It’s no secret now that Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ is not sustaining at the box office and the film is carrying extremely negative word-of-mouth. The growth on Sunday isn’t really there, when (given the high costs and star cast) today should have seen the film crossing the 25 crore mark at the box office.
Tomorrow is a partial holiday for ‘Raksha Bandhan’, but we doubt the film will hold up. Some multiplexes are bringing down the ticket prices to weekday levels tomorrow, while others will continue selling tickets at weekend rates. Tuesday is the first weekday for the film, ticket prices will come down all across and since the film is only performing at metro cities – business is likely to come crashing down. And then there is a big film like ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ scheduled for next week.
The collections of the film has shocked the industry and added to the gloom in the ‘Post Bahubali 2’ era. Almost all films have fallen. A film like ‘Tubelight’ that was expected to do 300 crore, finished with collections of 120 crore, while another major superstar like Shah Rukh Khan could now be giving a film that grosses less than his 2010 film ‘My Name Is Khan’. In fact, the collections of ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ could end up being lower than a small critically acclaimed film like ‘Hindi Medium’.
These are disastrous times for the industry. All eyes will now be on Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’.
We are going with 67 crore as the lifetime collection of ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’.

If Toilet manages 120-140 crore business it still won’t be enough to really subside the damage the industry has seen since Bahubali 2. We need a 250 crore grosser but none of the films in near future seem like doing 100 crore except Judwaa 2 let alone 150 crore or more..
Golmaal again and Tiger Zinda hai are the two films that can really be massive blockbusters because they tick almost all the boxes. If these two fail or underperform then this year will be the worst in recent times..
Jab harry met sejal is a colossal disappointment and with the kind of films shahrukh khan has done in recent past this was bound to happen.
His openings have come down from bumper to excellent and now it was just about good..
Don’t be surprised if in near future srk films open on a poor note because with JHMS he has not only lost the entire trust of the general audience but from his fans as well
Next year in Jan 2018 when there will be a list of top 10 fims for 2018, kindly dont include Shahrukh Khans films in top 5 because there is No hance now he can deliver a major blockbuster in near future.

His last 4 films including Jab Harry Met Sejal are underperformers. Now it’s almost evident that audience are losing interest in his films and he has lost his so called Superstardom

The writing is on the wall…there were ominous signs from the very time this movie was announced. Imtiaz ali is a flop director. When the tentative title was “The Ring”, you could start feeling negative vibes. Then suddenly there was a news that title is changed to Rehnuma – sigh of relief…pleasant title, maybe the movie would also be pleasant…simple earthy love story between a tour guide n a tourist. Then the first look arrived- O O…foreign locales , urban look , alien treatment…YASRC ( yet another shitty rom com) shot abroad feel…then finally the official title announced- Jab Harry met Sejal….phussssssss….what ? When Harry met Sally? Jab we met? Haven’t the audience heard similar titles before…was Rehnuma not 10 times better than this? From there on, things started going only downwards…the mini trails, the sex n intercourse dialogues…some not so gud songs…some more songs…too many songs…one more song just the day before release..which was the crappiest of the lot…then the city tours, banarasi paan, all the frills….by now it was clear to all n sundry that this is just YASRC. Come Friday morning and the pre-release experience of the audience clearly reflects in the theatres…they are empty !! Sorry, all those frills are not enough to sell this YASRC to smartened audience. The writing is on the wall.
Anand l ray’s next with Srk is Katrina meri jaan. This will also be a semi hit because it is a film like main Madhuri banna chahti hoon.
