IIFA Awards 2011 – 2012 Winners

IIFA Awards 2011 in Toronto on Saturday, concluded with Dabangg, My Name Is Khan and Band Baaja Baraat bagging most of the coveted awards. The star-studded awards show, often referred to as the Oscars of Bollywood was a mega event.

Dabangg was honored with the IIFA Award for Best Film, Shahrukh Khan won the Best Actor award for My Name Is Khan and Karan Johar walked away with the Best Director trophy for the same film.

From other awards worthy of a mention, Anuskha Sharma received the Best Actress trophy for Band Baaja Baraat while her co-star Ranveer Singh won the IIFA Award for Best Actor on Debut. Sonakshi Sinha was awarded the Best Actress on Debut for Dabangg.

Shahrukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Bipasha Basu and Priyanka Chopra performed at the IIFA Awards Ceremony which witnessed the presence of Oscar Winners like Cuba Gooding and Hilary Swank.

The Toronto stadium where the 12th Edition of the IIFA Awards took place, was attended by more than 10,000 people.

Each year the IIFA Awards move from one country to another. Last year (2010) it was held in Colombo, Srilanka. This year in Toronto, Canada. Would be interesting to see where the IIFA Awards 2012 will be held.
