Vote: Which Hindi film deserved Oscar nomination?
Barfi has been selected as India’s official entry for the Oscars. A lot of people have been confusing this to be equivalent to Lagaan’s Oscar nomination. That’s not true.
Since 1957, India has sent 45 films as it’s official entry for the Oscars. Out of these, only 3 films – Mother India (1957), Salaam Bombay (1988) and Lagaan (2001) were nominated for the Oscars in the “Best Foreign Language Film”.
While Barfi is one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful films of 2012, it’s far from original. A lot of scenes have been blatantly plagiarised, which is likely to reduce the small chance it has for an Oscar nomination.
Think Kahaani or Paan Singh Tomar were better bets? Which other Hindi film that was shortlisted this year deserved the nomination? Vote below!

if barfi blindly plagiarised from several foreign film so don 2. I have identified more than 90 scenes of don2 directly copied from hollywood film. Thats the secret of so called originality of srk and his so called pakao fans.

If done had some scenes inspired from other movies then what about wanted which had even the action scenes copied and each bit by bit second by second was cheated.Why not write an article on the master of copying?I think if there was a oscar kela award for copying then it would be for only salman.

An idiot has written that don 2 is a copy? So tell one scene of the movie which copied. Don 2 script treatment is western and classy. DON 2 IS GANGSTER FLICK WHICH IS RARELY MADE IN INDIA.Some idiot dont understand this. And their star copies from crap south movie. Grow up.

The maximum number of films which India sent as official entry for Oscar awards for best foreign featured Kamal Hassan most(10). But these films never got considered. 2)Aamir Khan (3 films), Lagaan,Rang De Basanti & Taare Zameen Par. The film Lagaan was nominated. 3) SRK for Hey Ram, direction,script & screenplay -- Kamal Hassan. If we consider film not nominated by India, but still starring Indian actors, there is ‘water’ starring John Abraham & Lisa Ray & directed by Deepa Mehta which was considered by Oscar jury.

Srk devdas is not remake it based on a book and 3 idiots is also is based on 5.some1 . Billu is average and srk has only special appearance in it. (Note- billu jis south movie ka remake hai wo actually flop in south which star rajni) .Mind it. And don is remake of 70s movie and srk movie is better and jaan-e-mann was disaster. So haters grow up
