Jai Ho has opened well at the box office, but not at the same level as some of Salman Khan’s last few releases. The film took a bumper start at single-screens in mass dominated centres, but multiplexes were below-the-mark for the morning shows. Extreme cold in North India also seems to have affected the early morning shows.
The opening in Mumbai circuit was around 80%, Mysore circuit was 50-55%, Delhi/UP was around the same at 55%. The opening wasn’t great in Andhra/Nizam circuit either.
As far as the opening day records are concerned, Jai Ho is unlikely to come close to the opening day business of films like Ek Tha Tiger, Chennai Express or Dhoom 3 – which was expected as the film released on a non-holiday and was riding entirely on the star power of Salman Khan (Read our box office prediction article for more on this).
However, the reports are good and business should only continue to grow over the weekend.

Jai Ho’s Opening Day Occupancy Ensures Gigantic Box Office Collections

The Box Office hurricane has just started, a few hours ago rather, as the Box Office Tiger aka Salman Khan is back on the silver screen with Jai Ho.The movie that released worldwide today, opened to packed houses what with almost 95-100% occupancy in most of the multiplexes and single screens in India.
The overall occupancy till the afternoon shows in single screens is around 80%-90%, while in the multiplexes it stands in the range of 70%-85%.Jai Ho is getting best response from Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Delhi, Ahmadabad. However, the Northern circuits showed a very poor occupancy so far!

Nevertheless, the film will pick up in the evening and late night shows. Moreover, given the low ticket rates as compared to other Biggies, the footfalls should increase in the night shows at multiplexes!
Hahaha..I said na. Mark my words, this movie won’t cross 100 cr on Indian B.O. Show is over Lallu fans. The honeymoon period of sallu is over. People are fed up with his remakes and btw remakes can give instant success, but they can’t save the carrier of any star. Just wait and watch. His upcoming movies will also have the same fate on B.O.
@indicine: please don’t give excuses. Cold is very low as compared to the time, when D3 released. But it smashed every record. Its all about star power which lallu has lost.

My Experience:
Since it is an official remake of Telugu Film “Stalin,” you all know about the story of the film more or less. So, I will talk my experience after watching the movie twice today.
A thoroughly entertaining movie!!! Typical Salman Khan Ishtyle. But it has ingredients for both mass and class.
High on emotions! Action scenes are more realistic than those in Bodyguard and Dabangg 2. The motorcycle scene of Jai chasing down the villains is really enjoyable Comic scenes were very good. Daisy is OK. Sana Khan should have been given more screen space. She did her best within given space. Some scenes had been seen in the trailer were not in the movie. Especially, the dialogue “Aam Aadmi Sutaa Huwa Sher Hai, Ungli Mat Kar. Cheer Paad Degaa.” I think Censor Board deleted them.
Salman Khan, Tabu, Genelia D’Souza and the Child Artist rocked. Salman Khan lived up to our expectation from him of being a social crusader in the film. I would say, performance wise, it was the third best performance after Tere Naam and Dabangg!! Having said about my experience about the movie, I’d like to say there are always some people who try to pull down every Salman’s effort no matter how good her performs. Therefore, ignore them. If your heart says you want to watch it, then listen to it. No one else.
Through my experience, I recommend you to watch!!!!

Salman’s fans, do not worry!! Paglapurian aliens can only invade indicine page. They can’t change the reality.
I have really liked and enjoyed the movie. But some comments in Paglapurian language here worried me. So, I watched at least 10 videos of Public opinions (Cinegoers’ Reactions) on Jai Ho. 95% of them enjoyed the movie. So, Salman’s target has been fulfilled.
People liked it. WOM is very good. Jai Ho will earn a lot in the long term. Even if it can collect 190 Crores, it would be record breaking because it is a non-holiday release. Let’s see how far it can go.

OMG!! Paglapurians are celebrating the low collections of Jai Ho and dancing exactly like they do in Paglapur.. Too irritating to read their comments…..As if Jai Ho’s theatrical run has ended…How quick can they forget the collections of MNIK, Ra.One, Don or JTHJ???
CE was directed by Rohit Shetty and he had been known for making entertaining 100 Crore Movies even before he did CE. Besides, it was Eid Time, there was popular actress, hiked ticket price (from Rs.300-Rs.800). Besides, it can be called a lucky blockbuster. If the Thakur can do the same with HNY like Aamir, the LUCK factor can be proven wrong..
On the other hand, Jai Ho is a non-holiday release with lower ticket price (from Rs 150-Rs 300), low-raking actors except for Salman Khan. Besides, there have been some people calling for the boycott against the film. Because of the boycott, neither Salman will incur losses nor his stardom will be affected. Poor distributors and exhibitors will suffer.
However, Jai Ho was released in some 4300+ Screens which is the highest for an Indian film. But the fact is when a film is released in more screens, the numbers of people also get shared. Being a working-day, not many people can go to watch..
And do not forget how much Talaash collected as well. We are talking BO collections.
Yet, we have to confess that low collections are low collections. It should have collected more.
Jai Ho is getting very positive feedbacks and WOM. Hence, it will sustain for a long time. Give it time before going to conclusion.

Good News For Salman Fan:
Film has picked up everywhere in multiplexes and single screens are on similar levels as yesterday. Since tomorrow is holiday I am expecting night shows to perform better than yesterday.

This shows film is carrying positive WOM and Sunday will be huge.
