As per our early estimates last night, Jai Ho has collected around 9 – 9.5 crore on its first weekday at the box office. The film had huge drops in a few circuits, but was rock-steady in Mumbai.
In the Mysore circuit, the drop from Friday was more than 70%, with multiplexes witnessing huge drops. But the film has held up strongly in Mumbai, mainly due to the film getting a phenomenal response in the state of Gujarat – which was also the case with last year’s release Ram Leela.
Jai Ho is likely to collect around 88-90 crore in its first weekend and should cross the 100 crore mark on Saturday (second weekend). There are no major release in this weekend, so Jai Ho will continue to be the first choice.

- Friday – 17.38 crore
- Saturday – 16.45 crore (5% drop)
- Sunday – 26.1 crore (58% growth)
- Monday – 9.5 crore (64% drop)
- Total – 69.43 crore

I watched Jai Ho here in Malaysia. I liked it very much. Ticket Price in Malaysia: Jai Ho- RM10, CE & Dhoom 3 RM15. I feel Jai Ho should be compared with MNIK, Ready,Taalash, Agneepath, YJHD. Not with Dhoom 3, CE or K3.
Yes, it failed to meet people’s expectations because people had over-expected from a non-holiday and non-festive release. There are many factors that are against the movie as well. It will emerge as a Super Hit in the long run.
From here 135cr looks realistic..
@hr:k3 collected 36 crores on monday.as it’s 35.92. And that monday was a holiday in north and west india only.
Salman fans logic:-
If SRK film is earning more at box office then there is a hike in ticket prices whereas if Salman film is earning less then there is drop in ticket prices…Grow up guys these are lame excuses..
i live in Jaipur, here the ticket prices for CE,D3,K3 & Jai Ho were same in almost every cinema hall….i watched 2nd day 2nd show of Jai ho…the theatre was half empty…so how can u expect a film to earn more if ppl are not coming to see it…
The main reason behind less collection of Jai Ho is that ppl are over masala flicks now that is why Boss & Besharam failed….
Jai ho is better than dhoom3 and CE.But is it better than k3? ? A big NO.you cann’t compare a superhero movie with jai ho.k3 was a new attempt of roshans to take bollywood to a higher level.k3 is revolutionary to indian film industry. Jai ho is good,but could have been better in direction and screenplay.But i liked jai ho unlike ett,dabbang2,ready,bodyguard and even dabbang.
Marathi movie Timepass collect 35cr net with 250 screen so think if movie realised with 4500 screen…what would be the collection….omg it will be around 650 cr and we are talking abaut 100 cr lol

Salman made sure Jai Ho ticket prices were less than CE and Dhoom 3.
He even reduced promotional expense from 16 crore to 6 crore and gave the rest to charity.
He is the REAL Human, humanity before box office records.
Unlike SRK who stole water from village for Chennai Express, and can do anything to break records.

Just for the information Jai Ho lending cost to EROS is 85 Cr ( Same has been confirmed by Joginder Tuteja on twitter). Salman Khan star power is unquestionable currently even considering Jai ho performance also.
I am not against to any individual actor be it SRK, aamir, akshay or Hrithik. But as the discussion is on just to make it more clear
SRK : Jab tak hai Jaan failed – Does that question SRK’s star power?
AAmir : Talaash – Could not cross 100 Cr. Does that question aamir’s star power? DHOOM 3 thrashes all logic.
Hrithik : Agnipath & Krissh 3 did well. But before that Hrithik had bad patch but Does that question Hirthik’s star power.
Akshay : He is going through a lean patch but an actor who has completed 23 years in industry. Does he need anything else to prove what is is star power.
Coming to the point despite low opening with respect to salman’s standard it will cross 130 cr.
There can be N number of reason why Jai ho did not open to Huge opening day but it can not salman khan star power.

@hasan ahmed,yes SRK is real super star power,but you said false is Ra One and JTHJ are bad fiolms.though Ra One is not outstanding but it is excellent at least better than rohit-cartoon3.JTHJ is the epic film of this decade,no one can do such type film except YASHJI and it can’t be made again in bollywood ever.,one of my favourite film ever,even BIGB’s 2nd SRK favourite movie after swades.so bro,don’t say it bad film,because it had destroyed due to limited screen by sallu after convincing ajay to release sos with it.sallu is a star star now only because of south masala remake.otherwise he can’t compete with hr and ranbir and akki also.
