Hollywood make-up artiste for Rishi Kapoor’s look in Kapoor & Sons

Rishi Kapoor is all set to surprise the audiences with his new and never-seen-before old man look in Dharma Productions’ ’Kapoor & Sons’.

The makers had roped in one of Hollywood’s best known make-up artist Greg Cannom to work on Rishi Kapoor’s look, in the film that has been directed by Shakun Batra.

Karan Johar has apparently spent a whopping amount of Rs 1.5 crore to get Cannom for Rishi’s make-up.

Cannom acclaimed for his work in Brad Pitt’s ‘The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button’ and Robin Williams’ old lady disguise in ‘Mrs Doubtfire’.

“It takes a producer with guts and vision to spend so much money on one actor’s make-up. And mind you Kapoor & Sons is not a mammoth Dharma Production like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham,” Rishi said about Karan hiring Cannom for his make-up.

“I already play an old man in another film. When Shakun and Karan approached me with this role, I asked them how one could be separated from the other. That’s when they offered to bring Cannom into the picture.”

Rishi is playing a 90-year-old man in the film, the oldest character that he has portrayed in his 4 decade long career.

“Everybody said this is how you’ll look when you get to be 90. The transformation was amazing. I couldn’t recognize myself. Now I’ve to sit with Shakun and Karan Johar and work on my voice.”

Kapoor & Sons is a comedy romantic drama film and it also features Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Fawad Afzal Khan in lead roles. The music has been composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the film is slated to release on March 18, 2016 – coinciding with Karan Johar’s mother’s birthday.
