Happy New Year has destroyed every box office opening record on its first day at the ticket window. The film has not only managed to beat the previous collections of Dhoom 3, but has surpassed it by a huge margin. The first day collections of Happy New Year is Rs 8.75 cr more than the opening day (non-holiday) collections of the Aamir Khan film and Rs 6.94 crore more than the previous highest single day.
It goes without saying that Happy New Year is now officially the biggest opening for a Shahrukh Khan film too. Previous record was held by Chennai Express which also opened to record-breaking figures of Rs 33.12 cr.
It will be interesting to see if Happy New Year can take all the first three spots in its first weekend. It has to collect 38.04 cr or more on Saturday and Sunday to do so. Looking at the opening on Saturday, it should!

- Kick – 30.18 crore (third day)
- Kick – 28.89 crore (fifth day)
Going by first day collection it should do 275+ cr in India anything less than that will be a huge let down. Lets wait & see how long this Diwali cracker goes !!!!!!!!!!!!

Abt the WOM of Bang Bang… It was definitely gud… Or else its Next to impossible for a fil with such ratings to collect 150Cr unless WOM is positive & BB did 178 Crores….

@sheggy yes you are right. this was abhishek movie. that’s why it collected 44 crores, and i forgot it also had deepika. as everytime this old man needs a big heroine to get ahit. but this hit will turn in to shit as this is just opening day. lifetime will come no where close to PK at all.
kick without big actress, much lesser screens, non holiday, less ticket prices earned 27 crores. while this multi-starrer with biggest holiday, much more screens, with big actress, earned 40 crores only. big shame.

This is stardom,opening is always due to stardom rest depends on content.Even Ra1 was bad in content but opened huge due to stardom but crashed due to content.You have to accept that SRK is one of the megastar of country.
