Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na marks the acting debut of Aamir Khan’s nephew Imraan Khan. Abbas Tyrewala of Munnabhai M.B.B.S and Main Hoon Na fame (as a writer) has scripted and directed this fun flick mainly targetted at the youth. This is also the first movie from Aamir Khan productions to not feature the superstar himself. But any product that Aamir lends his name to, is keenly anticipated and be rest assured, high on quality. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is no exception!
Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is about Jai Singh Rathore a.k.a Rats (Imraan Khan), a Rajput who doesnt believe in violence and Aditi Mahant a.k.a Meow (Genelia D’Souza), a cute and violent girl. Aditi feels Jai is a big coward and Jai says her parents should have rinsed her mouth with soap! They fight like crazy but just cant live without each other. They are almost a made for each other couple, their parents know this, friends know it, but they believe they are just great friends, no more, no less. Does friendship turn into love?
Jane Tu Ya Jane Na Review
Whatever Aamir Khan touches seems to be turning into gold. First Lagaan, then Taare Zameen Par and now Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, although not in the same league, is yet another classic from Aamir Khan productions. What works for Jaane Tu is the well etched characters, performed brilliantly by the actors. Its not just the main characters, but even the supporting characters that add a lot of value to Jaane Tu.
Director Abbas Tyrewala has executed the script with brilliance. The first half is almost flawless, a simple tale of friendship and love, that either makes you smile or laugh. The second half, could have been better.. it tends to drag a tad bit at times and gets predictable when Genelia is engaged. The writer should have opted for a different climax and made it slightly more believable. The dialogues are witty, hilarious at times and brilliant. The music by A.R. Rehman is perfect for the movie. “Pappu cant dance saala” and “Kabhi Kabhi” stand out.
Scenes that stand out in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na
- Aditi’s parents and Jai’s discussion on the engagement. Funny!
- Aditi wonders how the 5 years passed by. “On the phone beta” says Jai’s mom.
- Scene between Amit and Aditi, his confession. Heart warming and brilliant!
- Aditi begins to realise her love for Jai only when Manjari Phadnis enters the scene. The jealousy, sadness and regret is executed and performed perfectly.
- When Amit takes Aditi into his room.
- Scenes between Jai’s mother and his dead father (he talks from a portrait). Hilarious!
- The chemistry between the gang of 6 friends.
- Honestly I didnt like the climax, but the performance by Genelia and Imraan, when surrounded by the cops, makes an impact.
I can just go on and on, great moments make a great movie and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na has simply fantastic moments in abundance.
Coming to the performances, Imraan Khan reminded me a lot of Aamir Khan, especially the mischievious grin. Imraan overall makes a solid debut, not once does he go over the top. A good restrained performance, this actor will surely go a long way. Genelia D’Souza’s expressions alone are worth the price of the ticket. She oozes cuteness and performs well. Manjari Phadnis looks good, acts well. Ratna Pathak Shah is superb as always. Paresh Rawal makes you laugh a couple of times. Naseeruddin Shah in a short role is just perfect. The director has managed to extract excellent performances from every other character actor.
Overall, Jaane Tu is immensely enjoyable and high on entertainment. If your looking for a movie on friendship and love, that makes you smile and laugh at times. Dont miss it! At the box-office, the lacklustre performance of Love Story 2050 along with good word out mouth should ensure a HIT status atleast!

The movie is a very light hearted entertainer! I watched it with my friends and we all loved it! Everyone is entitled to their opinions. If you did not like this movie, it’s your own choice. You have mentioned it in your review. But why do you expect everyone to agree with you????? If other people are praising this movie, then let it be.. Why can’t you digest this simple fact? what makes you come back again and again stressing your opinion. We have heard you.. now common move on… There are a few ppl who have not liked this movie and written the same here.. I don’t see them coming back ..then why do you consider this space as a field of war!!
Writing your point over and over would not convince us but make us hate you even more! So give some rest to your computer and keyboard or else the keys will pop out due to over-usage :D

overall i would like to say is genelia’s acting is superb …….
her bubbly character is simply different from all other past heroines……
in her acting we can see rich but down to earth kind of girl, sensitive, etc…….
this mixer of qualities in her acting is really superb……..
at a time she can give expressions of rich but down to earth kind of girl, sensitive…..etc………
and over all his smile i like the mostttttttttt
and i even like imran smile a lottttttttttt
imran is soooooooooooooooooo cute and coming to acting nice……..in this movie he didn’t have a challenging role…its a normal boy role…and no scope to explore his acting also….so i would suggest imran to select the movies where he can exhibit his acting skills

Mini: Did u ever meet an alien?!! U know nothing about aliens ’cause we never met them.. I’m from a wealthy family, my kids r grown up, and I loved this.. to be an alien ( if what we imagine about them is true) I loved E.T.who was so cute, drinking coke, and make the flowers blossom again, and fly on the bike in the air, have extraordinary power as well as emotions!

LS2050 is a fiction, a beautiful fiction ( I never loved any Hollywood science fictions) but I loved this creativity of bollywood. What I assume that ppl didn’t understand it. Lots of pple on You Tube said: the movie is a copy of Time Machine, Robots, etc. and what I want to say here is the following: Those hollywood movies were boring, but LS2050 was an interesting one. What I loved about LS2050 is the conception of the future. We - as we have a terrible traffic jam in our country - always wished if one day, in future could see traffic in the air, if cars could fly, that’s (1) and If we could easily buy our stuff by pressing some buttens and we get what we want, that’s (2) and if we could change our room colours in seconds, that’s (3) and if we could hire some robots to work for us with no headache with housemaids and that’s (4) including other imaginaries in the movie, with beautiful Priyanka in her future costumes, hair styles, etc. ( I think u all have to see the movie again then u will understand why I loved it)
In addition, I understood why b.wood is copying from h.wood ’cause almost 70% of Indians never watch h.wood movies, so that’s reasonable, to take some ideas and create something new, with different flavour. And, if u all didn’t know yet, Hollywood also copying from foreign language horror movies e.g. The Ring, The Grudge, The Eye ( not only copying but they use the same names as well! movie names) And they do it ’cause also most american people never watch Japanese, Chinese or Korean movies.
So.. everyone does, and u all have to be (proud) of what some Indian directors were capable of, not to attack him and kill him with your bad reviews and comments!! U all need to watch this movie again then u will find out that there’s no comparison between LS2050 & JTYJN. I understood why all of u loved JT, a simple and a fresh movie, a simple script, fine.. I do understand but the 2 movies r completely different, so why u pple don’t enjoy anything different?! Why don’t u accept any new script?!

Jaane tu ya … very good movie ,in short i can say that good time pass ,when i saw the trailer of this film i just imagine the jim of American pie, but after seein the movie i was little dissapointed of the perfomance of the different characters.
By the way i think my expectations are big… But as a indian viewer its i love the film.

oohh FAthiya ji I really admire u………..,Not on ur reviews,but on ur idea to get famous,the cheapest way of “riding against the wind”..All r saying JTu is cute and ur against that ,and u r saying LV2050 is gr8 fiction ,that most of us find a mistake by a group of movei makers….but still u cud make this JT review forum to a Fathiya Rewie forum.in that way u r really gr8….Guys dont waste ur time in fighting with these kinda nuts…they is simply expoliting ur soft emotions..nothin much…………
