Hrithik Roshan 2013 Movies: Upcoming Films

After two hugely successful films (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Agneepath), 2013 will be a huge year for Hrithik Roshan and his fans around the world. His home-production, the super-ambitious Krrish 3, will release during Diwali 2013. A few other films will also go on floors this year.

CONFIRMED UPCOMING FILMS

Krrish 3: Along with Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom 3, Krrish 3 is one of the most awaited sequels of 2013. The superhero film will be Hrithik’s solo release this year. Talking to the media on his birthday (January 10th), the actor said “We have been working on Krrish 3 for almost 5 years. Still a long way to go, a lot of special effects are still left. The film has gone beyond our imagination and has been the toughest challenge ever”. Krrish 3 also stars Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi and Kangna Ranaut. The film is directed by Rakesh Roshan. The Roshan’s wrapped up the film on Rakesh Roshan’s 42nd wedding anniversary. Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment has been working on the Visual Special Effects. Release Date: 3rd November 2013 (Sunday).

Bang Bang: Director Sidhharth Anand’s next, the official remake of Hollywood film “Knight and Day”, will feature Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif. The film has been tentatively titled ‘Bang Bang’. The shoot was delayed by 3 months, as the Kashmir schedule was moved to December due to security issues. The first shooting schedule now begins in the second week of May. Stunt director of Hollywood films like Rambo has been roped in to choreograph the high-octane action sequences. Release date: 1st May 2014.

Shuddhi: Karan Johar recently announced Agneepath director Karan Malhotra’s next, which will be produced under the Dharma Productions’ banner. Hrithik Roshan has signed the film. The script is original and NOT adapted from Amish Tripati’s The Immortals of Meluha. Shuddhi releases next Diwali – October 23rd 2014 (date not officially confirmed).

Tigmanshu Dhulia film: After critically acclaimed films like Haasil, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and Paan Singh Tomar, director Tigmanshu Dhulia will be directing Hrithik Roshan in the adaptation of Hamlet - William Shakespeare’s most powerful and influential tragedy in English literature. The film will be set in rural India. Shooting begins after the completion of Shuddhi. The untitled film is likely to release in the first half of 2015.

UNCONFIRMED FILMS

Paani: It’s a film that filmmaker Shekhar Kapur conceptualised and wrote 15 years back. Hrithik has always been Kapur’s first choice to play the lead in the film that will cost more than $30 million to make. While Hrithik’s presence is yet to be officially confirmed, the actor has spoken about the film in several interviews. At the Marrakech Film Festival, Hrithik said “I would just say that working with Shekhar Kapur is a lifelong dream of mine. Paani is a dream and I hope it happens.”

Current status: The film is currently in it’s pre-production stages. Yashraj Films has agreed to produce Paani. Release date: Not confirmed.

Zoya Akhtar’s untitled next: Zoya has always publicly said that Hrithik is her favorite actor and she would want him to be a part of every film she directs. At Dabboo Ratnani’s calendar launch, Hrithik also spoke about the film and said he would never say ‘no’ to Zoya. Recently, there were several rumours floating around of Zoya pulling off a casting coup of Hrithik, Kareena, Ranbir and Katrina, but the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara director has rubbished all rumours.

Current status: The film is yet to be officially announced.

That’s Hrithik Roshan’s lineup of movies for 2013 and 2014. His only release in 2013 will be Krrish 3, but ‘Bang Bang’ is likely to release early 2014.
