg 2. The other 100 crore films outside these two Salman Khan starrers are Dhoom 3, Chennai Express and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Dhoom 3 is way out in front of Chennai Express with another big gap to Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. The target this year for a big film will be 200 crore worldwide opening weekend. Its a huge target with possibly one or two releases in 2014 having a chance. Below are the all time top ten opening weekends worldwide. All figures are GROSS.

estimates??? still no official confirmation??? but i have to salute salman khan for his honesty.. each n every site, each n every trade expert are giving the same numbers.. from boxoffice india to indicine the figures are same everywhere.. infact eros has not released official figures for jai ho.. they have left the trade to do its job.. its very admirable.. too much fake records were made last year with fake official collections.. salman khan never gets into these dirty games.. hats off to u Salman sir.
