Emraan Hashmi, who is riding high on the success of “Raaz 3”, is the most underrated actor of the present generation, says Salman Khan.
Emraan’s box office success ratio was recently compared to Salman’s, as he has earned a thumbs up with most of his recent films, including “Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai”, “Murder 2”, “The Dirty Picture”, “Jannat 2”, “Shanghai” and most recently, “Raaz 3”.
“Emraan Hashmi is the most underrated actor and now he should get his due. He has given hit after hit. He is damn good as an actor. I really like him,” Salman said during the music launch of “Ishkq In Paris”.
Salman, who launched the film’s music, was at his wittiest and bullied everyone on stage, including actress-producer Preity Zinta, actor Rhehan Malliek and director Prem Raj.
Salman shot a special song titled “Kudiye di kurti” for the film with Preity, and the actress says she was stunned to see his professionalism.
“I have worked with Salman Khan in tons of films, but when he came on sets, he asked the choreographer to show the steps. Then he said ‘Let’s go for a take’, and he did it perfectly on the first take itself,” she said.
“He is super professional. I thought we will take four to five takes, but we finished in just two takes,” added Preity, who has turned producer with the movie.
“Ishkq In Paris”, releasing November 2, is a romantic comedy.

The so called illiterate salman fans you mentioned are not as educated,as intelligent,as elite& as genius as you and they watch movies only for entertainment(such that they get relieved of their pains,sufferings &sorrows from their hardwork and from hard life for atleast 3 hours) and south indian movies do that. You said you like hrithik and aamir, great, i say they are the most talented bollywood actors & performers of our era along with big b& ajay d and definitely much better than salman,akki and others but dont forget the reality that salman’s star power, charisma, crowd pulling capacity and the hysteria he creates are unmatchable by any of his contemporaries. The bottom line is- if you dont like salman,his movies&his fans, kindly keep your mouth shut but dont demean a bollywood iconic megastar and indian audiences in particular, just to prove that you are a ‘freakish educated fool’. Even entertainment has some quality. Fine, food is a necessity unlike entertainment. But, will you like it if there is some cockroach in it whist you are eating. This is what is quality, which applies to entertainment too. Word of mouth or superhits etc. don’t guarantee it. So before people talk about superhits, they should learn to appreciate quality. I am not wasting my time writing this message for nothing. Almost every foreign critic praised Kites, Guzaarish and Ra.one, not as a movie but for it’s sheer boldness and innovation, not for shirt removing(which you call entertainment) or copying South Indian films.

@mukesh kumar. In today’s busy and stressful lives entertainment has also become a necessity. Be it entertainment or be it food, ‘quality’ is a relative term. For example, food (very unhygienic but fresh) without cockroach is relatively of poor quality and more harmful to your health compared to food (very hygienic) with cockroach in it (unless&untill you dont eat that cockroach). 3 idiots was as good a ‘quality’ entertaining movie as dabaang (different genres), but in different ways to different people. Remember only ‘quality’ masala movies have become blockbusters. kites(flop in india) was like a ‘mexican+spanish+phirang indian’ hybrid movie which was flawed, stretchy & of ‘average quality’. Guzaarish (flop in india) as well was of average quality and except for hrithik’s performance it was forgettable.

Dress up in the costliest of suit and in the costliest of car go to any theater(not multiplex) and just say this to anyone at the theatre “RA.1 is a quality movie”. And then wait for 5 minutes. Within 5 minutes an ambulance from a nearby “mental hospital” with 9 attendants(maximum), will come and take you directly to your new ‘home’. Just try it once.
