Social media website Twitter enjoys a lot of participation and interaction from celebrities all over the world. In India too, Twitter is hugely popular with stalwarts like Sachin Tendulkar, PM Narendra Modi, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, SRK and Big B having their official handles on the site. Therefore, it is rather intriguing that an actor like Ranbir Kapoor, who enjoys a huge fan-following amongst the youth, doesn’t have a official Twitter or Facebook page.

While promoting his upcoming film Bombay Velvet, the actor gave his reasons why he would never join any social media websites.
“I was on Twitter only to promote Lenovo, a brand that I was endorsing. They were launching a phone and they wanted me to interact through their handle. It wasn’t my account. It was a misconception”

“I don’t have a problem with Twitter. To each his own. I feel in India we do not have freedom of speech. You say anything and there are 10 different interpretations that come out. When you don’t have freedom of speech, how can you use a medium like Twitter”
“My father (Rishi Kapoor) is on Twitter right now, whatever he says, I have heard all those things while growing up. He can speak his mind. But I cannot. I say something and there will be 10 different meanings given to it. Then you have to clarify that. So it’s putting an extra headache on you.”
“So no. I don’t think I am going to join Twitter” Ranbir said.
Ranbir’s dad, Rishi Kapoor, also cleared the air regarding the actor’s presence on Twitter. Rishi said “Hello friends.This is Ranbirs dad. Just want to state that he’s not on any social platform whatsoever so please don’t get fooled by any dupe.
“That message was important to those fans of his who still believe that he is on Twitter. I get requests and complaints regarding him. Sorry!” he tweeted last week.
Because no one will follow him……thats it..!!!!!

I appreciate that he wants his choice of not joining twitter. Its good that he wants to keep some privacy in his life. As a celebrity one needs to be responsible. Otherwise there are ranveer arjuns who do stuff like aib and shame their celebrity status. It’s not always good to showcase your whole personality to public. In the end u r actors and ur characters should speak for you!!

Ranbir Kapoor’s one of the reason for not joining Twitter could be his decreased female / male fan following among youth due to his last 2 flop movies at the BO , Youngsters , especially Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan’s increasing fan following among youth , losing out to Salman Khan , the undisputed King of Twitter and Box Office and undoubtedly the most coolest , most funniest celebrity on Twitter . Ranbir Kapoor is such a foolish and the dumbest Bollywood actor of all time , he always is known for his private affair linkups more than his movie releases . Come on Ranbir , it’s not a crime to have so many relationships with actresses there are many actors in Indian Cinema with so many affairs or linkups in their personal life which include actors like : Salman Khan , Kamal Haasan , Rajesh Khanna , Raj Kapoor (your own grandfather) ,
Ranbir kapoor is a superb actor and he always behaves well in social plateform most of time.I like the way he rose to stardom at such a short time despite that Khans,hr,akki,ajay were ruling but he create his own space, his YJHD had a unique craze and it collected 180cr in India despite being non festive release.
Agree BV had nothing special in trailer and song but I still think it will take good opening because of RK.
@habib you hater I had seen interview if him with Komal nahta before Rockstar released, he said that he don’t like social media and not interested to join them, after that with Barfi,rocktar and YJHD he got huge appreciation but never joined twitter, after 4 years than he also not on social platform and I wish he won’t be.Regarding performance his movie can be bad or good but he always had good performance barring Roy.
