Scheduled to release during Christmas later this year, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious Bajirao Mastani was postponed to mid-2016.
A source close to the film revealed the reason behind the delay:
Bhansali takes his time in order to get the best out of everything. The film has 10 songs, and one of them features all three actors. Also, since it’s a period film, it will involve a lot of VFX, and this process will take a lot of time to complete.
Another source from the production unit informed us that the shooting schedule of the film will only be completed by October or November 2015, leaving the makers with little or no time for post-production and promotion.
Bajirao Mastani stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. The other Christmas release, Tamasha, too has been postponed. Both films make way for Rohit Shetty and Shahrukh Khan’s mega-budget entertainer, featuring 17 known actors from the industry.

I think it is publicity gimmick by makers..to announce christmas release date.. N then postpone it…

This looks like a movie that could have easily been terrible if it weren’t for the great cast involved. Because of that, this looks like it might be pretty good actually.

Dear indicine, Tamasha has not been postponed because of any other movie. Its been postponed because Jagga Jasoos has been delayed and Ranbir doesn’t want releases in quick intervals.
Also postponed to avoid a clash with the srk-rohit shetty film.

I don’t know why but i am not all excited for Bajirao Mastaani . I don’t hate SLB i like him but i think he has lost his charm . Ram Leela was a disappointing movie .Despite brilliant performances from Ranveer and Deepika i did not liked Ram Leela . I think that is the reason i am not excited for BM . Despite the fact that it has a stellar cast comprising of Ranveer, Priyanka and Deepika . He was brilliant in films like HDDCS, Devdas and Guzaarish . Saawariya was a bad film . I have not seen Black properly so i cannot say about that .

Makers r trying to give sm suitable reasons fr postpone But They postponed their films to let SRK-Rohit enjoy Christmas alone nd make them release from pressure..its the true reason.

Bajirao Mastani movie isnt being postponed its releasing in december however some loser fake media members r leaking false news as the makers havent said such things n the full sooting will be over by may- june-july
