Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, who will be playing the role of Sanjay Dutt in a biopic directed by Rajkumar Hirani, has said the journey of playing Dutt has been an inspiring one. The actor also added that he has never put on so much weight for a role before.
“It has been an inspiring journey for me to be playing Sanjay Dutt for the silver screen. I have never put on so much weight before and now plan to reduce some weight for the next phase of shooting” Ranbir said.
The actor was interacting with reporters at the launch of a ‘Virtual Reality’ lounge at PVR ECX that would allow movie-goers a different experience as they wait for the film to begin on the traditional silver screen.
“It is a mind-blowing experience to go through the VR experience. But being an actor, I fear that it might take away the audiences from movie theatres” Ranbir added.
The actor awaits the release of Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos and Rajkumar Hirani’s untitled biopic of Sanjay Dutt, later this year.

@indicine , in your Q&A session this Sunday you mentioned that Shahrukh Khan is the most recognized indian actor in the world..even though it doesn’t reflect in box office collections. And you gave an example of Amitabh Bachchan saying that his films dont open well but he is still the biggest star. Are both of these sentences not ludicrous? Firstly if Shahrukh is best known indian actor, then why doesnt it reflect or why shouldnt it reflect in box office collections? How else do we know who is the biggest star? Who has counted the 3.2 billion fans that Shahrukh supposedly has? I know that Salman has 4.5 billion fans in the world..but i dont have data to prove it..so how can anyone believe it? The only definite way to determine stardom is by number of tickets sold..isnt it? Secondly, how can we compare Shahrukh with Amitabh? Its a lame example…Amitabh is 70+ years old playing supporting characters n past his prime 30 years back whereas Shahrukh is still playing lead roles n selling the movies on his name. How can their box office openings be compared? Lets be more objective in determining the biggest n best known indian actor in the world – as they say, words may lie…numbers don’t !!

I respect Raju Hirani for his work but don’t like RK. It will be loss for both the movies if they clash, but it won’t be RK vs Salman but Raju Hirani vs Salman Khan. I hope Raju will act sensible & avoid clash with TZH.
@hrithik dont even dream that raju will avoid clash. Abhijaat joshi just said recently that this is one of their best scripts so far and ranbir’s performance will be remembered for all time. Salman is huge only on eid with solo release. On christmas and other festivals he is not that huge. Also TZH will be bakwaas crap which is made up in hurry just for making money and nothing else. Raju hirani is one of the finest and gem of a director that indian cinema has ever produced. In front of raju, no superstar can stand with their crap. Raju is bigger than any superstars and his credibility will surely pull huge number of neutral audience all over the country and world and apart from lallu’s auto waala fans, no one is interested for this pathetic movie’s pathetic sequel directed by one of the crapliest directors of bollywood. So forget about avoiding clash. Its lallu who should avoid clash and postpone his crap. Raju hirani will not move.
