Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif have been signed to play the lead in the remake of Hollywood film Knight and Day. The film will be directed by Siddharth Anand, who has previously directed films like Salaam Namaste, Ta Ra Rum Pum, Bachna Ae Haseeno and Anjaana Anjaani.
Talking to us, Siddharth says “Yes, I will be directing the film. Initially, it was supposed to be a remake of Knight and Day (Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz), but certain points in the film didn’t work for me. When it released, Knight and Day was a very popular film and I didn’t want the Indian audience to just watch a remake.”
To rework the script, Siddharth worked closely with Kahaani writers Sujoy Ghosh and Suresh Nair. A source close to the project informs “They have re-worked the script with Sujoy Ghosh and Suresh Nair. Major changes have been made to the storyline and it will be a completely new experience for the audience. The basic idea of Knight and Day remains, but with several new twists and turns.”
The film will be shot in India and Europe. The music is expected to be composed by Vishal-Shekhar, music directors of all Siddharth Anand films so far. The title of the film that goes on floors in February 2013, is yet to be confirmed.
This will be Hrithik’s second film with Katrina after the hugely successful Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Stay tuned for all the updates on the action thriller, that’s expected to release late 2013 or early 2014.
Superstar Hrithik roshan, the Supremely talented all-rounder in the bollywood industry and one of its biggest under-achievers so far. I hope the ‘best dancer’ in bollywood continues his successful journey with his upcoming movies. Its better for him to choose scripts that work both commercially & critically rather than just going for some aesthetic scripts like guzaarish which are cinematically good but commercial under performers. HR & KK are a good on-screen pair, so it would be a treat for both their fans.

remake is remake its hollywood or south one, its is gud to announce it directly as a remake then lifting the scences from other language moives
i think how to remake a movie every director should watch agneepath..only core subject is same nothing else….all the other thing are change or new thing or charecter added… but all south film are frame by frame copy of original…evrything even costume are copy…that is the differance of south remake and other remake….
i think hrithik himself say he never like remake he do remake if and only except core concept everything is new..so it will be completely new movie…with sujoy as script writer we expect a blockbluster script keeping indian audiance in mind…

Honestly speaking i am not a big fan of remakes…though i want this movie to work for HR but i believe this creativity bankruptcy will not end in Bollywood if we keep on making remakes…

Salman tried to copy Hrithik in Jodha Akbar with Veer. As Veer became flop,you became jealous of Hrithik.

First Salman Khan remaked a south film which was super hit in south in Hindi named Kyonki. It was flop.Komal Nahta had said that Salman was not able to bear the weight of the story. Years later,Hrithik dared to act in the below average film of legendary actor Amitabh Bachan named Agneepath & made it a super hit.

and it is undrstandble other fans getting angry wen hrithik is cmpared to khans…but 4 hr fans hrithik has always been in his own league…he has defeated all actors @ box office …and since he has made debut he has 3 yrs in his name wer his movies has ranked no.1 grosser fr dt year..2000,2003,2006…and onli in fst six yrs he mangd thrice amongst six stars 3 big khans,sunny deol,akshay…even if u tak 12 yrs topping thrice amng 5 stars iz also great…so plz dnt doubt his starpower..he iz amg d heroes who ve always got gud to bumper openings…and next ten years am sure he lll giv classic films nd blockbusters…
It won’t be scene-to-scene copy like South remakes so I am looking forward to see it.And every project by Hrithik is a ‘Must See’ project.And despite of mixed reviews of Knight & Day the movie was very entertaining and I think they’ll make necessary changes to the remake in bollywwod.
