Heroine News: Randeep Hooda is Kareena’s choice

Kareena Kapoor is the numero-uno female star in Bollywood and her wish is usually a command.

The actress, who was last seen in Shahrukh Khan’s Ra One, plays the lead role in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine. Sources say, Kareena at the very last moment, refused to get intimate on-screen with newcomer Arunoday Singh and was keen on having him replaced with Randeep Hooda (Sushmita Sen’s ex-boyfriend and the man who played the cop in Once Upon A Time In Mumbai).

Bebo was always the first choice for Heroine but refused as she wasn’t too happy with the script. Bhandarkar then moved on to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who accepted the offer, but the news of her pregnancy put the project on hold once again. The script was later altered to accommodate Kareena once again.

Since it’s inception Arunoday was always a part of the film. Unfortunately for the actor, he lost his role to Randeep. Madhur says the re-shuffle in the cast was the result of certain changes in the script. Randeep’s will play the role of a cricketer and suited the role better.

Kareena will portray the rise and fall of a Bollywood Diva whose name remains a mystery. The mega budget flick produced by UTV will go on floors in a week.
