Hindi Movies This Week 22 Feb 2013

Kai Po Che: Based on Chetan Bhagat’s popular novel ‘The 3 Mistakes Of My Life’, Kai Po Che marks the return of director Abhishek Kapoor, who last directed the national award winning film ‘Rock On!!’ 5 years ago. The movie is a story of three friends Ishaan, Omi and Govind – who are trying to make their mark in the early 2000s. In a cricket-obsessed country, they hit upon a master plan – to start a training academy that could produce India’s next cricketing superstars! What follows is a thrilling unforgettable adventure. The music, composed by Amit Trivedi, has managed to strike a chord with the youth.

Kai Po Che Hit Or Flop Box Office Prediction: Well, the pre-release reports are fantastic, by far the best for any film this year. A few critic reviews (read here) are out already and all are positive. UTV has promoted the film brilliantly, but the opening is likely to be in the 50-60% range as Kai Po Che is targeted mainly at the multiplex audience and the film lacks star-value (although the lead cast comprises of popular television actors). In an interview recently, director Abhishek Kapoor said he’s relying on word-of-mouth for Kai Po Che – which has to be good if the film has to ‘HIT’ the jackpot at the box office.

Zila Ghaziabad: Munnabhai duo Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi team up with Vivek Oberoi and Paresh Rawal.. in a film that is based on a true story of a gang war between two powerful gangs in Ghaziabad. Vivek and Arshad are the gang leaders of the rival groups, while Dutt plays a cop. Zila Ghaziabad also has item numbers featuring Geeta Basra and Shriya Saran.

Zila Ghaziabad Hit Or Flop Box Office Prediction: The trailers haven’t really been too impressive, but Zila Ghaziabad should open to a decent response at mass-centres (single screens). The opening day collections should be 2-3 crores at best, given the fact that the film is releasing on limited screens.
